Amazing Colors! Pros and Cons

I recently started collecting these and im growing to love them! I now own Bad to the Bronze, Creamy Beige, Barley Branded, and Cool Crush.

When I first applied this product, I used my finger and found that it did not apply smooth, but patchy and pretty horrible! I gave it up for awhile thinking it was just my wrinkly eyelids :(

HOWEVER, I tried it again with a flat eyeshadow brush and it turned out much much better! I was able to pat it on and smooth it out and it looked amazing!

The colors last all day, I have used it both alone and as a base and find it works great both ways! They blend well together and with eyeshadows, and now I find I use them on a daily basis.

My favorite colors are Bad to the Bronze (shimmery bronze color) and Barley Branded (a matte brown - close to the Bad to the Bronze color).

Tips: Make sure you close the lid tightly after every use to prevent it drying out!

Maybelline Eye Studio Colour Tattoo

I have 4 of these and enjoy them a lot. They are great as a base and even by themselves. They have a great texture and highly pigments. The colours come off better if you use a finger rather than a brush. They don't crease if I use them by themselves and they last all day. They can be quite hard to come off but with a good make up remover they can be removed.

Great

I love this product. It comes in heaps of different colours, blends easy, is very pigmented and is a great base. This product is also very long lasting and doesnt crease very much and also does not transfer .An issue is that the top layer dries up relatively easy.

Tips: I would recommend using fingers rather than a brush because it blends a lot easier and is far more pigmented if you do so.

Great colour range

Maybelline colour tattoo comes in a fantastic range of colours I know that I have personally taken to trying to collect every colour as the glass jars with all the different colours looks great displayed in a pretty box on my makeup desk also affordable especially on places like NZ sale or 1day

Tips: Use 2-3 layers to build up the colour and for it to be much more long lasting

Maybelline Colour Tatoo

These are amazing. They are so pigmented and come in a variety of awesome vibrant colours. You can use them on their own but they are also a great base for other shadows. They are super long-lasting and easy to apply. I only own a few but I definitely would like to purchase more.

Perfect

I love thèse eye colours. They are so easy to apply and then the colour stays in the same perfect way all day. Creaseless and non-splodgy, these are great colours too. I use a brush to apply and blend though a finger would be fine. Long live Maybelline for a great idea!

Tips: Use makeup remover to clean the brushes.

Perfect Everyday Neutral - Tough as Taupe

Love this shadow for a quick and easy neutral every day look - They blend easily with both brushes and your fingers! I dont have much time for the bright colours, I bought the aqua one to try and It was just a bit crazy for me, wouldnt mind the purple one though.

Tips: The neutral colours are great for bases, powder shadows blend easily over top and it gives you a little bit of extra staying power!

Exceptionally Long Wearing. Love!

My favourite thing about this eye colour is that it is actually long wearing and I'd have to say it's probably the longest wearing eye colour I've ever used. I'm not entirely sure it stays put as long as promised but it's for sure better wearing than most.

I tried a couple of different application methods, and just like using a powder eyeshadow, I found the colour lasted longer when I applied a base and a couple of layers. The days I used the eye colour only, I noticed it wore off a lot quicker.

Overall, I highly recommend this product and I plan to buy a few other colours to add to my collection. A must-use!

Tips: Use a base or primer first on the eyelid and then apply a couple of layers. This defintely adds to the wearability.

Worth the hype!!

I've got two of these eyeshadows: Bad to the Bronze (my favourite!) and Barely Branded. Bad to the Bronze is a stunning shimmery bronze (leaning more to a taupe undertone than a red undertone) that I think would look amazing on anyone. I often wear it by itself, sheered out over my lid and concentrated a tiny bit more in the crease, and it looks absolutely beautiful and like I've spent hours doing my makeup when in reality it took me less than a couple of minutes. I thought Barely Branded would be perfect for an everyday natural wash of colour, but I find it a bit too frosty for that unless I really sheer it out. However, it makes a nice base/primer for other eyeshadows, and I don't regret buying it. None of the other colours we can get here in New Zealand appeal particularly to me: they're all a bit too bright/random for me to really get any use out of, but if Maybelline ever brings out any neutral shades of this (a matte brown would be so nice!) here I'll definitely pick them up.

They do last on my ever-so-slightly oily eyelids for a good 8-ish hours at least, although they sometimes crease a little after that, so they don't quite live up to the 24 hour claim, but I still think they have amazing lasting power. And, best of all, they're not that expensive!! I got both of mine for under $20 at Farmers, so that's great!! :) Overall: definitely love them, and they're a staple in my makeup bag now!

Tips: I've had Bad to the Bronze for nearly a year now, and it recently formed a bit of a crusty layer on top: if that happens to you, just sit the pot in some really hot water (make sure it doesn't go past the start of the plastic lid) for about 10 minutes and then scrape of the very top layer and it should be all nice and creamy again. Hope that helps! xx
