GARNIER'S new BB Cream,  combats shiny, oily skin, by combining the power of ultra-absorbent mineral pigments for an immediate matte look and perfect, even-toned skin.

The oil-free BB cream works in five ways. It reduces imperfections, moisturises, gives skin a healthy glow, delivers a beautiful matte finish to skin and provides all-important sun protection with SPF 15.

GARNIER'S Oil-free BB Cream provides instant results while also improving the skin’s quality over time. After four weeks the results are clearly visible; skin is less oily, pores reduced in size, imperfections are visibly reduced and skin radiance is improved.

It has a  new active ingredient,  Mineral perlite - a powerful volcanic rock extract known for its ultra-absorbing properties.

Mineral perlite is able to retain up to two-and-a-half times its weight in oil and water and is five times more absorbing than talc, meaning any excess sebum is absorbed to fight that oily shine. This combined with uncoated mineral pigments gives the skin an even tone and a perfectly matte finish

GARNIER Miracle Skin Perfector-Oil-free BB cream is available in two shades - light and medium.

Not for me

For starters I have fairly oily skin most of the time, I am prone to breakouts (have terrible ones at the moment) My pores are quite noticeable and I have acne scars.

The packaging is OK, the tube is longer than the other ones in the range I think, and longer and thinner than other BBs I have. The product itself was a lot runnier than I expected, so I made a bit of a mess when I first opened it. I'm not a big fan of the smell, there seemed to be a chemical like undertone to it which put me off a bit.

I tried different ways to apply it over the days I trialed it, I found that putting it on with my fingers then buffing it out with the beauty blender worked quite well for an even coverage. The first day I trialed with no primer or powder, I was just around home - which was good because the coverage is fairly light. You can build it a little, but I found the thicker I went the more orange I went (I used light and it is definitely not a good match for my skin, I think I would need an even lighter shade). It also didn't last very long before it was looking patchy (it dries to a powdery finish and it's a bit like it draws into certain spots leaving others barer.)

With primer and powder the coverage was a little better and I was able to take some of the orange out with a light powder, but the colour definitely isn't a very good match for my skin. It also ended up a little cakey on my chin and upper lip, but a lot of products seem to do this for me.

I don't feel that it matches up to some of it's claims - I still went shiny. It wasn't enough coverage for my blemishes and my skin felt really dry at the end of the day. Also, after the trial I've broken out pretty badly, because the only thing I changed in my routine was this BB cream I think it is linked unfortunately.

Based on my experience it wouldn't be the first one that I recommended, but for someone who's skin matched the colouring and had fairly clear skin, it would probably be OK for a light coverage.

Tips: Use the beauty blender (or similar) to dab the product out across your skin for a nice finish.

Great bang for your buck

I have a love-hate relationship with BB creams; while I love the concept of them, I have never been able to find one suitable for me... Until now.

When I first looked at the packaging, it clearly stated its target user: fair skinned people with oily-combination skin. As a 30-something woman who still has a terrible t-zone, I figured I was in their demographic. The packaging also had clear directions, which i find incredibly useful so that I can make sure I'm using it as intended.

As the direction stated, I first washed my face, then applied the bb cream using my freshly washed fingers. At first application, I was impressed! Firstly, the color was light enough for my skin; a rarity among most bb creams I've tried. It a bit more on the yellow/orange hue, but not dramatically when blended well. Secondly, it did a great job at making my skin tone even and minimising redness (possibly due to the yellow hue) To reduce redness further, I applied a second coat as directed to by the directions. This helped coverage further, but with a natural appearance.

What really impressed me with the bb cream was its wearability. Not only did it matte the oily sections, it didn't feel overly dry on the other sections. Throughout the day, the bb cream stayed in place and didn't streak off, even when I touched my face. I've worn it both with and without a translucent powder, and the powder obviously protects it further, the by itself it stays on very well. I look forward to trying this in warmer weather to see if it still holds true.

Over all, I'm very impressed. I think I found my new go-to bb cream!!

Tips: It is quick to come out of the bottle, so be careful!! Also, a little goes a long way, so start with a bit and build it up if needed. Blend lots!!

Super Pleasing Experience

I love this product. My skin is combination - the classic T zone - but also quite mature and with a few redish patches so I have a challenge managing the shine and pigmentation without losing the glow. This BB cream goes a long way to addressing my issues. I found the tube with the fine tip made it easy to apply the right amount. The consistency was more watery than I expected, but it still provided a great cover and went on easily. I just squirted a very small amount (about half a pea-size) into the palm of my hand, and used my fingers to apply. Fragrance free. I used the product both as a foundation on its own with powder finish and as a primer before my regular foundation. Used on its own, the shine was kept under control for a good 4 hours. I then blotted and put on some more powder and was good for the rest of the day. Used as a primer, the finish was even better (but a more formal make up look) and lasted longer. I haven't used the product long enough to know if it has long term benefits, but as a day to day pore-refiner and cover, this is easily the best product I have used. I don't know how much it costs as I was lucky enough to be chosen for the trial, but as this product is availabe in supermarkets, I'm betting it is much more reasonably priced than my more expensive beauty counter product. I'll be using this BB cream from now on.

Tips: Just use a tiny amount. A second "spot" application over a couple of red patches covered them completely without looking caked on. Great as a primer under your regular foundation for a more formal makeup.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream

Firstly a confession ... I chose the Medium colour when I probably should have chosen Light. So the colour was a little bit wrong (orange) on me, but I persisted anyway. It went on easily, although it was a little more runny than I'd expected. It didn't really smell of anything, which was nice. It stayed well on my face during the day, and covered most blemishes and dark areas. I will definitely keep on using it, although I might buy the Light shade for the future.

