GARNIER'S new BB Cream,  combats shiny, oily skin, by combining the power of ultra-absorbent mineral pigments for an immediate matte look and perfect, even-toned skin.

The oil-free BB cream works in five ways. It reduces imperfections, moisturises, gives skin a healthy glow, delivers a beautiful matte finish to skin and provides all-important sun protection with SPF 15.

GARNIER'S Oil-free BB Cream provides instant results while also improving the skin’s quality over time. After four weeks the results are clearly visible; skin is less oily, pores reduced in size, imperfections are visibly reduced and skin radiance is improved.

It has a  new active ingredient,  Mineral perlite - a powerful volcanic rock extract known for its ultra-absorbing properties.

Mineral perlite is able to retain up to two-and-a-half times its weight in oil and water and is five times more absorbing than talc, meaning any excess sebum is absorbed to fight that oily shine. This combined with uncoated mineral pigments gives the skin an even tone and a perfectly matte finish

GARNIER Miracle Skin Perfector-Oil-free BB cream is available in two shades - light and medium.

I'm Sure It Does Work

...unfortunately for me, the shade medium is far too pale for me (I must be a medium deep, which is not available in this range), however instead of using it for its proper purpose, I decided to give it a go as a primer for my foundation.

You can definitely tell it is oil free as soon as you put it on your face. It went on easily and dried up the tiny amount of oiliness I have around my T-Zone. This product is definitely perfect for all those ladies out there with slightly oily skin.

After applying to my face, I did notice that it had created a pretty flawless base for me to apply my foundation with. I also noticed that throughout the day my foundation lasted slightly longer on my face than it does with just primer alone, so I guess that is one bonus.

I am a little guttered that the colour was not right for me as I would love to find a product that delivers everything that this one says it does. Unfortunately as I have already said, this colour was far too light, hence the low rating for this product! I could however tell that on the right skin colour it would definitely give an even tone and also that matte finish the product says it gives....just not for me :o(

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-free

I use BB cream on almost a daily basis and so I was excited when I discovered Garniers BB cream for oily skin. The formula itself was a runny consistency (Be careful when opening!) but went on evenly. Being a BB cream the coverage was light, but It did an amazing job at covering redness and those pesky dark under-eye circles. If you're after a natural look, then this is for you.

I found that while the BB cream was a lightweight, hassle-free alternative to foundation, it did little to reduce oiliness and by the end of the day the product had managed to disappear. In saying that, the tube is now empty so they must be doing something right ;)

Good, but maybe not IT

I loved this product at first, it went on smoothly, it didn't clunk up in my pores and didn't add any extra oils to my face... so overall good.

But about 8 hours later it started to look white dry and flakey... not attractive.

Tips: Mosisturise before you put it on and it lasts for longer.

Buy this if it's on special or desperate

This product is really runny. As soon as I squeeze some onto my finger it runs, so I have to quickly use it. I even have to store the bottle upright so I don't get a surge of product coming out when I next use it.

It is a thin consistency but it's rather pigmented, so it gives a bit of coverage. It dries rather quickly, so I suggest apply on one area at a time and work it in.

I have oily skin and this product leaves your face feeling rather oily. It does leave a bit of a shine finish. After applying it on I blotted my face with tissue and there is oily residue on it, after this I set it off with powder. I do get a bit oily during the day, I can feel it on my skin, so do blot during the day. However it is long lasting and doesn't run off by the end of the night.

The packaging is very appealing in its sleek tube form. It doesn't really have much of a fragrance except for its chemical smell.

Tips: To make it last longer and appear less oily, apply primer and set with powder afterwards. Do blot with tissue paper or blotting paper during the day.

Left me very oily

I love the idea of this product but unfortunately it didn't do for me what it said it would.

Appearance- The look of the product is really nice. It's in a thin tube with a small tip.

Consistency- This product is very thin and quite runny so you need to be careful when getting it out of the tube. It isn't very easy to apply and seems quite dry and that it won't blend well.

