I was quite skeptical of this product as I had tried another version of this last year and it was a disaster. I was pleasantly surprised with the oil free variety, I have a very oily t-zone and this BB cream matched my skin tone (light) perfectly, gave great light/medium coverage and kept me relatively matte all day.
The product feels light on the skin and gives a nice finish. I haven't noticed any difference in my skin though, but it is a fantastic product for everyday use.
Tips: I prefer to use my fingers to apply as the product was easily lost in my brush.
For me I apply this over face oil or a moisturizer as I don't feel I get enough moisture from this bb cream alone
I was excited to try this Garnier bb cream as I haven't had much experience with bb cream, only trying one other bb cream in the past. I, like many others were part of the big trial for beauty review on the Garnier bb creams, lucky me! (Yay)
First of all, the packaging is in a long tube with the distinctive Garnier look. I think it looks quite stylish and rather high-end. When I opened the tube for the first time a huge amount came out, so I think in this case a pump would have been a better option and mean less wastage of product.
The consistency is similar to that of a liquid foundation, and my first thoughts was that I'm so glad I got the right colour of light for my pale skin. I decided to apply the bb cream using my Real Techniques brush, which I'm absolutely loving at the moment!
Using the RT brush I buffed the bb cream into my face, starting from my cheek and moving all across my face. After I finished the application I was rather surprised at the good coverage it had, I really didn't expect bb creams to be this effective.
What I really loved was the light feeling of this on my skin, it feels like I'm not wearing anything and has a lovely satin like finish on my skin. I'm impressed with bb cream and felt like it really gave me a natural, lovely finish.
Towards the end of the day, the bb cream had faded off in areas around my face, like my t zone. However, as its a bb cream I wouldn't expect it to have the longevity of a longwearing foundation.
I'm still a lover of my medium-full coverage foundations (Clinique Even Better and Nars Sheer Glow) so bb cream won't be surpassing these anytime soon. But, I see this Garnier bb cream will be perfect for days that I'm just going to be staying at home and want a more light, natural finish.
Overall, I'm really impressed with this bb cream and think it will definitely be a staple of mine going forward.
Tips: Great for days when you don't feel like wearing foundation. Feels so light on the skin
Im not usually an overall fan of bb creams due to their lack ofe coverage I find that this one covers any redness very well and conceals well, the overall texture is very thin and runny not something that I am acostumed to using/wearing the formula seems to be very long wearing and does not melt towards the wnd of the day
overall I think that this bb cream does its job very well and the only dislike I have about it is the texture but that changes once applied to the skin anyway also this bb makes a really good primer/ base for foundation its a win/win from me xx
I've been using BB cream on a daily basis for over a year now, so I was excited to try this one out. I found it quite good, it gives me a good thin coverage (doesn't exactly hide blemishes but sort of blends everything in and gives me a more even tone). Two things I noted though: Even though I ordered the lightest colour, it is still a bit too dark for my skin, so for very fair people out there, they may find the same problem. Also, the product is very liquidy and I found when I opened the lid it drips out all over the place and it's difficult to control how much comes out. Overall, I'm happy with it, but I think I'll stick with my usual BB cream as the shade suits my skin better.
Tips: Be careful when you open the lid! It may drip everywhere :)
I have combo skin - I'm generally prone to dry patches on my cheeks, the sides of my nose and my forehead. My nose and chin on the other hand are oily. I'm also prone to redness, I guess it's the English in me!
First impressions - product comes in a box, whilst I'm not a fan of extra packaging, the box is full of product information. This BB Cream is in a different packaging to the rest of the range, it's a slender, long tube with a screw lid, which I do prefer to the clip tops. (I'm heavy handed, and always snap clip tops off) My only gripe is the product does come out of the tube rather fast!
I love BB Cream and I usually go for a medium shade, but as it's Winter I decided to opt for light. Brilliant choice - it's a great match for my skin, and blends well. The product itself is quite runny, which I've not experienced in a BB cream before, but it does make the application really quick and blending easy.
