Not for my skin

I love trying out new foundation and this one sounded right up my alley! I have dry skin but I definitely prefer a matte finish. I have quite pale skin so I choose the shade 03 True Ivory.

It comes in a plastic compact with a separate compartment for the little sponge. I never really use this as I prefer to apply my foundation with my RT sponge.

I prepped my skin well then applied all over. I would call it medium coverage which is what I like for my skin. It went on easily and covered my redness and a couple spots I had. It makes your skin feel really silky!

I found that it looked a bit patchy around my eyebrows and my chin but the main issue was the colour match, it was super pale and I looked like a ghost lol. Quite weird as I have always been ivory or true ivory and usually only ever have issues with it being too dark!

I kept it on and wore it around the house for the day. I found it wore just ok, it seemed to settle in my pores and really accentuated them. For me the best way to wear it is to apply over my BB cream, it makes my skin look flawless that way.

My advice is make sure you go into a store to check out the colour range as mine was way off. I feel like it is definitely more suited to oily skin rather than dry skin like mine. Not something I would repurchase.

Stick to what I know

I like that the compact has a mirror but the compact itself feels quite flimsy. I would say it gives only a light coverage and a bit of a white cast but feels very silky. I usually use liquid foundation so wasn't sure if I was meant to apply it by using a patting motion or gliding it on and the applicating sponge is quite thin and small. Putting it on my bare skin it quickly filled my pores and made them more visible on my nose and it didn't cover/hide my hyperpigmentation. I wore it to work and it lasted the day but the coverage is so light that it almost looks like I'm not wearing any make up anyway. My preference for it's use has been actually to stick with my regular liquid foundation and then apply this over that. I wouldn't buy it unfortunately and will continue to use my preferred foundation.

Great coverage and very matte

It does what it says, its very comfortable and long wearing however I didn't enjoy the matte texture on my skin. I felt it made me look older and more tired

Tips: None yet but keen to hear others tips!

Easy Daily Foundation

Unfortunately the shade I chose was too dark for my winter skin - however as I darken in summer it should suit better. The compact itself is simple, white in colour which makes it easy to locate in my makeup bag. The sponge and mirror is tucked away in a secret compartment under the foundation and stays pretty clean considering the use. The foundation is incredibly fine and almost silky when you run your finger over it - powder transfers readily. First usage: Using the flat thin sponge provided I immediately dislike the sponge - its flimsy and doesnt provide enough coverage with a swipe. However I am impressed by the transfer from sponge to face and the coverage from the foundation is great too. It blended into my skin beautifully even though the colour was too dark it actually looked pretty good! It can look a little powdery but if you work it a little that fades away.

I have used my mineral foundation brush to see what kind of finish it would leave and didnt love it - it looked like it was sitting on top of the skin and again powdery. I also used my makeup sponge and loved the finish that left - it was more silky.

It can be used heavily for a full coverage or lightly for daily use just to blur blemishes and make skin look more even. It also doesn't transfer much at all once applied which is nice!

Overall...I like it. And would probably love it if it were the correct colour. Will probably end up looking for it in the correct colour for work where I usually have a light makeup look.

Tips: Find an applicator that works with this powder for the look that you are after.

Mixed feelings

I was eager to try this product, especially because it's a powder, which made it seem convenient and fast. Given my dry skin, I was curious about its performance. I wouldn't describe it as providing full coverage, but it is buildable. I have to admit that it does have staying power, but can it truly last for 24 hours? I'm a bit unsure. I applied it in the morning, spent the day chasing after my 2-year-old, took a nap, and it still looked great in the afternoon. While I want to say that I love it, I can't quite commit to that level yet. I found when I put it on with little/light moisturiser, it looked terrible and patchy, so I would recommend a decent moisturiser before applying. Also, the sponge that comes with it, while it's convenient, it is far too thin. I much prefer my brush, and it also gives a better finish.

Tips: The sponge is too thin, use a brush for a better coverage and finish.

Good for touch ups

I have never used powder foundation before so this was my first time use. I looked up YouTube tutorials to apply it properly. And I followed exact same steps as most did. The shade was true to my skin color. When I applied it directly it gave a sheer coverage. It couldn’t conceal my color correctors or any pigmentation. When I applied it on a thin layer of foundation it set well. It gave a mat finish and it wasn’t cakey. The feel was smooth to touch. Packaging is ok. It’s boring to be honest. There was no smell. I felt no irritation when applying. Also the powder is compact. It wasn’t messy when applying.

So overall, I’ll just use it for touch ups.

Tips: Apply on a thin layer of liquid foundation or bb cream. It sets well and setting spray is a must.

Long wearing

I was very excited to trial this product as I am on the oilier side and really enjoy wearing a powder foundation. When it arrived I was a little nervous about the shade as it looked much darker than my other powders but seemed to work on my skin and didn’t oxidise as some powders tend to do on my face . I applied this at 7 in the morning and the first day I used my usual mattifying primer and it was probably 8 hours later that it started to break apart on my skin. This for me is actually good as most foundations start to look a bit worse for wear at this point so I was impressed that a powder could last this long. The next day I tried it with a more hydrating primer and was having a particularly oily day and while I still had decent coverage when I got home it looked like a had a film of colour on my face. I’ve since worn it again and dabbed a loose powder on the t-zone to set it and it’s lasted around 8 hours. The packaging is pretty standard for a powder foundation, there’s a compartment underneath which holds a sponge. I wouldn’t even bother using the sponge as it’s so thin and flimsy it really doesn’t do much. You can pick up a couple of cheap ones at farmers that will do a much better job or use a brush and buff it in. Which is what I did and it looked a lot more natural. This is definitely the most long wearing powder foundation I’ve tried and although it definitely didn’t last 24 hours I was still impressed and it may last longer on a different skin type . It can definitely be worn sheer if used with a sponge or a brush for a fuller coverage.

Tips: Add a loose setting powder over the t-zone to prevent shine

Superstay stays on!

I tested this on halloween, no better way than a long night of partying. It had long lasting coverage without the heavy or greasy look. And was easy to use. So compact and the type of product that is good to carry around if you are on the move!

Superstay 24H Hybrid Powder Foundation 21

I received the shade 21 to trial. This gave a light soft matte finish and I layered this over my spf day cream and this really helped to mattify the skin. No caking or patchiness and gave a nice soft glow. However I found it hard to use the sponge that came with the product as really difficult to collect more product and layer on. The sponge is more suited to a cream foundation than a powder foundation. There is a limited selection to choose from shade-wise in NZ so this was the closest to my olive skin colour but looked a little pink on me.

An easy to use foundation!

I was looking forward to trialling this Maybelline Superstay 24H Hybrid Powder Foundation as I have never tried a foundation in this format before. I really enjoyed using it as it was quicker than blending my liquid foundation. I experimented with using the provided sponge which gave a medium/full coverage, and a makeup brush which provided a light/medium coverage. This is a really nice foundation product which is easy to use and customise your level of coverage. I didn't stay up the 24 hours to test these claims, however, it did last the full day which was great. I did choose a shade that was slightly too light, so I would like to try the next shade. This trialled shade will be better suited to use during winter for me, I added extra blush and bronzer to. warm up my face. The first day I wore this foundation, my skin was slightly dehydrated and the foundation clung to the dry patches. The second day I ensured to use my hydrating products first. I was really happy with this foundation and continue to use!

Tips: Make sure to allow your moisturiser and sunblock to absorb before applying.
