Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Treatment

I love this product. I have been using it for years. I use it once a week or fortnight to take the brassy tones out if my beach streaked hair. It leaves my hair such a pretty colour and also leaves it feeling amazing!

Bit of background: I have darker blonde hair that I bleach once every two months to go platinum. My hair tends to go brassy/yellow and has become quite dry, brittle, and falls out; so I was very excited to trial this product. Other purple products just don’t do it for me.

Jumping right in…

Packaging: comes in a 200ml 100% recyclable squeeze bottle. Price: expensive as far as treatments go, so you would expect this to really do what it says it will do. Consistency: creamy, deep purple, spreadable. Fragrance: a nice, subtle fragrance that does not linger long or transfer to clothes or bedding. Application and coverage: easy to apply throughout my medium length hair, just a dollop work through for a wee while does the trick. Can stain your hands for a bit but that washes off as you continue showering. Results: great results! The entire range is super strong which is impressive, however it’s so strong that it tends to dye my platinum blonde bits purpler, so be careful of this. Try not to leave these products in for too long. In saying that, the brassy bits have become much lighter, my hair IS shinier and stronger (even after the first wash). It doesn’t weight your hair down at all, and really helps with the damage caused by hair dye.

On the positive side this is a salon-quality treatment that's easy to use and provides noticeable results after just one use. It has a pleasant scent and doesn't leave any residue or weigh down your hair. Additionally, its violet pigments help to neutralize brassy tones and keep your blonde hair looking fresh and vibrant.

For me I want a treatment to make my hair super soft and while this does make my hair feel nice, it has no extra oomph to using a conditioner.

I would use it again, but it wouldn't be my go-to treatment.

I have been let down by many treatments before and thought considering this wasn't at a high price point I may not find much value in the product, however, I was surprised to notice my hair actually was significantly smoother after using the treatment. I had a nice light feel which is perfect as I have hair more on the oily and flat/thin side, and did notice my hair was more toned. The baby hairs and broken ends weren't as noticeable so I definitely think it lives up to the claims of smoothing and having a healthier appearance. However, while I did think the smell was really nice from the bottle - on the floral side of things - it said my hair would stay smelling like that and I didn't notice any difference in that area.

All in all, I think it's a decent treatment at an affordable price and I can see myself continuing to use it.

I really wanted to love this treatment as it would cover all the bases-toning and moisture treatment all in one. I found it was a nice texture, it massaged in nicely and washed out well. In conjunction with the other two products my hair is toned to perfection. I did not find it particularly moisturising and my hair felt quite dry. I am interested to use it alongside other shampoo to see how it performs (unfortunately trial timeframe hasn’t given me time for that but will add to this later!)

This treatment mostly does what it says it does, and it's a great product to use alongside the Fudge Clean Blonde Damage Rewind Shampoo and Conditioner. I would recommend it to anyone who has damaged blonde hair, but I'm still on the fence about how much I love it compared to the Shampoo and Conditioner in the same range. After one use I did notice a difference in the tone of my hair, the brassiness was definitely gone, and it did feel stronger, but it didn't really feel as hydrated as I'd hoped. My hair felt a bit dry and frizzy and when wet, was left with the fragrance which to me, was a bit more of a chemically smell as opposed to the lovely fragrance of the Damage Rewind shampoo and conditioner. As far as usage goes, it's definitely easy to use and the consistency isn't bad. I'm not sure I would use it with every wash though just for the fact that I don't like the smell and my hair felt softer without it. But in saying that, it mostly does what it says it does, so I can't really complain!

I thought that this product would be a conditioning treatment as well as a treatment but I was a bit dismayed to find it is only a purple treatment. I found that using this product as well as the purple shampoo was a bit overkill. If you JUST got this product and didn't get the other ones that would work ok. I found that it made my hair definitely more toned and less yellow/brassy. I really liked the smell and it was a cool purple bottle. For the price? I personally wouldn't buy it again, as I usually go for the purple shampoo. I feel it needs to be a conditioning treatment as well for me to justify it.

I thought after the other two products I would be bowled over by this. I really felt there was no difference to the conditioner. My hair didn't feel any more smoother, sleeker or less brassy. I did straighten my hair this time so I could get a better look at the colour and texture. I am happy with how my hair feels and looks but not sure the deep conditioning treatment did this. I also felt the instructions on the tube weren't really clear and seemed to be a repeat of the conditioners instructions.

This is such a dark purple colour in the tube that I was a bit nervous to put it on my naturally light blond hair and while it did whiten the yellowness in my hair it also made the lightest blonde parts go a light purple colour even when I just washed it straight out rather than leave it on for the recommended time.

I was worried the fragrance would be too much after reading it uses FragranceFuse technology but it wasn’t very noticeable once my hair was dry.

I can’t say I noticed my hair was any softer or smoother if anything it felt a little bit dried out.
