Maybelline Baby Lips Love Color Review

I brought this, not realizing it was different from the original baby lips, so it was a welcomed surprised when i realized it had a slight tint to it.

As for the pacakging. It is the exact same as the original baby lips, coming in a plastic cylinder container with a lid that pop on and off. The only slight difference in packaging is that this range has the word 'colour' on the packaging, but this wasn't something id noticed initially, so it clearly doesn't have much impact.

The lip balm is solid, and twists up out of the cylnder tube. It is pinky-red in colour, and its quite hydrating, without being greasy, of waxy so that's awesome. It not only adds a hint of colour to my lips, but also adds a slight shine so this is a balm i can wear when im wearing a low maintenance look, no makeup at all, or even when im all dolled up and want a simple lip. Really versatile, and is small so its easy to take with you everywhere.

I have this in the cherry colour. I love that this lip balm is like a lip balm with the pigment of a lipstick. My lips feel moisturised and the light wash of colour makes me look like I have put some effort into my makeup (even if I haven't!).

These are just a great and simple lip balm. I always have one of these on the go. Perfect to pop in your handbag and works well to prevent dry lips.

A staple in my makeup bag! These little balms are great quality and make my lips feel nice and hydrated.

I have repurchased over and over!

I picked this up on a race through of the warehouse. It had been out a while and I had seen it around previously.

Part of me was curious about the range but I had a feeling they would be sort of like a chapstick as that has the same tube style. Does it melt easily? is this why they picked that packaging rather than a lipstick style. The tube is still more cleaner than a little tub of balm with fingers going in repeatedly.

There is a slight scent to this, cherry or berry? It is also tinted lightly pink. This is what I may call a make up for the gym, rather than wear no makeup at the gym this is so you don't feel makeup naked. This is a cheaper version of the Chubby sticks Baby Tint from Clinique and substantially cheaper on the pocket.

I don't plan on buying this again unless they change the packaging as I like to show off my lipstick.

You really can't go wrong with maybelline lip balms. I brought this today (so cheap, if you loose one it won't break the bank) and I have one in every flavour and in almost every pocket!

The tint is lovely, just red enough to give your face a bit of colour, but not bold enough to overpower your look. As per usual, the lip balm does the job. It's smooth application, lasts a decent amount of time and smells yummy as... All it needs is a hint of spf and it'd be perfect.

This tinted balm claims it can give you moisture for 8 hours but really that depends if you want to keep reapplying it. It does have a slight tint but I don't think it made a difference given that my lips are darker. It did give a hint of shine and kept them moisturized for an hour or two but really this is another case of you get what you pay for. I would've rather spent my money on a pack of basic lip balms and applied a bit of lipstick over that but since I have this I will use it up.

Sorry Maybelline, but you've lost me on this one. I was really eager to invest in a tinted balm to keep in my car for every day use on the go. Last minute coffee catch ups, appointments. Something to make me feel a wee bit pretty and glam that takes 2 seconds to apply. That's what I wanted. What I got was a total flop! Maybelline products have never really let me down in the past, in fact, their mascaras are often my faves. I'm only grateful that this lip balm cost me less than $5 from Kmart, otherwise I might've been spitting tacks so to speak. Lets start with the color - I purchased the red one, so I can't confirm whether the others are just as bad as this one. The color looked nice going on, it looked a lot more like an oily lipstick rather than a colored lip balm though. After about 20 minutes out of my car, the color was entirely gone. My lips were dry and not at all moisturized. The worst part was the taste. It was like wax. Slightly perfumed wax. Even after doing the finger trick when applying, I noticed some on my teeth a short period later. It was so waxy. End story, for me the baby lips is a solid no in basically every aspect. Other than affordability and convenience of purchasing almost anywhere. Pharmacies, supermarkets, the warehouse, kmart and farmers - I've seen it at all of these locations. My experience definitely hasn't put me off Maybelline products though, my very first mascara at 16 years old was the Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara and I still swear by it to this day. xxx

I love Baby Lips lipbalms - they're readily available, cute, cheap and they give you a bit of hydration and gloss. You get what you pay for - they're no long term solution - but they're a good regular go-to

These promise more colour but it's rally a tint, there's nothing impressive.

As with all Baby Lips, the packaging is funky and cute, without being too girly.

I have this in the cherry colour and I use it most mornings! It definitely works at moisturizing my lips, but I find the moisturized feeling doesnt last quite long enough compared to another branded chapstick I use during the day. I love the colour of this! It's just enough colour to be noticeable but not over powering. It gives my lips a really nice pop of colour. I want to try other colours!
