L'Oreal Paris Elvive Arginine Resist Conditioner

I was so extremely excited to review this anti-hair fall conditioner as I seem to have a problem with hair loss through washing, combing and even hair snapping as I wear my hair up alot. I rated this a 2 for 'would you use it again' as I would use it again for a general conditioner but not for what it is marketed for. I don't feel I got the results I was to believe I would get. A bit disappointing all round. This conditioner smells great, and it makes my hair feel soft afterwards, but I almost get an unfortunate oily look or feel to my hair after I have straightened it. I cant say that I noticed any difference to my hair strength at all, and I still get the same amount of hair fall and breakage. I still end up with a small handful of hair falling out per wash. I have used cheaper brands and received better results.

Not so irResistable

This stuff smells amazing! And makes my hair smell amazing afterwards too! I even got some compliments on how good my hair smelt. The bottle is well designed, it is easy to squeeze out the right amount of product without dropping it and it felt nice to hold. The colour scheme is really clean, the black and the pink look good together and stand out amongst other products I own. The texture is nice; creamy and smooth and easily glided into my hair. However, I found that the first couple of times I used this conditioner, the ends of my hair felt more dry, which was disappointing. Over the course of the three weeks that I have been using this product, the dryness has decreased, but I didn't find it as nourishing as I would have liked. I didn't really find this affected my hair fall, I haven't noticed any difference since I started using this conditioner, which also disappointed me, as it says that it is an anti hair fall conditioner. I have really long, thick hair, and I get a lot of fall out, so I was really hoping that this product would decrease my hair fall out. Overall, I was disappointed with this conditioner, as I didn't notice any particular nourishing qualities, and my hair fall was not affected, which is the main target of this product. I would not purchase this, but I will continue to use it, as a general conditioner, and secretly hoping for it to improve my hair fall.

Tips: Only apply to the ends/lengths if hair, and use a small amount, because a little goes a long way!

Conditioned but not resistant

The L'Oreal Paris Elvive Arginine Resist Conditioner did not do all it was meant too!! Hair fall is a major problem for me, particularly in the shower and I was really excited to try this product. However it made little to no difference. It was a good conditioner, had a pleasant smell and consistancy but it didnt leave my hair stronger. Maybe the trial wasnt long enough, and hopefully I notice a difference in the next month or so but currently I would use it again just as a conditioner but would not recommend it for its reistance to hair fall tagline.

Meh x2

I've been noticing my hair falling out a lot recently, so when I was asked to trial this product I thought 'hey, what do I have to lose'. The design of the bottle is great in that you can have it on its lid so the conditioner just slips on out. The instructions are easy to read, so it makes it super easy to use. I used this product like I would any other Conditioner. Unfortunately for me I did not notice any difference in the falling of my hair. Which is disappointing. If you're noticing your hair falling, definitely try the shampoo and conditioner, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for other people.

Greasy, flat hair.

I really disliked this conditioner. I lose a lot of hair, always have (mostly because I have a lot!) I have a pet hair vacuum cleaner and no pets!! This product reminded me that hair regenerates, it's meant to shed! I used the shampoo and conditioner together. It felt as though I'd washed my hair in oil. I liked the frizz free effect at first, my hair was very smooth: but oily smooth, not soft smooth. I went from washing my hair weekly to every second day just to stay fresh. And I didn't notice any reduction in hair fall. Possibly a bit less on the clothes but more in the shower!

Tips: Stay away!

Arginine Resist Conditioner

Oh goodness, I did not like this stuff at all! The only positive is the packaging. Like the shampoo, the colour scheme is eyecatching & sleek. That is wear the positivity in this review ends for me. Lets start with the smell. Oh dear god, the smell. It is vile. It made me want to be sick. It has a strong chemical smell, mixed with I don't even know what, but it is awful. I powered through the smell to see if the products end results were worth it. They were not. The consistency is extremely thick. Too thick - as opposed to the shampoo that was too thin. I like a thick conditioner, as in my experience, it seems to give an all around better result, but this was so thick, & it didn't seem to make the product any better. It didn't condition my hair in any sense of the word. My hair was not soft. Not smooth. Not conditioned! It was dry, it was prone to knotting (which is insane, as I have a pixie cut so my hair never knots!) & I noticed that my hair actually seemed to get almost greasy the next day, causing me to need to wash it every day - which I have never had to do in my life! If I washed it in the morning, by night it was oily and awful to touch, & if I washed it at night, by morning I had the same results. As mentioned in my shampoo review, I had a really bad allergic reaction to this duo, & I will not be using the remainder of the bottles. I absolutely hated this product.

