Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

This is a very full coverage make up, whilst I don't use it anymore because I find the foundation is a bit to thick for me now days. It was a staple when I was a teenager (I am now 24). It would cover even the biggest red blotch that I had on my face for a smooth finish. I wouldn't say this is a very natural make up as its full coverage, but it is buildable. It is one of the best foundations if you are after staying power! It would last from the beginning of class at uni till the very end! I would sometimes mix it in with my moisturiser in order to make it a bit lighter for every day.

Simply put, this foundation is amazing. As a super light skinned girl I often have problems finding a shade light enough for me. The range in light shades is amazing! And caters for different skin tones aswell.

Medium coverage but very buildble. Its semi matte but dosnt stick to any dry spots. It lasts a full day at work and then some.

It is a little on the pricy side but I feel its worth every $$.

The bottle is glass and is a simple classic, appealing design, the only downfall being if you like a pump this has to be purchased separately.

I used to use this when the matte look was in and when my skin needed the full coverage. It comes in a luxurious feeling glass bottle and is definitely a full coverage makeup.

My skin has improved since and I prefer a lighter coverage so I'm not using this one as much. It definitely works well though if you are after a full coverage foundation that doesn't budge all day. It doesn't look very natural because it's so full coverage but it will cover essentially everything and leave you with very matte skin.

I find you need to work fairly quickly with it though because it can set and be streaky if you want to build it later.

A nice and creamy, but non-heavy liquid foundation. It has a lovely smooth texture, like BB cream consistency, making it nice and spreadable.

The coverage i’ll say can be light to medium, depending how much you put on. The weightless formula of the foundation gives you an easy application, and a nice and natural look, which i like.

However, it doesn’t really work well on dry skin. Close up, you can It sitting on top of the flakes, forming dried coloured patches. It doesn’t hide the flakiness of your skin. So you do have to exfoliate your skin well if your skin is dry. It also sits in your facial creases, revealing my fine lines, which i have to smudge away using my fingers once in a while.

Another thing is that it does eventually blot off in hot, sweaty weather.

Overall... not bad in terms of staying power. Just need to use it with a good primer. Those with good skin will benefit from using this foundation.

I love the coverage of this foundation. It goes on flawlessly every time. It hides my redness which is a must for any foundation I use, I have a very red nose and cheeks. I struggle to find a foundation that looks good throughout the day. But this foundation has been one of my go to foundations for awhile now because of its lasting results. Beautiful texture and smell isn’t to strong. Price is a little up there that’s why I’ve given it 4/5. I feel you can get similar foundations for abit cheaper.

How, HOW have I never found this foundation! I have oily/comb skin which means any foundation I use tends to melt off my face but THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!! Leaves my skin flawless, hides my dark pigmentation, has no scent, lasts all day with no touch ups required, buildable for the nights out. Only cons- I wish it was higher SPF and if I accidentally forgot to take it off I may get a spot or two in my Tzone. Otherwise I wish I had found this foundation earlier as it is seriously amazing!!

I had a few issues with this product: First one is that despite there being something like 25 shades, there's just not one that suits me that well (even though I've got a great match in the double wear light range). Secondly, while some people love the matte finish, I feel that it's too drying on my forehead, which I feel accentuates the minor lines I have. Not a hot look. Given these issues, I'd say that I wouldn't repurchase. I would recommend it to a friend on the basis of other people loving it, and it has a wide range of shades. Estee Lauder are very generous with their samples, and that way you can try before you buy.

After using Diorskin foundation for years they stopped making it and I was forced to find a replacement. This was so hard for me but Doublewear was one of the first foundations I was recommended and the second one I tried. Haven't looked back since. I have ivory skin with a yellow tone which is very hard to match but doublewear shade 1N0 is perfect for me Topped with their translucent powder my skin appears flawless and my makeup stays put all day. Top marks from me!