Colour and Coverage- The colour is perfect and becomes invisible but somehow covers imperfections quite well! It definitely isn't as good as a full foundation but it does provide a nice even finish.

Smell- I didn't notice any overpowering smell when applying or during the day so that was nice.

Effectiveness- This product wasn't very moisturising for me and even with a moisturiser on underneath it was quite hard to blend. It claims to provide a matte finish but I found it to look quite shiny and after a couple of hours my face was quite oily. I tried it the next day with a powder over top and it was still shiny.

Would I recommend it? I would recommend the original BB cream as I found it better overall.

Tips: Make sure you put sunscreen on underneath as it's only SPF15

Not quite up to BB standards

I received this product to trial and it's going up against a tough contender - my one and only holy grail product, the Vital Orange BB Cream from Korean brand Skin79, which I started using using two years ago and haven't touched any other face product since... until now. I have always avoided "western" bb creams after hearing time and time again that they're just glorified tinted moisturisers trying to hop on the bb bandwagon.

The first thing I noticed about this product was the consistency - it's quite runny, which makes it hard to control the amount of product you want, and makes a mess of the lid. I didn't find this made application any more difficult, though.

The colour "Light" is about a shade too dark for me. It may hopefully be wearable for me in the summer if I manage to get some colour. The undertone doesn't appear to lean too orange nor too pink. It provides the perfect light coverage to even out your skin tone rather than cover it up, exactly what I expect from a bb cream.

I like to build up coverage in places where I need it rather than using a concealer. I did not find this product at all easy to build, an extra layer didn't do much to my visible veins and dark circles other than leave an obvious dark patch. Maybe I wouldn't see a problem if the shade actually matched me, but it does seem that if you want to build up coverage, you're going to need a lot.

I do always set my T zone area with a translucent powder, but the other areas of my face weren't left with that tacky, un-set feeling that I was expecting due to the runny consistency. All areas of my skin looked and felt nice and matte. The product stayed well throughout the day, and my skin did not get noticeably shiny.

The main difference I find between a good bb cream and a regular face product is the feeling after taking it off after a day of wear. Your skin feels GOOD after taking off a bb cream, like it's been doing something beneficial for your skin, not just providing coverage. I didn't get that feeling after wearing this product. I took it off and my skin felt like it needed to be thoroughly cleansed, toned and moisturised, pronto.

A nice light coverage product with a nice matte finish, but not quite a bb cream. Sorry, Garnier.

Didn't do for me what it said it would

As I have never used a BB cream before I was quite excited to give this a go especially because it says that it is a skin perfector for oily and combination skin. When I first opened the product I did like the packaging, I thought the squeezable tube would make it easy to get the right amount needed however when I opened it I found the product to be quite runny (I wasn't expecting that) and it ran straight out so my first impression wasn't the greatest. I wasn't 100% sure how I was meant to apply it so I tried a range of ways over the trial including using my fingers, makeup sponge, foundation brush ect, on its own, over moisturiser, under powder ect. I didn't like the smell but did notice that once it was completely applied and settled the scent was no longer noticeable, When I used this product on its own I found that it did not last long throughout the day, and by lunch time my skin (especially forehead) was shiny and felt more oilier than usual. Throughout my trial the best way for me to use this product is after exfoliating my face, applying the bb cream and then mineral powder I do get a really nice natural finish that covers red spots nicely and looks pretty good. It does not last as long as I would like it to so for this reason I will not be purchasing it for myself. However because I now have the product I will continue to experiment with it and see if I do find a way for it to work for me. I don't see this product as being the "Miracle Skin Perfector" for oily and combination skin because it does not "fulfil all of my skins needs" and overall was quite disappointed in this BB Cream after hearing all the hype over bb creams.

