Makes contouring and highlighting a breeze

I was very excited to pick this up in the latest Beauty Vault. The product comes in the classic pink cardboard Cameo packaging. The brush itself looks sleek, and not cheap at all, with a metallic silver handle. The bristles feel quite dense and of a good quality. I found this made contouring with powder products quite easy, I often struggle with getting the perfect cheekbone contour, but this brush was so precise it made it easy to get the contour in the right place, and this blends well. I also found this great for applying powdered blush and highlighter. I used to always end up with my highlighter in the wrong place, but this very easily applies highlighter with no mess. This however doesn't wash well due to the density of the bristle. I used my regular brush shampoo to clean this, and the brush took 3 days to dry, despite the 25 degree eat, and the bristles felt sticky afterwards, despite being washed thoroughly. This brush is very affordable, and I would consider purchasing more brushes from the Cameo range in the future, as I was impressed with the performance of this one.

Doesn't blend nicely :(

I bought this item for the warehouse. It comes in a very basic cardboard packaging, and the price is great. I got it on sale for 50 percent off!

The first time I used this with my contour kit, it didn't work out very well. I applied to much contour on the brush, and it left me with a big dark line across my face. Which isn't the brushes fault ofcorse, but the brush didn't help the matter.

Next time I used this brush with my contour, I applied small amounts at a time on to the brush before putting it on my face. The brush helps the product go on well, but when it comes to blending, the brush doesn't blend well at all. Even though I only had a small amount of contour on my fave, when I went to use the brush to blend, it left my face looking dirty. This resulted on me having to do my make up again.

I wouldn't use this brush for contouring again, so I use it to apply my bronzer instead. Because my bronzer is a lot light, you don't really need to blend it out as much as a contour.

Over all I do think the brush is okay for applying bronzer, but I think calling it a contour brush is quite misleading.

Cameo angled contour brush

I love this brush! I would never had tried this brush if it wasn't in one of the Beauty Review Beauty Boxes. I've never been successful in applying blush but this brush made it happen with ease. It has literally become one of my make-up essentials.

The angled bristles make it fool proof to use over facial bones to highlight and enhance facial features. Hello cheek bones! The brush itself is fairly thick but I feel it gives me more control when applying blush.

I'm yet to use it to try to contour.

Good for Beginner

I was lucky enough to get it from the Beauty Box. First off it looks very professional, sleek and clean, With a silver handle and soft slanted bristles

I first tried this for contouring as thats what the brush is stated for. I found it picked up wet and dry products easily but I couldn't seem to apply it evenly. No matter how much I buffed I seemed to have patches where too much product would be left or none at all.

I would still use this to apply the product as the angled bristles help define lines but I would buff with another brush to make it look a little more natural.

I have used this as a foundation brush and found this worked a little better. I still needed to use my fingers a little to blend the foundation in.

Over all I think this would be a good brush for a beginner or someone who doesn't want to spend to much money.

Great inexpensive brush

When I got this in the BR Beauty Box, I really didn't expect much from it. However, it proved me wrong because I loved this for light contouring. I don't do heavy contour on my face but I do have a subtle one to add definition.

This angled brush is great at creating the hollow on the cheeks and it's a great size for my face. I just use this to dab bronzer lightly on the cheeks and I use a light hand. I think this brush is also quite versatile as I've used it for blush too.

Overall, for the price, I can't really complain about this brush. It was better than I expected it to be.

Wasn't a fan

Not my favourite product in the Beauty Box. I find it’s a very stiff brush. I tried to contour with it but felt it just didn’t blend as easy as other brushes. I prefer to use a looser and fluffier brush that I can get more coverage with.

Not for the hollows

I received this item in the September BRBB. The brush is a short-handled silver tool with dense soft bristles. It comes in basic pink cardboard packaging with "helpful hints" on the back.

I would have preferred "how-to" tips rather than unhelpful hints like "using the Cameo Angled Contour brush apply bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks" etc. That doesn't tell anyone how to use the brush effectively. Do we press, swipe, dab?? Is the top of the angle towards my ear or away??

The bristIes are soft but I found that it sheds even after washing. It would only bother me if it cost me a trip to the moon. I've used a similar brush in the past and I'm still not convinced about its contouring functionality. For me when it comes to contouring the true test is the hollows of my cheeks; everywhere else on the face is manageable.

I dab the brush into my powder bronzer, tap off the excess and press along the hollows of my cheeks. I gradually buff it out in small circular motions. It cleans up the area very nicely but the brush reminds me of an angled buffer brush that I use to buff out blush if I get a little carried away. I feel like this brush takes away the definition I'm trying to achieve with contouring the hollows.

Instead I prefer to use it to highlight and buff out blush. I still prefer the slanted brush for contouring because it allows for easy sweeping motions that doesn't move the makeup below.

Tips: To highlight the area below the corner of my eyes up to the sides of my temples I pick up the highlight and press the product into my skin without tapping off excess. Once I've added my blush I go in with the ELF Kabuki brush to soften the highlight.

Beauty Box Special

I saw the shape of this brush and thought it's not going to work for me- I have never even contemplated buying a brush in this shape before - do I even try and use it or pass it on? Well I tried and I like. For the size of the brush the hairs are quite short, they are soft, but bunched together in the circle shape like they are make it quite firm. I have used it for blush and bronzer, it's a really good cheek brush- the round circle shape works for my cheeks. I find blending easy with this brush. I like that it gives more definition to my blush- it is very controllable. It picks up the product really well. It cleans up a treat, no shedding. The price is right, I recommend giving it a go.

Contour brush

Received this in a BR beauty box & I'm a suckered for brushes I always like to have brushes. A wooden handle which is grey with a silver ferrel and natural looking brush. Slanted dense hair that are compact & quite small but it does work well.

This brush is easy to use & picks product up easily too I like to use this brush it's not my favorite but it isn't bad either.

Such a nifty little brush!

This brush was part of the awesome BRBB. I didn't have very high expectations when I broke this brush out of the packaging. I certainly didn't associate Cameo with good quality brushes- they were that brand that made hairties/hairclips that I wore as a kid! However this left me so pleasantly surprised.

The brush design is clean and simple and feels very comfortable in your hand. The bristles are super soft and very densely packed. I use this with my Maybelline master-sculpt and this gives me a natural but beautiful contour to my non existent cheekbones. Perhaps the dense bristles would not be as well suited to a more intensely pigmented contour product, but the Maybelline one is very subtle so for me it works.

I have a new brand to keep an eye on in the beauty aisle!
