MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Soft and Gentle Review

This is a fantastic product which I would recommend to my friends. I use this every day as it provides great coverage but can be applied lightly for a more natural daytime look. Mac has a wide range of shades which suit anny complexion. This mineral powder is great for covering blemishes, especially when used alongside Mac concealers.

Oh how I love thee! I'm a fairly recent "highlighter junkie" - I only discovered the power of a quality illuminating product in the last 6 months after watching hundreds of YouTube videos (such a guilty pleasure!)

Previously I had been a strict "matte only" girl. I wanted to look absolutely flawless, think foundation, powder a light dusting on matte bronzer, perfect lips and perfect eyes. Now my look is the same but oh so different!

My love affair with highlighter started with TheBalm Marylou manizer. I had seen it's praises being shouted all over YouTube and I HAD to get my hands on it. But it just wasn't good enough, I wanted something better, something that would make my skin look lit from within, healthy & GLOWING.

Enter Soft & Gentle. I had seen it on YouTube many times but I'd never given it much thought until a friend told me how incredible it was. So off I went to buy it & that was the beginning of my love affair! I have very light skin with pink undertones, I burn easily and can tend to look washed out if I'm not careful. This highlighter powder is the definition of perfection. It's the most amazing colour, it's makes my skin glow, it never looks fake, it brightens up everything about my face, my eyes look brighter, my skin looks luminous and healthy & it stops my makeup from looking flat.

I use it under my eyes, above my cheekbones, in the lower center of my forehead and on my cupids bow. You can build it up or leave it sheer and light and no matter how often you use it the pan stays full. I can't imagine ever running out of this and I can't imagine ever finding anything that even comes close to this amazing product!

This powder has become my makeup staple! I use it everyday, once in the morning, and sometimes later in the day if I am going out for dinner, and I am never disappointed with the coverage. I do use a sponge instead of a brush to apply, as I find it lasts longer and it covers better.

If I'm using a liquid foundation, I use the powder as a highlighter, and just extra coverage (kinda like a setting powder).

I've tried others, from cheaper brands to more expensive ones, and 8 years later I am still using MAC.

I purchased one of these for the first time a few weeks ago. This was not high on my list of things to purchase, however I had a voucher to spend and was needing a decent highlighter at some stage, so I took the plunge and got it. I was not disappointed! As far as highlighters go, this one is so nice and natural and relatively glitter free, which is something I find hard to come by with powder highlighters. Love, love, love.

I bought this product after so many people raved about it and I have no regrets! I apply it at the top of my cheekbones and it gives me the most natural glow, my first ever highlight product and I don't think I will ever change! Also I have had it for 3 months now and it looks still untouched, so definitely worth the money. And very buildable, can have an everyday glow, or something a bit more dramatic for evening, cannot say enough good things!

I am conflicted on this highlighter. Yes, it is very pretty. Yes, it is a nice quality. But is it actually worth it?? I brought mine from MAC USA site direct, so I didn't pay the inflated price NZ sells it for which I'm thankful for. It's not really something I haven't seen before and is along the same level as Mary Lou Manizer and Stila Duo All Over Shimmer. It's no better quality or standard to those products in my opinion.... So not very life changing for me unfortunately BUT it is still very nice and gives a beautiful highlight... Just like the other mentioned highlighters do! It is quite shimmery so you need to be light handed.

I think if your a huge MAC fan and want a nice quality highlighter in your collection then this is great. I'm just jaded as I seem to have a collection of similar products building up! But if your on a hunt for a good highlighter then this is probably worth a try if you can afford it. It will last you a long time so you get a lot of use for your money.

MAC is well known for having amazing Meneralised Skin Finishes and I'd say that this is by far my favourite. Its a perfect highlight and suits pretty much every skin tone.

Its a pink-champagne shade with a subtle shimmer that reflects light perfectly off of your cheekbones. Texture-wise: it has that textbook mineralised feel, slightly rough in the pan but soft on the skin.

I actually use my fingers to apply this as i find brushes are too sheer and I really need the oil on my fingers to pat it on into the pigment I like but certainly brushes work well too. I also find that using my finger prevents fall out.

I definitely prefer my Soft and Gentle over my Benefit HighBeam and it looks like it will last forever.

A 'Must-Buy' for anyone who is just getting into highlighting as its such an easy powder to use and the colour is so universal.

OMG!! I'm all about highlighting the cheek bones, this product is amazing!! Such a pretty metallic finish.

My all time favorite Highlighter! It gives a great glow to the skin and totally worth the hype. I apply this with a fan brush along my cheek bone, above the eye brow, cupids bow, down the nose, and on the eye lid. Use a light hand when using this product as it is pretty intense!! It isn't a super finely milled powder, as it is a little more chunky with glitter, but its not chalky at all. This product will suit a large range of skin types, and it will last you forever! The amount of product is great and you won't need much to get that glow from within look!

Ever since my skin has started to look so amazing and my acne and acne scarring have significantly reduced I dont mind attracting some attention to my face and that means a whole new world of highlighters and glowy makeup has been opened up to me.

The highlighters I already owned before this are all in chubby stick form and their creamy. I never owned a power highligher so I was extremely excited I could make this purchase and have not regretted it.

Soft and Gentle is probably the most beautiful champagne colour, that is extremely glowing, that I have seen. This highlighter is glowy but it doesnt make you look like a disco ball by being overly sparkly. Its such a romantic champagne hue.

I love to wear this on my cheek bones, just above my blusher. After applying a full face of makeup highlighting will be the last step for me and then I'll decide how intense I want the glow depending on what else is happening on my face. I apply this highlighter with my ring finger as I feel this gives me more control over the application and I can make it as intense as I want without losing product to makeup brushes.

When you swipe this highlighter on your fingers, its this beautiful powder that almost turns in cream with an incredible butter scotch smell that is iconic of MAC makeup. I dab the highligher, not rub, as this gives me the most intense glow. Once highlighting is complete, I take my blusher brush and literally just touch the highlighter so it picks up the smallest amount and then I apply it over my blush to give my entire cheek area a subtle healthy glow. I hate it when girls apply highlighter and the line above their cheeks is prominent and not blended, so I prefer to add the highlighter to my entire cheek area subtlely.

I have used this highlighter everyday since purchasing it out of excitement but also out of pur love. Its work amazing in the day time when you just add a touch to your face, and people compliment you on looking healthy and happy. Also with night time, you can go crazy and it looks amazing and you will receive non stop compliments about glowing.
