I really liked the clay mask packaging, I think the teal colour is very nice. I also like how it comes in a tub instead of tube. I always prefer face and hair masks in a tub as I find it is easier to get out and use up all of the product.
The clay mask is a creamy and thick textured item, like a thick body moisturiser. Other clay based products I have tried do not have a very nice scent to them but this one was very nicely scented and smells very fresh.
This mask is to be used before shampooing your hair, it says to cover your entire scalp at the roots with this mask then leave for 5 minutes before rinsing off in the shower then follow up with the shampoo. It is meant to absorb excess oils and dirt in your hair to help make it fresher.
I found this product quite difficult to apply as I am not use to using hair masks. I tried to apply it all over the scalp but got quite messy. It does rinse out very easy in the shower, I was surprised how quickly it did rinse out and was expecting it to take a lot longer to rinse out. It was hard to tell if this improved my hair and whether on its own it really makes a huge difference to my hair if I didn’t use the other items with it.
weird because i can't decide if i like it or not. i think i do but then other times i wonder.
my hair isn't an oil slick, so this mask isn't really targeted for me but it was on sale and i couldn't resist buying. the big bright REDUCED sticker on the label pulled me in. i'm a sucker for that sticker.
i waited until i needed to shampoo again, which wasn't a long wait. my hair was still passable as normal but i felt like i'd been plunged into BPs great oil spill blunder like all the poor wildlife had been. instructions are simple, apply to the scalp and let sit. easier said than done with unicorn hair.
like most masks, i knew this would wash out my color. i was NOT wrong. where this touched my bright hair, the color had all but faded into a light pastel, which was annoying as i hadn't long since redyed. it was also a bit of a pain to maneuver into hair because of my colorful predicament, but i managed to get the worst affected.
rinsed out, shampooed out and conditioned, my hair felt pretty awesome. the next time i tried it i didnt bother shampooing it out, i just put conditioner straight over. and you know, it worked even better. this was probably my preferred method of use, even if it did fade my hair slightly.
this is a weird but kinda good product. i dont think id purchase again as i wasnt a huge fan of the smell (herbally, medicinal... weird) but it did work. so. i guess i liked it!
