L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo Review

This shampoo really surprised me. My hair is fine, and no matter what i've done in the past, my colour always fades quickly. Just before trying this shampoo I had had my hair dyed, and expected it to be the same as every other time, fading quickly after getting it done. This shampoo didn't fade my colour at all, and the colour still looks the same as when I had it done! I'm amazed, as other 'colour saving' shampoos I've tried havent lived up to their expectations. This also left my hair soft and super shiny, as well as looking less frizzy than it usually is, when used with the conditioner. Will definitely continue to use this shampoo.

I tried this Shampoo after just colouring my hair a week earlier. The smell was really nice and it left my hair feeling and looking shiny and healthy. As far as colour preservation for 28 washes goes I wouldn't be too confident that this is true I haven't noticed a lot with my hair.

i thought the smell of shampoo was ok could have been nicer , shampoo foamed up really well and my hair felt very clean afterwards (I gave it two shampoos) used with conditioner which made my hair feel soft and silky afterwards. my colour was fading before I used this product and it brightened my colour and made it look better :)

I loved the feel of my hair after using this shampoo. It bubbled up nicely, and washed out well, but must of helped maintain my colour as after two weeks I am still getting comments about the colour of my hair. Works well with the conditioner.

I get bored with shampoo and conditioner on a regular basis, which is why I tend to chop and change quite a bit. I had found a brand I really enjoyed but loved the opportunity to try this shampoo!

It made my hair feel incredible - soft and easy to style. It was hard to tell the effect it had on my colour as it's due to be redone, but it did feel like the colour didn't deteriorate as quickly as it normally would.

I would definitely buy this again and would recommend it to others.

Used in conjuction with the conditoner. Size was 250ml in a lovely bright red container. Colour used by other brands to denote colour shampoo. The shampoo has a pleasant fragrance, not overwelming. I used about a size of a $1 coin for my short, thick hair. I love how my hair sqeeked afterwards, i feel that means it is clean if it does that. The shampoo was nice and thick. I normally wash my hair every two days, however one day I didn't and I could actually smell my unwashed hair which was mortifying. So not impressed with that. The shampoo is sold in a variety of shops at $8.99 which is more than what I would pay for a shampoo. I am not sure if I would use it again after the smell of unwashed hair greeted me.

This came at a great time as I had just freshly had my hair dyed three days prior to this trial. My color of choice is red with bright red copper highlights. In the first week it made my hair so lovely and soft feeling for the first three washes (not washed every day) but almost I would see quite aa bit more color wash out than I would have liked. Fast forward to the end of the trial time and my hair is dry and the color is now lifeless and dull. So more than disappointed and would not recommend this to anymore who has red dyed hair.

I colour my hair every six to eight weeks and have been trying to find a product that not only protects and prolongs my colour but also nourishes and keeps my hair looking shiny and healthy - needless to say I was incredibly excited to receive this product to try out and I have not been disappointed.

First off I love the packaging, it is classy and gives you the impression that the product you are about to use is of good quality.

The formula is great! A little shampoo goes a long way, it works up into a great lather and I really felt like I could work it into my hair and scalp to get a good clean! I have had no issues with rinsing and getting all of the shampoo out.

The fragrance is devine, really clean and fresh.

As for the colour protection/prolonging part, so far I am quite happy - I wash my hair every second day and after two weeks of use, I have had very little fading of my colour - definitely a lot less than I have had in the past when I use "normal" shampoo's.

All in all I am very happy with this shampoo and the way my hair looks and feels after using it - I will definitely continue using this product.

I was really excited to be picked for this trial, as having coloured my hair for some time now I am always looking for products to help prolong my colour.

I really liked the subtle fragrance of the shampoo, and the fact that you don't have to use a lot of it to get a result, making it an economical option.

What I particularly liked about the L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo is that it seems quite concentrated, in that it doesn't lather up hugely, meaning it is not full of detergents, but rather product that aims to make a concentrated effort to clean your hair. I was also impressed by the fact that once the shampoo was rinsed out my hair felt soft and silky, so many other shampoos leave you hair feeling dry and stringy after they are washed out.

The Shampoo's stated aim is to seal colour, protect hair and prolong radiance. I feel like it delivered on these aims for the most part. I was concerned to see that when I rinsed my hair the first time I used it, my colour was in the foam. Now to be fair, this may be because of the colour I used, rather than the product. Over the weeks of using it I did see more regrowth appearing, but once again I am fairly convinced that says more about the colour product I used than the shampoo and conditioner. The rest of my colour maintained it's strength in colour, with no fade occurring - and I do dye it black, so it's a strong colour to keep.

My local supermarket retails this product for $6.59 which I think represents excellent value for money, and is the reason I would purchase it in the future.

I really liked this product, to test this out my hair had recently been streaked blonde which does usually tend to fade out nicely as it grows.

This product had a nice consistency wasn't too liquidy and lathered up nicely. I only needed a small amount of this product. This shampoo combined with the conditioner left my hair smooth and easy to brush.

The packaging was nice and sleek and looks lovely in my shower, the lid is easy to open. This product smells amazing and very much like a salon shampoo, the scent also lasts through to when my hair is dry.

I don't think this shampoo fully protected my colour but it hasn't faded as much as when I use other shampoos.