Tips: This conditioner doesn't do anything for my hair at all - if you don't suffer from an allergic reaction like I did, I suggest using only the shampoo as it actually does reduce breakage and fallout, & just use your regular conditioner.

Instructions?!!

When I first heard that this conditioner prevented/reduced hair fall I was very sceptical but I was hoping to be proved wrong. Unfortunately I wasn’t…

The packaging looked very nice & sleek in the black & pink. I liked the fact that the bottles are oval shaped and not round, saving space on my small shower shelf!

Using the conditioner I was quite annoyed that there wasn’t any directions on the back! Where should I be concentrating the product, towards the scalp or the ends? For best results do I rinse it out straight away or leave it in for a few minutes? How often should I be conditioning my hair? Thought it was very strange for a conditioner not to have anything like this on the back of the packaging!

I ended up using the conditioner all over my hair leaving it in for a few minutes before rinsing. After a few washes I found that my hair was left feeling very dry on the ends and was tempted to go back to my other conditioner, which I didn’t for the sake of the trial. I didn’t find any difference with hair fall, I’m still moulting all over the place!

I hate wastage but I think I will be going back to using my other conditioner, can’t stand looking at my poor dry ends any longer.

Tips: Leave in for a few minutes before rinsing, only use every other time you wash your hair. Buy on special in case you don’t end up liking it!

Stylish packaging

My hair is very damaged from colouring and also heat damage, I also have a lot of hair falling out (not too much of a biggy as I have a lot of hair) so I was very keen to try this product out. The package is eye catching being pink and black and is good value for the money. Unfortunately this product was not the best for my hair type, the conditioner did not seem to moisturise my hair enough the ends looked dry and lifeless after conditioning. The plus side is I could last 3-4 days without washing my hair and it still didn't look oily, but I did need to use other products like a hair mask and then a leave in oil to stop it looking so dry. I will not be buying this product again as it did not give my hair enough moisture, it ended up looked dull and lifeless.

Tips: Use a hair mask and leave in oil to keep hair looking healthy and shiny

L'Oreal Elvive Arginine Resist Conditioner

I received this product free from Beauty Review at the end of July, and have been using it most days since, after the matching shampoo. While it did a decent job, I'm not convinced that it did what it was supposed to in terms of preventing hair fall, and in my case it caused a greater problem than it attempted to solve. Firstly, as it's own instruction say, it should be applied only to the lengths and ends of the hair. So it goes nowhere near the roots of the hair, and therefore it can't have any effect on the nourishment of the bulb. So it's ability to prevent hair fall, if used according to the instructions, is nil. Secondly, I found that you cannot use this conditioner and any styling product afterwards, it just makes your hair stringy and greasy by the middle of the afternoon. While the conditioner itself doesn't leave hair oily, it doesn't play well with other products. As with the shampoo, the product is good at detangling hair, and that's a useful quality, but it doesn't make up for its deficiencies in manageability. As I said in my shampoo review, the colour and design of the bottle is pretty unattractive. In this case, it also opens from the bottom, which I found problematic as it got a bit messy on the shelf.

Tips: As a detangling conditioner, this would be quite handy, but only if you don't intend to style afterwards.

L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Arginine Resist Conditioner R

I have used this product along with the shampoo for a couple of weeks. Lovely smell. Nice packaging. Product had a lovely smell. Made my hair feel soft but this product was not as intense as my usual conditioner and I feel that I need a heavier conditioner. Did not notice any less hair fallout.

Tips: Need to use quite a bit of the product if your hair is generally very dry.
