L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation

Initially, I was sceptical about trying the Pro-Glow foundation. Lets just say, I definitely have my favourites/staples as a makeup artist, but in saying that, this also makes me very open and excited to trying new products! Initially I found the consistency very runny (hence the "air-light" texture). However, upon application I found it actually gave a really nice coverage and true to description. The bottle claims the foundation has a medium coverage with a radiant finish which is definitely accurate. I found the foundation sat on my skin really nicely and comfortably all day. I have combination skin with a side of sensitivity combined with a lot of natural redness, so 2 layers were ideal and gave that really nice dewy finish and medium coverage. This foundation definitely did feel hydrating to wear, unlike many foundations and the SPF factor is definitely an added bonus! I think this foundation would be great value for money and perfect for those wanting a light weight makeup that isn't heavy or cakey and allows their natural skin to be enhanced and radiant.

Tips: Applies really well with a beauty blender. Coverage can be built up. Set with powder through the T-zone (or apply to whole face for a slightly more matte look).

L’Oréal Infallible Proglow Foundation..would buy..

I really like the bottle this foundation comes in. It is a plastic squeeze bottle which means I can try to get, every last drop of product, as I hate that most of my foundations are in badly designed bottles which there is the annoying bit at the bottom of the bottle you can’t get to. This is a big tick for me. The foundation itself is a thin liquid and I was a bit worried about the coverage as my previous foundations are all quite thick liquid. On applying ‘as per instructions on bottle - dab spots on and rub in circling motion’ I was surprised with the good coverage of this product. I did not use as much product as I thought I would need to..another big tick. Sp15 sunscreen is a positive, saves adding another cream. The foundation lasted well but was at its best for up to about 6 hours when I noticed my skin getting oily in the usual spots, but lasted well until 8-10 hours - but I was happy with this as who does want to keep their make up on for 24 hours. i tried the Creamy Natural shade and found this a good match for my complexion. I would definitely consider buying this product again, I found many positives and nothing really bad about it. I have been a long term user of Maybelline products but this foundation may just well convert me.

Glow away

This foundation is such good value for money for the affect it gives. Very affordable for such a nice product that gives a soft dewy glow and is light on the skin. It offers good medium coverage and is very buildable. It covers any spots or uneven skin tone and good for all ages. Easy to apply even with fingertips for a more natural look, wont even know its on the skin as doesn't dehydrate.

Tips: Good with a light setting powder and nice worn as a daytime foundation.

A lighter formula with a sort of glow behind it. Good value for money and this does last awhile bottle wise and wear wise.

Light as a feather foundation!

The first thing I noticed about this foundation was how 'liquid' the formula is. I'm used to something heavier that squeezes out as a thicker blob than this one. That is not to say that it was messy or runny- just different to what I'm used to!

I followed the instructions and dotted it onto my skin before 'rolling' it in. I was immediately impressed by how smoothly it went on. There was no hassle in blending it in, no brushes or sponges required here. This is the kind of foundation that you want around on a morning when you'e in a rush. Or for that matter, anytime really that you don't want to have overly 'work' the foundation in for an even finish.

I chose the shade 202 creamy natural which is cool toned and matches the swatch diagram well. If anything, it's slightly lighter than my skin in person but an in-store tester would have quickly solved that!

The coverage is described as medium and radiant. I found it to be on the lighter side. Medium to me suggests that it will cover most imperfections in your complexion, but not all. I still went in with a few touches of concealer after the foundation for the small red marks that were left behind- pesky things! As mentioned earlier though, the coverage is perfectly even and smooth. My skin fits the 'normal to dry' profile and there were no issues with it drying out my skin. The radiance is there, I applied over sunscreen, and was left with a dewy glow- perfect! Not too shiny but not at all matte.

Overall, this is great if you're looking for an easy-to-apply, daily use foundation. It's not an option for those looking for a full coverage foundation but that's not what it sets out to do!

Tips: Applying with fingers works well. Shade test in person if possible!

Love that glow!

I applied this foundation using F80 kabuki brush. It’s not the perfect shade for me but the product was very easy to blend, and gave me a medium coverage on one application. The consistency is quite runny, watery. The ‘glow’ this foundation gave is very nice and natural. I love a good glow and this foundation will make you glow all over .

I have combination skin with some dry patches on some parts of my face - this foundation did not accentuate the dry patches at all.

The past couple of days were very humid and I wore this foundation to work -a total of 10 hours , my blush/bronzer remained intact. I was sweating on and off (not heavily) but the foundation did not melt. I didn’t get shiny either.

Very lightweight, I did not feel that I have foundation on my face but when I touch my face, the foundation felt a bit tacky on my hand.

Con: limited shade range available in New Zealand unlike the Loreal true match.

