Garnier BB Cream - Sensitive Review - Medium

My skin type is combination, and I get oily around my T zone and have dry spots on my cheeks. I enjoyed this product and thought it went well with my skin type. I suffer from some redness which it says it reduces, but I didn't really see a difference apart from a little more even skin tone. I also own the BB cream by Maybelline and found it to be quite similar the only difference being that Garnier's BB Cream felt lighter on the face which I preferred a a lot more than Maybellines.

I would repurchase this item because its good for days when I don't want to wear to much or to little and has the right amount of coverage as well as a nice creamy smooth consistency which is easy and quick to apply. The product lasted the day which was amazing without me feeling gross by the end of it. I like that it is non fragranced because it feels more natural on the skin.

I found this product to be quite disappointing - I'll go through the things that Garnier says it does, and say what I thought of those claims.

Reduces redness - you can still see the redness in my cheeks, unless you try and apply it so heavily that it looks greasy. It doesn't really conceal blemishes either, I have had to wear concealer with this as well, so I definitely wouldn't say that it's an all-in-one product either. In terms of the UV protection, I don't think it's really adequate. No one would apply the 1/4tsp or so that you need to get the SPF 15, when I tried to the BB cream was sliding all over my face - and surely they must know that no one is doing that. So realistically it's more like an SPF of 3 or 4, which is in no way enough for the strong UV rays in NZ. Because it's a chemical sunscreen, it'd need to be reapplied every 2-3 hours, which you can't do if you're wearing other make up over this, so the sun protection element is basically worthless in my opinion. People who do not understand the science of sunscreen will be assuming that they are adequately protected while wearing this BB cream when they really aren't, so I actually think it'd be better to have left it out of the formula.

I also didn't find this to be particularly hydrating, I still wore moisturiser with it. It says it's for sensitive skin, and I didn't have any irritation from it, so that's good. I got this in the shade light and it matched well - I wear NW 20 in MAC foundations, for context.

Compared to the excellent BB creams available from Korea, Garnier has really missed the boat with this in my opinion. It's neither particularly moisturising, nor does it give good coverage. I'll hang onto it and use it for days when I just want a very light coverage but I'll still use a proper sunscreen with it.

I'd not used a BB cream before. I have dry sensitive skin, so it made sense to try the sensitive skin type, I also chose the colour light. Packaging is pretty basic – the box is typical of supermarket packaging with a lot of text plastered over it, and the tube itself is a regular plastic tube, easy enough to use and control flow. The consistency is nice – looks quite thick and creamy yet when applied to the skin (I used fingers) it easily blends out like your moisturiser would. The coverage is definitely sheer – remember this is by no means a foundation, even though at first glance before applied to skin it looks like one. The finish to me was nor matte or dewy – an in between if you can imagine. I then used my bronzer on top - this was easily applied and sat well over the BB Cream, and gave me the extra colour that I needed.

Verdict.. Yes it definitely worked well re the sensitive skin, it did not irritate at all. And yes it did feel hydrating and illuminating on applying, also great that it contains UV protection. It did even my skin out to a certain degree – but not to the point where I thought wow - this stuff is amazing! I found the end result after a few hours of wear was my face felt greasy and shiny – I wanted to either smooth it out or just wash it off. I personally feel that BB Creams actually are not designed to correct a blemished skin.. I think they suit and look perfect on an already perfect skin.

This make up was easy to apply however didnt give me much coverage at all. I have a very uneven skin tone and i found myself still not happy with the coverage after two applications. I also have very sensitive skin and this make up did not irritate it at all.

I've always been curious to try BB Cream, and was a bit apprehensive at first as to how my skin, which can sometimes be quite sensitive, would react. This product was/ is great. It did not feel cakey on my face, and made my make up last all day. I thought the shade might have been a bit too dark for me, even though it was the lightest one possible haha, but it looked quite natural on and I prefer it to my foundation. Will definitely be continuing to use this product.

I have been using this all week. My skin (being sensitive) feels quite lovely, although I did have a small breakout on one cheek. It certainly makes the skin soft and it isn't at all greasy. very nice to use (nice shade too)

Well here goes my first review! The product packaging was eye catching and informative, listing the properties and how to apply it. I used my regular toner and moisturiser before applying the BB cream with my fingers. It was easy to apply, no streaking, and blended well with my fair skin tone. With one coat it covered quite a bit of redness but I recommend two coats if you want extra coverage. A little went a long way, just a dab really, very economical. It leaves you with a Dewey, fresh complexion and lasted all day with me. I am prone to get reactions from some products but this cream was fine for me. I would definitely recommend this, just remember to wash your hands after applying!

I have very fair colored skin and I was sent the Light BB Cream which matched like perfection!

I love the PACKAGING, Its simple but cute. It has a flip cap (for people like me who eventually loses lids to everything, this was a small, but important bonus haha) The squeeze packaging works well for this product. It's very easy to control the amount that comes out.

The CONSISTENCY is a like a mixture of creamy liquid foundation and smooth sunblock. (FYI it feels divine when you apply it! oh so silky)

The smell of any product is always a biggy for me, I have very sensitive skin and instantly feel sick with certain fragrances, but this BB cream was so gentle and light on my skin I couldn't even feel it once I had applied it. It has a very slight FRAGRANCE, similar to sunblock, but it isn't over powering at all and it fades away completely as soon as you apply it.

APPLICATION is so easy, I personally just applied it like a moisturizer on my face and neck using my fingers/hands.

The Finsh for this BB cream is sheer, but you can build it up to get lovely fresh coverage that doesn't look heavy or caked on...

You only need a small amount, it applies so smoothly, so a little goes a long way. I use a pea size amount which covered my whole face and down my neck.

The thing I loved most about this Cream is that it works wonders to even out skin tone and taking away redness!! (My skin goes red and blotchy for a while after having a hot shower, I used the BB cream straight after the shower and it instantly calmed the redness and it soothed my skin, I have never found anything that has done that before!) LOVE!!

I prefer to have full coverage when I go to work, so I used the BB cream as a base for my foundation instead of my usual concealer, as it does have a rather sheer finish. It has been Great! My skin changes during the day, it'll be dry in the morning then shiny and oily in the afternoon which is such a pain, but the BB cream really helped smooth out my skin in the morning which made my mineral powder foundation last a full 8 hours without needing touch ups. When I am just pottering around home or running errands i wear the BB cream on its own. Its amazing by itself and lasts all day, without going patchy or drying out.

For $17.49 this is an amazingly good product. And its always on special in the supermarkets, sometimes for as little as $10!! Such a steal

I would definitely definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone, especially if you have sensitive skin. It makes your skin feel so hydrated and soft with out any shine or greasiness. Its a flipping Win Win :)

I have sensitive skin that can be quite dry and red. Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream was light and almost watery on the skin, spread easily but didn't blend very well when using the fingers. The BB cream didn't have a very strong fragrance, and I couldn't smell it after I had applied it. It had a VERY sheer coverage - even after two applications it covered very little. The product latest most of the day in some areas of my face (around the nose, chin, forehead) but seemed to melt away in the other areas. I think price wise, you pay for what you get. I find cheaper BB creams to be more like tinted moisturizers than anything else - offering little coverage and none of the miraculous perfecting qualities they all claim to have. The packaging was inoffensive and clean. After using the product for 10 days, I saw little/no difference in my skin, in fact, it was more dry than it was when I began. I might recommend this to a friend who was looking for an inoffensive tinted moisturiser, but definitely not if they were looking for a miracle performing BB cream.
