Revolutionary

This kit was the most hyped about contouring kit over the internet. With beauty-gurus and even the normal beauties on the makeup obsessives facebook page claiming it was a drugstore dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette. When this palette was first released in NZ it sold out within that day so I unfortunately had to wait three months for it to be restocked at my local Farmers store.

The packaging is super thin and does feel very fragile. I do love how it comes with a very secure clip that won't come undone easily. This is also great to travel with as it doesn't take up loads of space.

The kit comes with 2 highlight shades, 1 undereye setting shade and also, 3 contour shades. The first highlight shade is a matte pink toned beige which i prefer to use as a browbone highlight and the second highlight shade is a shimmery peachy shade which I love to use to highlight my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, cupids bow and chin. I have found it is a very natural highlight as its not as intense as the Mary Lou highlighter from the balm. The undereye setting shade is a light matte banana yellow shade and sets your under eye area without any trouble. Now, the last row of this palette is all the contour/bronzer shades. The first is a medium, warm-toned brown. I tend to use this as a bronzer shade which does compliment my fair skin. The second shade is a cool-toned grey/brown which I use as my contour shade and it is such a natural contour. The last shade is a very warm brown which I haven't touched yet as I'm afraid it is too warm for my complexion.

All the powders are really pigmented so be light handed when applying the product to your brush. I have found that all the shades are super easy to blend and looks very natural.

I absolutely adore this palette and haven't touched any of my other contour kits or bronzers. This palette is definitely an essential in my everyday life and is probably the best Australis product I have ever tried.

Tips: It has a diagram on the back of how to contour/highlight which is a great idea to have especially since this is one of the first contour palettes I have seen at the drugstore.

Hopefully you can get your hands on it but it is available for pre-order from beauty bliss or makeup.co.nz

Thanks for the great review! I think I will be now buying this rather than the Anastasia Beverly Hills palette

It makes it a lot easier for the girls that are on the fence about the product and also helps them get a feel for the product would actually suit therthere complexion.

Australis AC On Tour Kit

Boo I so wanted to love this as I NEED a contouring kit in my life!, so much though that im in the midst of making my own. There was so much hype on facebook, my newfeed was a buzz with "were can I find this", "Ill pay $80" But sadly this just looks muddy on me. I do like the banana powder in it though, but even that seems quite light/faded. I know I sound crazy as its very sought after but Im just a little disapointed thats all. I paid $20inc off facebook, so it didnt break the bank and considering its not an expensive item it does ok. It is in a conveniant sized case thoyugh, which makes things a little better.

Disappointing!

After seeing all the hype and being absolutely desperate for a contour kit I rushed out and bought this at my local farmers. I was most impressed with the guides on the back of the palette but that is where my joy ends. The colours, whilst highly pigmented, are definitely not right for me, either being too brown (almost dirty looking) or too peach, and I've found they are near impossible to blend, so I am left with actual stripes on my face. I was completely unaware that the yellow powder was banana powder until a couple of days ago, however I had used it under my eyes etc and again it is the wrong colour for my skin. The packaging is great, I do like the fact that (in theory) everything you need is in one place, however would have preferred if there was a couple of palettes in slightly different tones to choose from.

Tips: The guides on the back are great for those who are learning contouring and highlighting

AC ON TOUR

People and their mothers have been going crazy about this pallet, mainly because it's affordable and available in stores in NZ.

The packaging is okay as it dose have instructions on how to contours. It's made out of plastic so it's easy to travel with. The only down side is that it's lacking a mirror.

This pallet is mainly for tanned people as the browner shades do make fair toned people look muddy.

The yellow shade is my favourite I use it set my concealer as it give it a brightening effect.

This pallet is great for beginners or anyone on a budget.

Tips: If you have the option to try it out please do so before buying.

mixed feelings

I have a love hate relationship with this palette I feel it has alot of potential, but at thw same time its over rated. I waited weeks to get my hands on it. I find this palettes highlighting shade not to be light enough for my skin tone and rhe contourong shades to also be to muddy for my skintone. My thoughts are thay this product would be much more suited to darker skinned ladies. Now when it comes to blending this product it is extremely difficult to blend, it just doesn't seem to want to blend out, so you end up with a massive brown streak on the side of your face.