Tips: A little goes a long way

Classic ivory

I really loved the colour it was perfect for my skin and it didn't seem to make me look pink like some foundations tend to do. A little definitely goes a long way I used a beauty blender and my fingers to apply and it looked quite nice not Cakey at all! It gave my skin a nice finish and it was very buildable. I loved the coverage no need for concealer! I found it lasted all day but not around my chin and on top of my nose. But it is definitely a new favourite

Tips: I think either using a primer or setting it would help it stay on the nose and chin.

L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation

I am light/fair skinned, it is usually dry and I get occasional dry and flaky patches.

I got the colour 202 Creamy Natural and although it was the best colour match (after checking out the colour range at Farmers), I found that this shade looked slightly grey after applying it on to my face. However, after applying concealer and bronzer, the greyness was less noticeable.

The formula was very runny and blended well into my skin. The packaging recommends using a rolling motion so I tried using my fingers, and a damp beauty blender and found that a damp beauty blender worked the best for me as it gave the most natural and even finish and also dries to the touch. The coverage is buildable but I'd say more towards the light end.

On the skin, the foundation felt very light, which I really liked. The finish to look quite dewy and natural. It isn't quite highlighter-level glow but nice for everyday use. I found that because my skin can be quite dry, I could get away with not using a setting powder and/or setting spray but using them helped a the foundation last a bit longer throughout the day. I can't be sure if it would last 24 hours, but for a normal 8-10 hour day, it held up for me.

In terms of its hydrating effect, I still found that I preferred to wear a light moisturiser underneath. I had a dry patch on my cheek while testing this and I was very impressed that it did not emphasise the flakiness, especially after applying and setting my make up. At the end of my day, the area did start to get a little dry but overall, I couldn't really tell. I also haven't had any issues with breakouts so far.

The packaging nice and simple, the bottle is nice and slim. The bottle says to shake well but because the formula is so runny, it does tend to leak out into the lid - regardless of whether it is shaken or not, so that when you open the lid the end is is covered in foundation. This means it can be a little messy if left on the table with the lid off.

Tips: Using a damp beauty blender and a rolling/dabbing motion helps when trying to build up coverage.

I had pretty much the same results as you. I personally found it super easy to apply just using my fingers.

Perfect foundation for someone else.

This is a great foundation…for somebody else. Unfortunately, this foundation has a very limited shade range. It fails to cater for the very fair, as well as those with deep skin tones. I trialled 202 Creamy Natural which is the ‘lightest’ shade for warm undertones. Honestly, it looked orange on me. Admittedly, I am extremely pale. My perfect fit is Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia. I feel that I should point out that I knew that this shade would be terrible for me but, I wanted to test the formula.

The formula was amazing! It has a radiant finish that gives a subtle glow to the skin. The foundation does not accentuate any pores and sits nicely on the skin. This formula, when used with a makeup sponge, is easy to blend and build. It has a nice medium coverage that does not feel heavy.

Aside from the shade range my only negative is that the packaging can get a little messy as the foundation is very runny. The foundation has a tendency to spill out of the nozzle when it is upright. So, naturally, I store this upside down.

Ultimately, if L’oreal extended their shade range I would repurchase this beauty in a fairer shade.

L'Oreal Pro Glow Foundation - Review

Ever since this product released in the US I have heard loads about it - mostly good, so when I saw this trial opportunity I immediately put my hand up for it! This product claims to be a lightweight, medium coverage foundation with a glowy finish and up to 24 hour wear. I personally have combination skin (oily with stubborn dry patches) but I prefer a glowy finish so I was interested to see how this foundation would hold up, especially in this summer's heat. This foundation retails for $39.99 and contains 30ml of product, which is around average. It comes in a plastic squeeze tube type container - as the foundation has a thin texture sometimes this can be hard to control and I end up with too much product.

I chose the shade '202' for this foundation and even though it had the right undertone for me it was just a tiny bit too light. The consistency was very runny - I had to be careful not to spill it when I opened the cap. I applied it using a beauty blender sponge, which left me with light-medium coverage - this was perfect for me. The finish was very glowy and natural, but I had to set it with a tiny bit of powder as otherwise it would have broken down in minutes with my oily skin. Even so, it didn't emphasise my dry patches which is a big plus! I found with primer it lasted around 12 hours, with no breaking down (it just looked a bit oily, but I do have oily combination skin). Without it lasted for a little while less, but still didn't break down. I really liked the finish of this foundation though, and also the fact that it contains SPF is great!

Overall, I really enjoyed this foundation - it has good light-medium coverage, wears well and has a natural glowy finish. I imagine it would be great for dry skin as it is very hydrating. However it is on the mre expensive end of 'drugstore' products, costing $39.99, but I think it is a great product and would definitely buy it if it was on sale or I had a coupon.

Tips: Be careful when you open the tube - it's very easy to spill!