Tips: Be careful the first time you use it, it's a bit runny.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-free S

I use a Mineral powder religiously so was a bit nervous about using this, also as my skin is so fair even the lightest option sometimes isn’t right.

I applied with a foundation brush, as it seemed quite thick. I liked the feel of it on my skin and the dewy look but the colour just wasn’t quite right for my complexion. It has a nice fragrance and it definitely gives a 'not wearing make-up but wearing something kind of look' which is good when you just want to wear the absolute minimum.

I personally think this product is more of a summer thing, as it would suit my colouring a bit better once I had some sun.

The packaging is nice, and is very reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to recommend this product but maybe not for all the lovely ladies with a porcelain complexion!

Tips: If your current foundation is a little too dark now that it's winter, you can mix a little BB cream in to lighten it up. Also, if you are going for 'no make-up make-up' then make sure you use cream blush with this not powder. Got these tips from a recent mag and they are great!

Absolutely amazing product

I was so lucky to be sent this as a trial, I've been useing it everyday for the last week and it is truely amazing! It really is perfecting! I've used it in place of my normal foundation. It cuts my 'getting ready time' in half! It looks like I'm wearing a light foundation that evens out my skin tone and makes my skin look so radiant, glowy and healthy. The first time I wore it my husband commented how lovely my skin looked and asked what I'd done differently! He said it looked nicer and more natural than my every day foundation! It's even buildable and you can apply more for added coverage. The consistency is quite runny, but in a good way, as soon as it's rubbed into your skin it mattifies and sets so well. It took away any redness in my cheeks. It lasts all day and doesn't wear off or become patchy. It's fantastic for oily skin, my skin can tend to become quite shiny after a few hours but not with the Garnier oil free bb cream. I love it so much and I'll continue useing it. I will definitely be buying more when I run out.

Love love love Garnier BB Cream

I am a first time user of BB Cream, and so was completely new to how, when and why to use. The information on the pack was clear, and made some great claims so I was excited to try it. From the first time I used the cream, it did everything it said it would - my skintone looked more even and felt soft to touch. It helped control my oily T Zone. I used it both as a base to my foundation, and also by itself (which I never do!). The coverage and appearance of my skin after using it made me feel confident to go without a full foundation layer. I would recommend to everyone who wants their skin to look even and balanced.

Tips: To get additional coverage, without using full foundation, you can simply wait for the first layer to set in, and then apply another layer over the top.

Garnier BB Cream

I loved this. My skin is usually dry on my forehead, but I always have spots and oily parts on my chin, but the cream covered this up without looking caked on and heavy. It also lasted and still looked good at the end of my long days working in a busy cafe as well, which not much makeup survives, so I was really impressed. The cream is quite runny, it did come out of the tube very fast. But it was easy to apply and didn't require much fussing around with blending. It gave a nice matte finish, and evened out my many freckles. I will definately continue to use this product. I got so many compliments on my skin during this trial period!

Tips: If your skin is a little bit dry in places, I mixed the BB cream with a little moisturiser. I still got a good coverage, but no scaly patches

Look no further for the perfect BB Cream!

I love this BB cream, I have tried many different brands and I think I have finally found one I can stick with. I usually have slightly oily, sensitive skin and found this really good for my skin type. My usual oiliness was not even evident and it gave me a beautiful matte finish which lasted for a long time. Even though it reduced shininess I still think it gave a really natural looking glow - which was not oil at all!

I love how Garnier brought out two different shades as usually I struggle to find BB creams that are light enough for me and found this one really matched my skintone.

I thought the formula was really lightweight and felt like I was wearing nothing on my face which is something I find really important in BB creams as often I get a bit sick of wearing heavier foundations. I also found it great that it had an SPF because I tend to get freckles when out in the sun.

Lately I have had a bit of acne and found the BB really great because it wasn't too heavy and didn't sit on top of the pimples like usual foundations would.

Overall, would definitely recommend and even buy again myself.

Garnier BB

I actually typed up and posted this review on Saturday, but it doesn't seem to have gone through, so I will try again, hopefully I can remember it all!

I was very keen to try this BB cream as I absolutely loath the original one, so when BR offered it up, I jumped at the chance.

The first thing I noticed about this BB cream is its consistency, it is very, very runny (similar to my Bourjois CC cream). You need to be careful when using it as it will leak all over your counter top. It has a pleasant fragrance, hard to describe it really, but not overpowering.

It promises to give a full matte coverage, but I would say it is a medium matte coverage. Still pretty good for a BB cream. I used x1 pea sized amount for medium coverage, and built it up to full coverage with x1 pea sized amounts if required. The consistency meant it was really easy to apply and it blended out nicely with no patches. I just apply it with my hands like I would my moisturiser.

It also claims to hide imperfections, which it did to to a certain extent, but I still needed a concealer for any stubborn spots, and for under my eyes. As far as its claim to "reduce pores" I think that is near on impossible, your pores are your pores you can't do much to change them, but the product does gloss over them temporarily while you're wearing it.

I did find that after using this for a week that I actually broke out, so will stop using it for a while and see if my face clears up. I also found that it stung my eyes right after I applied it, which is unusual for me, beauty products don't usually affect my eyes at all. It is a shame I've broken out as I wouid like to test it for the full 4 weeks to see if it lives up to its other claims of less oily skin and more radiance.

The product has pretty good staying power, which was increased by the use of a primer. It kept up its matte finish for most of the day, which is impressive as my face is usually a bit of an oil slick by 5pm!

All in all, this products is a pretty good BB cream, and for me it is miles ahead of the original Garnier BB cream. I would recommend it to my friends who might be looking for a cheap alternative to some high end brands, but I think there are also better products on the market in the same price bracket.

Tips: Lay a tissue over your counter top when you're applying the cream, as it has a tendency to leak while the lid is off.
