This was the first BB cream I ever purchased, and Im not sure why, but Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream was the one I was drawn to, and I purchased one in Farmers.
The BB Cream comes in a soft plastic tube, with a gradient brown to white colour, and with the Maybelline BB cream logo in a pink, which adds some colour. Personally, I didn’t like the packaging. It is pretty standard, and not that appealing being brown in colour.
This BB cream is very thin, and that must be the water base approach this product has. There are both pros and cons to the consistency of this product. The pro being its very light weight, and sets on the skin very quickly. The cons however, seem to outweigh the pros. The cons are this formula is so thin, it almost drips out of the tube, and the water based formula gives such a light coverage, that it really makes this product unsuitable for any day your skin is not perfect to start off with! Additionally, after purchasing this product, and using it on and off for a while, the formula of the product changed, and the product slightly separated, even after a good shake. Im not sure why this is, but its not very appealing to use.
When I first started using this cream, I had quite smooth skin with little to no blemishes.. So this cream was good just for evening it out skin tone. But the coverage was really light, and quite minimalistic. Also for the warmer months, this BB cream just washes my skin out because it’s not dark enough for my skin tone once it darkens in summer. I can notice that it has a soothing effect on my skin, and I can feel this when I first apply the BB cream. I find this feeling lingers for a bit, but no longer then 2-3minutes. I wouldn’t say this product enhances or brightens either. For the days my skin is not perfect (pretty much every day recently), this BB cream does not provide decent enough coverage.
I honestly won’t be repurchasing this BB cream, and won’t be recommending this to friends or family, or any of you lovely BR members, simply for the fact that this product is so light-weight, that it’s hardly worth wearing this product at all.
I saw this at a makeup sale for $12 and had seen the BB cream raves in magazines so thought I'd pick it up for a bargain and try it out. As a moisturiser I think it's ok it does make my skin feel soft but I was hoping I could use this on days when I didn't feel like putting makeup on but still wanted my skin to look nice (I rarely leave the house without makeup). I have freckles and rosacea which I hate but felt like this did nothing for the appearance of my skin. It is too light to cover any imperfections and its difficult to apply enough coats to get the desired look as it gets streaky. I think I'll stick to my full face of makeup!
Tips: If you have naturally flawless skin this would be great
