This was a purchase almost immediately after watching a Jaclyn Hill video where she raved about it and how well it worked on her skin and what it did for her. I wanted it, with a great passion and lucky for me Beauty Bliss now stock this, so I had it the very next day.
Ideal for those who have dry to combination skin as it adds a glow effect that can get a bit messy with oily skin as the day goes on.
Packaged in a sleek frosted glass bottle with the iconic Becca logo embossed lid in gunmetal steel shade this just looks the business sat on my desk and basically screams at me to use it over the others it snuggles there with. It is a very hard product to explain as it adds glow without looking highlighted, it brightens your face and radiates from underneath your foundation even matte formulas. Formula of this primer is a champagne pink with iridescent pearl effect veining though it, that once warmed up onto the face and patted in, blends out into an invisible veil that is slightly sticky, which helps keep your foundation in place for longer.
Once foundation is placed over the primer, which has no problems with use of a sponge or brush, the primer doesn't make the foundation drag or pill on your skin. The foundation settles without sinking into the primer and pores look smooth. Once finalised with setting powder and a spray of setting spray you start to see the glow from within, like you have just had a work out without the nasty sweat look.
My combination skin has recently taken a oily turn that has seen this primer start to play up on me, with it breaking down in certain areas and peeking through the foundation by the 6th hours mark, nothing that a blotting can't fix. However though during my drier moments this stays put all day and the healthy glow is as brilliant at the end of the day as it was at the start.
A beautiful product that helps your skin look plump, bright and youthful without that drawing to attention of uneven skin texture, pimples or lines that you so often get with a high shine powder highlighter.
I've been using this for 3 months and it's probably my favourite 'lit from within' primers. I bought this from Beauty Bliss for $56.00 (during promo and using rewards points) but at the time the retail price was $69.00 which is expensive for a 30ml primer.
It comes in sturdy frosted packaging with a pump and the signature brown metal lid found on the Becca blushes and highlighters. My only issue with the packaging is it's hard to detect how much product you have left so you need to hold it up to the light (natural light works best) to see the outline.
During this process you may find a bit of product near the top that will not slide down due to the semi thick consistency. Unfortunately this is product you can't reach even when you unscrew the top which is disappointing considering the price.
I use one full pump for my face (and a bit if I'm feeling like an extra boost). The shade that comes through the frosted glass is very similar to the shade in the bottle but more peach with very fine iridescent specks. It has a creamy soapy scent which for me is quite refreshing in the morning. It's not overpowering and will fade within minutes after application.
What I love is that this blends beautifully into the skin leaving behind a lovely natural sheen and when you're in the light you'll be able to see the iridescent specks. Don't panic, you won't look like your from the Twilight movies it just looks like a "lit from within" glow. I have oily skin and I love that this primer doesn't leave me looking like an oil slick.
I prefer to wear this on it's own for a fresh natural glow. I don't notice too much difference under foundation because I'm already using a luminous foundation (Natasha Denona) but my base does hold up well during the day. Within 3 months I managed to go through over half of the product so this could possibly last me 6-7months which again is a little disappointing because for an expensive primer I'd want it to atleast last a year however the product and results are worth it so I will be repurchasing.
