Not as great as I was expecting

I'm not 100% sure that I really like this foundation for a few reasons. Firstly, the packaging isn't great, and it is so easy to pour out way too much product as there is no pump. It doesn't have a very nice smell either, but it fades away quite soon after being applied. I also found that it doesn't give very good coverage at all, and it moved around a lot on my face and went very patchy, although this could be because I have oily skin. Its also kind of hard to apply nicely with a brush, I found that a beauty blender made it look nicer. It didn't oxidise as much as I thought it would, but it still does a little bit. Maybe it is better suited to those with drier skin? But its not really my cup of tea.

Tips: Definitely use a beauty blender or a sponge, and set with a powder or setting spray.

Matte and Poreless and Dewy and Smooth in 110

I was so stoked to see these new formulations of the fitme foundation pop up for sale in my shade on trademe. 110 is the lightest shade, and while readily available overseas is extremely hard to come by in New Zealand. It is a wee bit light for me in summer but is a perfect fit for me in winter. Fitme foundation was the first foundation I ever used (some 15 years ago! ) and was one I really liked at the time. After hearing such great things about the new formulations I was extremely excited to try these out.

Dewy and smooth was an absolute dream to apply- I used my flathead kabuki brush for this. I found that I needed to use a pore filling primer with this, but because this is such a dewy formulation I didn't feel like I also needed a moisturizing primer. The coverage of this is medium, certainly not enough to give me any coverage over my acne. The finish is what it says on the bottle-dewy, but not overly shiny. While I don't have oily skin, I did find that this got oily on my nose after being on my skin for a few hours. I tried this foundation with powder to set, and without. I found that if I didn't set with powder, that I only had about 4 hours of wear time. However I found that if I did set with powder, that I had a lot of settling in my fine lines and wrinkles- not a good look.

Matte and Poreless was a bit unpredictable for me. I found that despite its claims, that I needed to use a porefilling or smoothing primer underneath. However I still found that this foundation settled into my pores, particularly when it was hot. I found that you had to be rather quick with your application as this formula set rather quickly on the skin. I didn't find that this highlighted any dry patches like some matte foundations do, which was nice. The longevity of this formula was a little better than the dewy and smooth, however I still felt that this was medium coverage, and trying to build up the coverage anymore only led to cakiness.

While I do think that these are great entry level foundations, they simply didn't work for my skin- not enough coverage and not very flattering on my large pores. It also really bothers me that the lightest shade concealer in the fitme range is darker than this foundation- what gives Maybelline?! I will continue to use these and experiment with different primers however, as I love the shade range.

I sort of like it

This foundation gives me a rather light coverage which is perfect for me as I don't always wear foundation. However, I purchased the lightest colour and it was still a bit too dark. There was no tester so I can only use it in Summer. I would not be able to fault this foundation if they had it for my skin tone.

Not a fan.

I bought this product whilst on holiday overseas and it was on sale really cheap. But even at the lower price I bought it at, I just couldn't find myself liking it.

The colour match was ok - not great, but fine enough to wear. I wouldn't wear it alone; I had a powder over top to blend the colour. The coverage was also fine for what I was wanting as I do not like a heavy coverage.

What really turned me off this product is that it dried out and looked quite cakey on (even though it was not a heavy coverage). I cannot stand the feeling of dried out makeup or the look of it either (as I always wear a powder overtop - this product just made the powder look dry).

I am not saying this is a bad product overall - it just did not suit my skin. If you are able to get it on sale, it would be worth giving it a go as the coverage would suit everyday wear. But for me, this product just did not work.

Tips: Can dry out and feel heavy - use a mist over top.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

I gave this foundation a go as it looked to be good and the colour was perfect for my skin. It did what it said it would in the sense that my skin was able to breath and stay feeling fresh, however, it did not meet my expectations. This foundation felt good on my skin, but it was quite thin and did not provide the type of coverage that I prefer, it also left my skin quite greasy/oily looking and I had to keep reapplying powder throughout the day. If you are only looking for light coverage just to even out skin tone, this product could be great for you! However, out of preference I like a little bit more coverage (to hide those little imperfections of my skin!).

Tips: Use along with the Maybelline Fit Me compact powder.

A drugstore foundation that is actually alright

This foundation actually in pressed me . It's really pigmentated yet it let's my freckles shine through. I love that it is easy apply an remove at the end of the day . I think that this foundation would be ideal for people just starting to get onto make up as it was really easy to apply an blend out nicely an it wasnot to full covalent which meant my freckles where still visible. An I appeared as if I wasn't wearing a full face which in fact I was , it's smooth an creamy texture is great as I was able to apply with a foundation brush , a flat top brush an Beauty blenders . An absolute essential for an make up lover .

Tips: Apply reasonable fast to prevent product drying on skin before being blended out nicely

Did not FIT ME!

I did not buy this foundation, however it was gifted to me by a family member for my 21st and a few other things. As I was eager to try it out, I found that it caused my skin to bring out a lot of oil. My skin type is dry/oily, so this did not help out at all. I really loved that the shade was definitely the right one, but it made the dry patches on my face more visible. *Coverage, I did not like as well. Its very minimum coverage and the foundation easily comes off, even when using a setting spray. Would I recommend this to a friend?. I would not, if I know that it won't work for them.

Do not recommend!!

I absolutely hated this foundation. My skin is usually quite dry but this foundation made me super oily every time i used it. It also oxidised really bad and within a couple of hours of putting it on i was an orange oily mess

Just doesn't quite 'fit'

The initial colour and cover was fairly good and I was happy with it when I initially put it on. However, it moved an awful lot, faded and wasn't very matte. I put setting spray over it and primer under it, it still moved. I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations.

Fit me not

I enjoyed the products final finishes as an overall foundation, I thought that it wasn't particularly long lasting but for a casual first timer this was not too much of an issue. However, being one of the only foundations that say's fit me and then proceeds to not have my shade of colour anywhere in their collection upsets me.

Tips: Primer. Use Primer.I found that this bought out alot of oil. SO dont use if you have oily skin.
