I've used this product both as a mask and conditioner. It's too heavy for my fine hair to use as a leave in product. This product smells delicious! It initially leaves my hair feeling soft and hydrated. However it doesn't last long. I wouldn't say it does any kind of repair on damaged/ dry hair.

Tips: Don't use as a leave in if you have fine hair. It is too heavy and will weigh your hair down.
This is by far my favorite hair food. It smells great and very natural. I use it as a hair mask and conditioner and it leaves my hair soft and very manageble.
Tips: Grea to use as a hair mask
I have recently gotten into a hair routine so I can maintain my wavy hair and keep it wavy. This stuff works wonders, smells so good i almost wanna eat it. I use it as a leave in product and i find that it can last for a few days
Tips: I find less is more, you dont need heaps
I'm also generous when using this product on my hair it definitely helps de-frizzes Mt hair making it curly and more manageable. Feels very healthy for my hair.
I have type 3a curly hair which reacts badly to shampoo. Garnier Fructis Hair Food Papaya not only leaves my hair feeling hydrated after washing, but replaces the need for any other products when washing my hair. I have only washed my hair using this hair food for years and my hair is as happy as ever
I was excited to try this product as the concept seems really fun and fresh. I tried it in all ways the tub suggested, and while I was pretty sceptical of its multi-use promise, I was pleasantly surprised.
The massive ‘98% natural’ on the lid was one of the first things I noticed. I wasn’t really a fan of that - felt a bit like Garnier was jumping on the ‘natural’ bandwagon for the sake of being on the bandwagon.
I did however find that it was an amazing scent (probably not natural, but very tropical so perfect for these cold Winter days) - reminds me of a Body Shop lipbalm I used to have - maybe the mango flavour. Might be a bit too much of a fruity/sweet mix for some, but I found it just right.
I loved that it was a huge tub, it contains so much product! We don’t have a shelf in the shower though so found it a little tricky to get the product out - was a couple of times where when trying to maneuver the tub and get the lid back on before water got in, the product slipped of my fingers and down the drain. Small price to pay though for the amount you get.
I was really surprised how nice my hair felt after using it post-shower and leaving it in. It felt very weird to do so considering in the days before I’d washed the same product out, but using a small amount didn’t weigh my hair down (just like it promised) or make it feel sticky. It actually did make my hair feel very smooth! I like that it advised on the tub how much to use and where to focus the product (mid length to ends) if you plan to use it as a leave in product, directions can never be too specific!
I wouldn’t bother using it in shower as a hair mask post-conditioner. It wasn’t too rich or as thick as most treatments, so I would save time and just use it as a conditioner (keep it in your hair for a minute or so), and/or post shower.
I love the concept - I would be keen to try the other ‘flavours’ in the range, if only for the scents (I bet the macadamia one smells amazing!). Plus, while RRP is still TBC, I’m sure it’ll be a great price for the huge amount of product you get It wasn’t a life changing product (I don’t know that I can feel it actually repairing my hair), but it’s certainly a nice addition to my hair care routine.
I was never really a garnier fan until I found this beauty! It was heavily discounted at my local Countdown (around $6) so I decided to buy it. And my gosh I am so glad I did! I’m actually disappointed that I didn’t grab a few more. I use this as a conditioner, hair mask and also as a styling product. My favourite is the leave in hair mask! Not only does it make my hair smell delicious (seriously good enough to eat) but leaving it in overnight, I always wake up with gorgeous wavy hair that (believe it or not) doesn’t need to be brushed! It seriously blows me away at how amazing this product is with my hair! After every use my hair always looks vibrant and fresh and gorgeously wavy. I’m not sure what kind of sourcery this is but I am 100% here for it! I can’t wait to try the other scents!!
Tips: Wash your hair with this product first, and then re apply a small amount to damp hair. It’s magical!
I got this about 4 months ago and used it once a week for a few months and noticed no changes other than a lovely smell. I found this to make my hair feel a little flat and greasy but maybe thats just me? It is very cheap which is great and I am sure for some people work. I think this was a flop as my hair is very thick maybe?
The smell of this is beautiful I just wish the smell lingered when you wash it out Nice thick mask it does make the hair feel silky smooth I feel like all the masks in this range are very similar im not sure if anyone is better than the other but they are still nice
I figured the Garnier Hair Food products were all mostly the same, so I unashamedly chose the one which I liked the smell of the most. Unfortunately this proved to be a poor decision, because I ended up finding it smelt kind of like sick… maybe that’s just me though.
As a hair mask it felt like a standard conditioner. It didn’t give any added benefits. So I used up the tub and elected to not repurchase.
The one good thing is that it is a generous size tub for a low price point.