It smells a little like sunscreen, which given it's got SPF in it you can't really complain!
Ok, results time.
Upon first application (after my usual moisturising routine) I found the product easy to apply and blend. The finish was matte, without being flat and dull, and I felt it covered my rosy cheeks really well. However it did cling to the sides of my nose, leaving a flaky finish. Luckily I wasn't leaving the house! My face stayed oil free until my evening shower.
Second time round I really moisturised my face, and applied a primer first. (L'Oreal Lumi Magic, aka, the most amazing primer in the world). I then applied the BB cream to everywhere except my nose crevices. I mixed a little moisturiser with a little BB cream and used the mixture on that area. It worked a treat. Again the finish was sheer and light, not too matte and lasted really well through the day.
I love this BB Cream, being fussy I'd want it to be a bit more rich in moisture, but it's an easy fix by adding my usual moisturiser,
Tips: If you don't get the result you want first time around, play around with it.
Primer makes a huge difference to the application of the product.
I love this product.It is affordable and available in any supermarket and chemist. For a BB cream, it offers light to full coverage but still manages to feel light on the skin. I used this at work and it manages to stay on without wearing off for at least 8 hours. It does control oil most of the time. It is plus points in convenience as I dont have to use concealer anymore to even it out. It is perfect for me as I am in a rush most mornings.the formula though is very runny so I have to be careful in storing and opening it. I will definitely buy this product again.
Its brilliant to see Garnier is now catering to more skin types. While I am loving this product there are still a few things that are in need of a little fine tuning. To start, the slim design of the bottle is great to pop in your handbag or if you're like me and have a counter packed with products it slips in nicely without taking up much room. Unfortunately when you go to open the lid it is best to face the nozzle upwards, otherwise the procduct tends to ooze or even explode out of the tube and make a mess so be aware. The product itself is on the runny side but its smoothes on nice and evenly and it really does give great coverage, so for those who match the colour tone it could be used as your everyday makeup. It gives your skin a lovely smooth, matte look and feels very light to wear. A down side is the choice of only two shades, unfortunately the medium colour is far to dark and the light is too light for me, for this review I had the medium and had to go over with a light foundation. In conclusion it is an amazing product, if there were a few more shade options and the tube was worked on a bit more it would be close to a perfect :)
Tips: Be sure to face tip upwards and dont apply too much pressure to the tube when opening. If not quite your shade it can be easily mixed with a lighter or darker shade of BB cream or foundation to perfect. Works great as a base or primer for your regular makeup routine.
this bb cream was the first bb cream i had ever tried. I think it worked rather well but sometimes it would make my skin dry out. But to be fair that was only a few times out it, most of the time it was great. Nice light coverage and barely felt like i was wearing anything. My go to replacement for foundation when i wanted to look good but kind of be good to my skin and have a more natural coverage.
I am a convert to BB creams. This cream came in a great easy to use tube with a small nozzle..to stop people like me squirting out far to much at a time. I found a little went a long way and it was easy to apply and provided great and even coverage covering those wee skin imperfections and leaving me looking glowing...not shiny.
My face had a lovely matte finish, no oil and no shine! It lasted all day long and was easy enough to remove at the end of the day. Indeed I am a convert....or perhaps at my age it's time to try the cc creams......thank you Garmier
Tips: No need to give the tube a good squeeze because a little goes a very long way
I was very skeptical about this cream as I do not generally have good experiences with liquid or cream foundations/concealers/cover-ups. But this far succeeded my expectations. I was expecting to have a hard time colour matching with my skin and that it would leave residue on my skin, but I was wrong. This cream glided on smoothly and blended well with my skin tone. More importantly the oil-slick effect I was expecting was non-existant. It was not oily at all, nor dry and crinkly like other creams made for combination skin. It really does leave a beautiful matte finish, and covers my darks circles quite well with out drowning my face in make-up. All in all a great cream for those with combo-skin wanting to smooth out imperfections!.
