This scrub comes in a square glass jar (if you’ve used the L’Oreal masks it’s the same), this is quite unusual for a face scrub, but gives it a bit more of a luxe feel.
The product itself is a deep golden brown colour, a lot like syrup, it also has a very similar scent to syrup, a sweet caramelised brown sugar smell. The texture is, as you’d imagine is grainy from the sugar.
When you pick up some of the scrub on your hand it has a light golden colour on the skin; it doesn’t visibly stain but maybe what helps with the glowing finish.
The scrub feels really satisfying on your skin, you can feel it scrubbing (some scrubs have such tiny particles it feels a little too smooth on the skin) but in the same token it is gentle on the skin and doesn’t feel scratchy or rough.
The other bonus to this scrub is that you can use it on your lips. I love this as I get really dry skin on my lips. It says not to ingest, so I always rinse it off rather than lick it off (like you can with some lip scrubs). I don’t find this to be a problem because I do my lips the same time as the rest of my face.
I really enjoy using this scrub my skin feels soft and smooth after using it, and I haven’t experienced any spots or breakouts.
I am so cautious about using sugar scrubs on my face as they can be quite harsh and cause minute scratches to your skin. L'Oreal always do pretty good products so I leaped at the chance to trial this one! First off, the packaging is quite nice, it's a lot plainer than what I would expect from this brand but I really like that. The container is glass with plastic lid. The product itself looks exactly as you would expect, finely ground sugar in a brown suspension. It smells yummy and sweet, it's thick enough to hold its shape on your finger and along with its oily consistency, has the ability to spread easily on your skin. I applied it to my chin, forehead and cheeks. I avoided the orbital area for obvious reasons. I rubbed in light circular movements all over and then let it sit for a few minutes. I then applied some water to my fingertips and exfoliated a wee bit longer. After I removed it all, my skin texture felt soft, fresh and smooth. I am totally rapt and will be popping this on my regular skincare list. I have used this several times now and like how my skin seems to have a fresher tone to it.
Tips: Avoid the eye area. Do not over exfoliate Follow with a soothing mask