Tips: Definitely put the cap back on when applying this product or it will leak when laying flat and try dotting it over your face for an easier application. Also finish with a mineral powder for a natural look which will also allow the bb cream to last a bit longer.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-free S

I was really excited to be asked to test this product; I am slightly addicted to BB creams and tend to favour them more than foundations. I tested the Oil Free cream in Light – which is very light; luckily I am pasty so this wasn’t an issue.

The packaging is sleek and simple, nothing special. Upon opening the first thing I noticed is that the product literally runs out to meet you, so since the initial opening I have been storing it up the other way as there was a lot of wastage stuck around the inside of the lid. There is a hint of fragrance in the cream, but its such a tiny hint its barely noticeable, doesn’t smell nearly as bad as some of the other BB’s I have tried.

The cream itself is a very thin texture, it gives very light coverage on the skin, but feels nice and lightweight at the same time, I always applied a small amount all over my face as it goes on like a tinted moisturiser and then built it up in the areas I need more coverage. Applying the second “coat” filled in my pores and hid any redness I had. The cream didn’t really set or give the matte finish effect it promised which was disappointing. It did build up nicely without going cakey but it was a bit of a mission trying to get it all to blend. Would not recommend applying with fingers as a brush gives a better finish.

The Oil Free bit was true to its word and it held all day and didn’t slide off at all. I didn’t notice any shiny patches through out the day.

All in all it is ok, not the best BB Cream I have used and again not the worst. It is affordable and I would purchase it again if I needed something in a hurry that was easily accessible from a supermarket etc.

Tips: For best results apply with a angled kabuki brush and definitely use a finishing/setting powder as it aides the dewy matte finish.

Not for Oily/Combo Skin.

3. Write your review covering the following areas:

Skin Type - My Skin type is oily/combination. The product I was sent was full sized and the label said it was for oily to combination skin. Unfortunately, I found after only a couple of hours (with and without primer) it melted off and I became super shiny! Not good considering it's not summer, and summer time is usually the time I opt for BB cream over my normal foundation. Consistency - The consistency was very very runny, liquidy. I got it everywhere the first time I used it. While I liked that it was light weight, it was abit too liquidy. Application - It was alright to apply, as long as you don't squeeze the tube on your face (which I'm sometimes guilty of) and use a beauty blender. Otherwise, using fingers or a stipple brush seemed almost impossible for an even, decent coverage/finish. Fragrance - It doesn't have a strong smell. It doesn't smell like much at all. Coverage - This is a super, super light coverage. It does minimise pores and cover a bit of redness and uneven skin tone. Super ideal for young teenagers and young skin. Longevity - Again, it didn't last long on me at all. Barely two or three hours. And I was not doing alot during the cold winter week. Price - Compared the the Maybelline BB cream, this simply does not stack up for me. I would not buy this product, it simply would be a waste. Packaging - The packaging was certainly nothing special. Very clean, but also boring and a bit outdated compared to other products. Results - Overall, I didn't enjoy this product very much. It didn't do anything for my skin, and didn't last long. Could only possibly use it under foundation for a fuller coverage rather than on it's own. Would you recommend it - I would not reccomend this to anyone in my age group 18-20. It is definetely more suitable for the age bracket 13-16.

Packaging needs a facelift

I squeezed it lightly for an initial swatch of the product on my hand but heaps of cream just oozed out... spillage aside, everything went ok for the swatching. First impression - nice tone (light) and though the cream is a bit more runny than my liking, I did not dismiss it straight away. I actually liked how it blended really well when I swatched it on my hand. On the face, a slight squeeze again on the tube made a lot of the cream oozed out. I found that I needed to use more in quantity than other BB creams I have tried. It leaves the skin even-toned & oil-free but that did not last long though. After 2 hours I found the skin a bit patchy and the parts I wanted to cover was showing up... I don't usually reapply BB cream half way through the day but I had to because I didn't look like I had anything on my face by midday and some red patches showed through.

Tips: Be extra careful when unscrewing the cap and when squeezing the product out. Put it in your handbag for reapplication throughout the day (if required).
