Lips went red

I purchased the peachy coloured one, and after wearing it for 10 minutes, my lips looked like I had eated a raspberry iceblock. It had changed colour on my lips to a bright tacky pink. It also wasn't very clear that it acts a lip plumper, which i do not normally purchase.

Tips: Do a swatch on hand and leave for 20 mins before deciding to purchase

Almost, but not quite.

have such a love/hate relationship with this lipstain - in many ways it's an ideal product for me, but the specific shade that I got (Honey) has a few downfalls which unfortunately mean I'm only able to give it three lippies. I shall try to elaborate...

In terms of the way this feels and lasts on my lips, I love it. It's got a nice balmy feel and (almost slightly cooling) peppermint smell which means I enjoy applying it. Plus, it's nice and pigmented, and is pretty much opaque with one or two swipes. I'd say that the balm lasts for an average time - two or three hours, but as lip-balms go that's pretty good. Once the balm has worn off, it obviously feels drier, but for me it's ridiculously simple to just apply my everyday clear lipbalm over the top, and I'm good to go again. The stain lasts me at least five or six hours, depending on when/what I eat or drink in that time-frame. So in terms of wear, I say great!

However, this specific shade, Honey, changes colour on my lips after a short time (about 15/20 minutes, usually). I picked up this shade because I wanted an easy MLBB colour for school and work. It goes on as my ideal colour, but, as has happened to other reviewers, it soon morphs into a much brighter, almost fuchsia pink. Sometimes I don't mind that, but in general I want it to stay the shade it goes on as - if I wanted bright pink lips I'd have bought a bright pink shade! So that sucks.

If it weren't for the colour-changing issue, I'd definitely give this four or five lippies. As it is, I may try a different shade sometime (although I'll wait for a sale - these balm-stains are about $23 here in NZ), but I'll definitely read up on reviews first to make sure that I don't end up with the same issue as I did with this colour.

Tips: Apply a regular lipbalm a few minutes before the balm-stain and it will glide on perfectly smoothly. :)

Pop in the bag

I have one lip stain in the colour 010 Darling Cherie, its a pretty deep purpleish pink colour. I really like the slight menthol smell, it leave a slight tingle on the lips and is quite pleasant. I like the smooth formula as it feels moisturising on the lips. I think that this is something you can apply without a mirror, which makes it great for a night out. The colour is long lasting, and defiantly leaves a stain on the lip. The packing does feel a little cheap and plasticy but I do like that it twists up.

I think this is a great product to have, as its easy to use, and looks nice on the lips. Its not my favorite lip product, but it is something that I keep coming back to every now and then.

Tips: Great to use if you have slightly flacky lips as it doesn't sink into cracks like some lipsticks can.

good but one downfall

I like others love the way these feel so nice when first applied to lips, feels just like lip balm. And the colour does last for hours which is fantastic. However, like others I have experienced the colour change as well. I have a pale pastel purple shade and after an hour or so my lips look bright pink! So I keep applying to get the pastel purple look again, and just end up a brighter pink! a little annoying that the product needs to be applied often to keep the original colour. If the colour just stayed the same I would be in love :)

Tips: really be careful which shade you get, as the initial colour changes.

Long lasting!

I have had this lip stain for a few months now, and I have it in 'precious' which is a nude sparkly colour. It is very wearable, smooth and long lasting. It is very easy to apply and is small and handy to carry around in your purse. I LOVE IT:)

Tips: GET IT;)

Kissable, Lickable, Champagne Drinkable...

I have dry lips. Lipstick loves to cling to any dry patches and make me look like i'm going for the fish scale lip look, divine dah-ling. BUT I absolutely adore these lip stains! Ease of a lipgloss and longevity of a great lippy, bliss. I have the colours 001 Honey and 020 Lovesick, a peachy pink toned nude and a vibrant fuschia. These are so easy to wear. Smear on a bit of lipbalm, blot, and swipe on the stain and you're good to go for the whole day with sheer to vibrant colour depending on how much you put on. I'm smitten with Honey for the day and Lovesick for an intense night time look that wont transfer onto your champers glass ;) P.S. yes they are kissable

Tips: Dry lipped girls - be sure to exfoliate and moisturise if you're having a bad lip day. After you've slathered the stain on, it traps in the moisture from your lip balm whilst moisturising itself, so you can take the stain with you and reapply for more intensity without worrying about dryness. That means more room in your makeup bag!! Now what to put in there instead...

Lip Stain

In the cold I get really dry, sore lips so this was exactly what I needed to give my lips long lasting colour, fullness and gloss! I would definitely purchase more!

Revlon Kissable lip balm

I love the hint of mint flavouring with the application. The colour can be subtle or intense depending on the number of coats you apply. I chose the colour Rendezvous which is a vibrant spring orange colour. The thick crayon packaging is very unique and makes it easy to apply. The stain means the colour lasts even after eating a meal.

Tips: One light coat for a subtle gloss or run the crayon over your lip several times for a more vibrant colour.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain

I really like this product. I find that the colours are true to the packaing and the stain is nice and doesn't dry out my lips, like other stains do.

Tips: if you have really dry lips use another balm underneath and then this on top

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain

This is my favourite product for high intensity lip colour that lasts all day. Application is much easier than with a lipstick, the only flaw is that it does seem to dry out my sensitive lips if I don't balm them frequently. I love this in the shade 'Victorian' which is a dark pink colour.

Tips: Keep the balm handy to reapply when your lips start to feel dry. The colour will not budge.
