I was suprised by this as I HATE Vo5 shampoo and conditioner but this worked a treat. It doesnt turn my hair into a greasy mess, it makes my hair smooth and shiny and it smells divine. Because my straightener is a little old if I have to use a heat protectant and some just dont cut the mustard. This works well

My hairs quite badly damaged so when I straighten I always apply heat protection and I've tried lots f brands. They all seem much of a muchness though? This one left my hair a little stiff but that could be cause I applied to much or cause of my damage. But it's affordable and easy to use
Im new to heat protect in the hope of less damage for when heat styling. I cant be 100% sure on the results of it but boy does it smell great. I love to just spray even if I dont need to style. But the instructions say to add to towel dried hair which I find a bit of an inconvenience as I dont wash my hair every day therefore not everytime I want to style. So I use on dry hair and hope it has the same effect. Ive also seen the ads on this lately and she adds this after doing some heat styling also..... so it might just be more versatile than it leads us to be. Ive heard that silicone based products are the best but cannot see if this contains it. I would like to hope its doing its job but if its not, I havent noticed and my hair smells great
Tips: I add to dry hair as well as towel dried. I also just spray a little for a nice fragrance if I havent just washed my hair
Before finding the tresemme heat tamer protective spray i used to use the VO5 heat spray, its alot heavier than the tresemme so i would let me hair sit longer before using hot tools. Its not bad, i would use it again if i needed to.
I really like this. Smells amazing and keeps my hair actually feeling protected and smooth after it is subjected to heat. I would continue getting this product.
I have to admit I thought VO5 was crap. My sister got me this & swears VO5 is one of the better supermarket brands (she's a hairdresser). I really like this protectant spray! It smells divine, the bottle is easy to handle with 1 hand, it's not a heavy product so can be used with other products & it does leave a nice shine. Although it doesn't completely sort my frizz out - in saying that my hair is pretty damaged from being artificially blonde.
I've not far from finishing the bottle.
It smells good but why do the majority of VO5's styling/heat protect products smell like a male fragrance? I'd prefer something waaay more feminine. It is refreshing. But too male.
Bottle is a great shape and so is thr trigger, it never clogged on me.
It only takes a few seconds to spritz through.
For heat heat protection it's ok. I would use it if it's all I had left.
For shine factor after straightening. No , there wasn't an increased shine , like some products give.
Frizz free. Yes. I found it produces a slight powdery build up on the hair as well, when you run your fingers through I could feel the product. (perhaps I used too much?
Tips: Light spritz and comb well. prior to heat appliance.
I was never really one to use a heat protector on my hair when straightening because I was in denial that I was ruining my hair. I never used to be a person who straightened my hair all the time anyway so what was the point? I never really answered this question until I got a hair style that required straightening every single day. After a few weeks my hair started looking frizzier than usual and very dry. I now know I was frying my hair! This is when I scoured the supermarkets for a heat protector and one that reduced the frizz. Enter VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray.
For $8 I am all in with a grin. This is by far one of the cheaper alternatives and probably one of the best that I have used. I have had great success with VO5 products in the past so thought this one was going to be another slam dunk. I love the pink bottle this comes in. It looks very hairdresser-ish on my makeup draws. The spray bottle is perfect too because it distributes the spray in a big fan over my hair instead of in one spot like some. It smells chemically but it's a pleasant smell to have on my hair rather than burnt hair smell.
I spray this on my head five minutes before straightening so not to make it sizzle by straightening it straight after spraying on. Of course I was skeptical of this actually saving my hair from further damage but behold my frizzy bits were far more tame and my hair didn't smell of burnt hair afterwards. For such a small price I am hooked!
Tips: Spray on to hair five minutes before straightening to avoid the sizzling of the product and so that it has a chance to work
This is the heat protector I am currently using at the moment. It's lasted quite a long time. It's got a nice smell to it. It makes your hair feel softer and smoother after straightening. Only need to do a couple of sprays in each section. Doesn't leave your hair looking oily or flat either. Will def continue to use!
Tips: When straightening, tye hair up into sections and spray once and brush through! It comes out looking sleek and shiney
I use this product almost daily . It smells so fantastic and the scent stays on your hair all day long too :) its non greasy and protects the hair well . its also not too pricey and lasts a long while . protects coloured hair and fights frizz and flyaways !
