As a professional beauty therapist I have used and tried many different nail varnish brands and types over the years. Revlon polishes have never disappointed me. I’m loving this new gel effect range, you get the gel look without the need to soak them off!! The colour range is great too!!

This is a fantastic nail polish that leaves your nails with a gel like effect, without the fuss of gel nail polish. There is a wide variety of colours available and when used with the top and base coat, there is an optimal gel like appearance. The nail polish is long lasting, but is easily removed unlike regular gel polish. The formula is wonderful and leaves my nails streak free and smooth as well. Will definitely use again!
Tips: Use with top coat for an even better finish
The top coat is my go to! With a base coat and the Revlon diamond top coat you can make ANY nail polish look perfect! I'm a stay at home mum so get pretty rough and messy and I can go a week before getting a chip. I love it!
The polish looks just like a gel! The colour is thick and has good coverage. Drys fast. Then the gel envy top coat seals it in with a high gloss/shine. It lasts on my nails for nearly 2 weeks!!!
Tips: Make sure each coat is dry before applying the next. As it is thick, if you apply too much at once it won't dry properly.
No need for a base coat, just apply two coats on to clean dry nails then apply the specially formulated Gel Envy Top coat and your ready to rock. Apart from shellac nails, nothing stays on my nails for more than two days before the chipping begins but this formulation has lasted on me for a maximum of five days although it claims it stays on for eleven. I guess it depends on the physical aspects of what you do with your hands on a daily basis. The matte cream colours ( I own four colours now) are very creamy and deep pigmented. The brush applies the enamel evenly and easily. Fairly quick drying and the top coat gives it a beautiful glossy finish. Very easy to remove with ordinary nail polish remover except you have to rub and persist a little longer with the glittery colours because as with all glitter nail enamels that is their nature. Smells like most nail polishes. I found my nail beds were very dry upon removing the enamel, I just compensated by using a treatment like Hydranail by Manicare. This is my new nail polish range and so loving the colours Revlon has put out. Once, I used the Wild Card (matte finish) then I applied The Sky's The Limit (shimmer finish) on top, the outcome was amazing.
Tips: It's pointless just buying the nail colour without the top coat and that means having to spend up to $40 on your first buy. The specials at the pharmacies are $24 for two till the end of the month.
I'm a total nail polish freak and tried them all. And Revlon Envy Gel nail polishes are my new obsession. The bottle says it lasts chip free for 14 days which sounded like a dream come true. So I went and bought a couple of colours to try.
It says to let them dry in natural UV light so I applied during the day first. It was smooth to put on and it dried quite quickly. The colours are true and covering even with one coat. Top coat applied and off I went to inspect my nails everyday. I work in an office and have to type a lot, at home I cook and clean. And my verdict - i lasted and lasted chip free for 7 days. Not 14 days as promised but 7 days are pretty amazing if you ask me.
They were also easy to remove with normal nail polish remover.
Next I applied it in the evening with no natural UV light around. The only difference I noticed was that it took a little longer to dry but that's the only difference for me. All colours worked really well - if dark or light.
Money well spend for any obsessed nail polish user like me!
Tips: Make sure to cover the all nail polish with the top coat.
I've bought five of these since Christmas so I am clearly loving them. I have Wild Card, Full House, Winning Streak, High Stakes and Checkmate as well as the top coat. My favourite colour so far would have to be Wild Card which is a really vibrant colbalt blue. It has something else to it though which makes it look like no blue I've ever seen before.
The application is easy! Apply two coats of colour and then the top coat. I find that I could get away with one coat of colour but two make it that much more vivid and amazing. The polish dries relatively fast although you do need to be careful with denting. Sometimes it feels dry to the touch but it can still dent so definitely give yourself ample time when using.
What I love about these polishes is that there is no need for the UV lamp. I find that a UV lamp feels like it is burning my fingers so I don't look forward to using gel polish. But with this polish, problem solved. Gel polish with no burning.
In order to get a streak free and shiny finish, it's good to experiment with how much product you apply at once. I find that if you apply too little, it gets streaky and doesn't look as nice when finished (even with two coats) so typically I apply a little more than I usually would with a normal polish.
I can't find anything to say how long the polish is supposed to last but it does say it is long wearing. I would consider this polish to be long wearing. I found that I wore this for 4-5 days with it still looking good (minimal fading at the fingertips) and probably could have stretched it out to another couple of days.
Ok how bad is this I wasn't even aware Revlon did gel polishes until I scored a free top coat from shopping online at farmers.
The round bottle is nice to hold with a a long brush handle, the bristles on the brush are long but standard, it's not a flat brush and no rounded corners.
This has a weird scent, yes weird! It's not the typical nail polish smell it's almost like a burnt plastic smell, it lasted for 2 days before it disappeared.
I applied 1 coat of this to freshly painted nails and it dried within a couple of minutes. It was easy to apply and the end result was smooth shiny nails.
My nails stayed shiny and I had no chipping or wear for 5 days, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't want to like this because I have my old faithful that I love, and this comes fairly close to my favourite But well....that horrid scent..... I now want to try some of the colours, to see if they are as good as the top coat.
I use to get my nails done on a regular basis with gel polish but have since found this hard with 3 young children so I decided to try the Revlon Gel Envy. The range of colours are fantastic and quite good value at around $20 each including the top coat. The colour doesn't last as long as professional gel nails but does last a bit longer than regular polish and it has a great gel-like shine. One coat gives a thick, good coverage but I do still prefer to do 2 before the top coat. What I like most is that I can get a gel-like polish without having to use a uv light which I do question it's safety of continued use so I like using this at home alternative.
I “LOVE” these nail polishes, I’ve been buying them since they first came out on the market and will continue to do so. The colour selection is awesome, they go on beautifully and with two coats, along with a top coat, give a great, smooth, shiny finish. Like most nail polishes, you can get about half a bottle use out of them before they start going a bit thick and gluggy, but no different from any other of the more pricey brands I’ve tried.
Reasonably quick drying, and a fab finish, ticks all the boxes for me!!