Tips: Use the tiniest amount of product at a time for the best results

Life changing

I have been contouring since before it was cool but finding the perfect contour and highlighting shades wasn't easy. Contouring palettes weren't readily available. The overwhelming plethora of shimmery bronzers out there didn't provide what I was looking for and finding the perfect matte bronzer was a challenge

When I found out about the Australis contouring and highlighting palette I couldn't find one. Recently my cousin purchased this for me.

The excitement I felt, well there are no words to describe it. I opened it and oh it is so pretty. You have two warm Browns and a slightly ashy cool tones brown which is what you want when you are trying to create shadows. The highlight colours you have one slightly pinkish shade with a subtle shimmer, a matte yellow banana powder which is perfect for the undereye area and a pale beigey matte shade.

The powders while pressed are soft and buttery, not chalky in any way at all. They are hugely pigmented and you need to tap off any excess from your brush as it is very easy to apply too much. Once on the skin they are very easy to blend and buff our without buffing away the product.

The Warmer Browns in the palette are perfect for warming up the face while the cooler ashier colour is perfecting for sculpting and bringing dimension to your face. The highlight colours are fabulous, the slightly shimmery one can give you a nice dewy highlight while the matte shade will highlight yet remain matte, enough of a highlight to really draw the eye. The yellow banana powder is perfect for setting undereye concealer and finishing off the whole look

This palette is $21.50 and is a real steal when you take into consideration the quality of the powders, the 6 powders and the fact that they include a guide on how To use the product on the back. I don't think I will ever buy another bronzer or highlighter again!

Tips: Use a light hand and if you need to use the guide on the back of the palette

Doesn't live up to the hype!

Wouldn't rate in the top contouring kits I've tried but only because this one takes a good amount of blending achieve that beautifully contoured pulled together look. Did find the colours worked well on my skin tone though. And the yellow one I absolutely loved! I'd buy this by itself if I could, as a cheaper alternative to the ben Nye banana powder :)

Tips: I wouldn't recommend this kit to beginners as blending it was hard work! Still think this product was way over rated

Amazing!

As a drugstore dupe for the ABH palette, I found the Australis AC On Tour Kit to be on point!

The colours are great for contouring, especially the yellow/banana powder for highlighting under the eyes and setting concealer, and the greyish brown taupe in the bottom middle row which provides the shadowy look essential for contouring.

I personally have had absolutely no issues with blendability or muddiness as others, this may be because I use a powder foundation as opposed to liquid (which might make it a bit muddier and harder to blend especially if you don't set your foundation with powder) as it catches quite easily on wet spots.

The end powders - the shimmery one on the top row is a great highlight on the cheekbones and is very pigmented. The warm brown at the right end is also great for bronzing, especially if you're medium warmed toned.

Tips: to get rid of the powdery look, use a make up finishing or setting spray!

Maybe it was me but I don't like this

Firstly I am new to contour and after many tutorials and recommendations plus the hype around this Australis kit I thought I would try my hand at it, I am one of those people who will give anything a go once in regards to makeup and in general.

Design of this product is so pretty in its sleek thin almost matte black casing and huge flash of metallic pink across the lid showing the name of the product and the logo. Then you open it up and there is a huge mirror and the 6 quite large sized discs of contouring shades. The formula of them are chalky and very powder on my already dry skin even on top of primed and foundation skin these seem to look very flat and drying on my skin.

The major problem I found was that this is a universal kit for all skin tones, there is no light, medium or dark kit its one item fits all and this is disappointing as even the lightest shades for contouring in the palette were warm toned and stuck on my skin like I had spent the day painting the whole look just didn't suit me and was very obvious on my face no matter how lightly I applied or how I blended it to fade together. I think now I have played with this kit a couple of times and passed onto to someone who will use it, that I need to try the cream contour kits that are designed for the fairer skin.
