I decided to pick me up one of these liquid lipsticks because they all looked amazing. The one that spoke out to me the most was retro coral which is a pink coral.
I love the packaging as it's sleek and elegant compared to many of the other brands of liquid lipsticks. The applicator is a doe foot applicator like many of the other brands that have there own liquid lipsticks but I find that it is a little bit thinner which makes it easier to apply on my lips.
The formula is so creamy it just glides on your lips without hassle. This liquid lipstick does take a little while for it to dry completely matte so it gives you enough time to even out the application. I have also found that this formula doesn't clump up on my lips or show up my fine lines on my lips.
This liquid lipstick seems to last on my lips all day or all night. If I do wear it throughout the morning to evening I do have to reapply in the afternoon.
The only thing I dislike is the smell of the product in the actual tube but once it's on the lips you can't smell it at all.
I couldn't resist all the instagram photos showing up on a daily basis. Sad Girl called to me, and I wanted to try something a little more wearable - so I got Lovely as well.
I like the packaging, to me it's sleek and elegant. The applicator is a 'doe foot applicator'. It comes out holding quite a bit of product, a quick swipe to get take a little bit off it makes it easier to apply - it just glides on, so too much on the applicator makes a bit of a mess.
The formula is so creamy and as I said - glides on. So smooth. It feels a little strange to me while it's drying, almost oily. This is probably normal for a liquid lipstick, I haven't used many. They dry to matte fairly quickly, but leave a slight tackiness. It's not sticky, just ever so slight catch to it. They're a bit unforgiving on dry lips, showing up the lines on your lips, but it still looks great! (An extra layer in an attempt to cover that makes it too heavy and the lines look worse.)
It wears really well, I had 4 hours without any problem with Lovely, I'm sure it would have gone longer. Sad Girl was a little shorter wear time, (it's so bold that the wear shows more - but I did eat dinner while wearing it) After that it started to sort of collect on the slightly drier bit on the inner edge of my bottom lip. It wasn't hugely noticeable, but I could feel it starting to cake there.
Sad Girl is such a gorgeous shade. So many people say it's really unique - and that is just the best word to describe it! The website describes it as a "deep burgundy with purple iridescence." When that 'iridescence' catches the light it's just so gorgeous! It's bold, and quite vampy, but it's just...unique!! I have worn Lovely a lot more. It's just a sweet (I really wanted to write lovely!) "mauve pink" and I know it will stay in my more regular rotation of lipsticks.
All up - really impressed! I may (translates to definitely will) have to buy more!
Tips: Exfoliate and moisturise before application so it doesn't stick to dry skin. But - don't leave cakey lip balm on because the lipstick wont dry.
