Ummmmm kissable lips with this baby

I have heard rave reviews over these stains from Revlon and thought I would jump on the bandwagon too.

Texture/Formula - I love how it glides on really smoothly and feels quite creamy when applied.

Application - I struggle with dry lips and usually have to exfoliate my lips before applying any type of colour. I wanted to see how good it was, so applied it without my usual lip exfoliator. Well, I must say I was amazed, it hasn't left me with that nasty skin on the top of my lips, usually it shows up with other lip products. This may just be one of my holy grail products.

The stick - I like that it is in a stick form as it makes it so easy to apply, like using crayons on paper, but for my lips. Its not too big and not too small and its compact enough to fit in a bag and take with you on the run for quick touchups through out the day.

I only have one of these babies, and its in the Precious shade, which is a type of nude/natural colour and I really love it. Will definitely consider branching out into some other colours.

Tips: Buy it, you'll love it ;-)

perfect for everyday

I own two of these and they're both absolutely fantastic. I'm in my last year of school, so I have an incredibly hectic schedule at the moment but these are so quick and easy to apply that I can be in a rush and still look put together. My everyday favourite is 'Honey', which is a perfect neutral with anything I'm wearing. It lives in my bag so I can throw it on on the go. It starts off glossy looking because of the balm, when the sheen wears off it truly does stain your lips to leave them slightly coloured. The crayon like applicator means its easy to put on even without the aid of a mirror, and the twist up means that you don't end up wasting any product through sharpening. I would recommend this to anyone that needs something on the go, or even younger women just starting to get into makeup who aren't comfortable wearing an opaque lip yet :)

Moisturising, colour stay - a must in your kit!

I have a bunch of these and I love them. They are soft, moisturising, leave a subtle long-lasting stain on the lips and the colours are so pretty. I'd totally recommend Honey - a great every day nude colour that suits all skin tones!

Tips: Mix and match different colours to achieve a different look!

Long-lasting colour!

I tried this after searching stores for an orange lip colour for summer and found the lovely Rendezvous. I really like the crayon-style applicator which made it really easy to apply, great for when you want a quick touch up. The stain applied nice and even with a slight balmy feel to it, so you get a little bit of moisture. If you're really wanting a balm effect, I'd suggest layering it with a clear lip balm over it, such as Lucas Paw Paw ointment, as I found that although the stain itself lasted a really long time throughout drinking and eating, the balmy feeling wore off quickly. I would still touch up after eating and drinking to keep the colour looking fresh. It comes with a lot of product and you only need to apply it lightly so this is great value for money.

Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes experimenting with colours, and wants something long-lasting for day or night which isn't as heavy as a lipstick.

Love the finish and colour variety

I picked a couple of these up, one in the gloss and two in the matte finishes purely on the colour offered.

In the gloss I got the deep red that has great pigmentation, lasts incredibly well for a shiny finish and was ok up to the point of eating. In the matte I got the beige/pink shade and the purple. Now these are like velvet on my lips, they were easy to apply, made my lips feel soft and were nearly smudge proof until I ate something, but the odd peck on the partner or accidental rub of the finger across them didn't move it.

Design wise I adore the chunky pencil its just the right size to be comfortable to hold and use, the use of a matte finish for matte shades and a metallic finish for the shiny/gloss shades make it stand out easy on my dresser and with each pencil being the colour of the shade inside its easy to grab and go. Found no problems with the lid and even when I did leave it off one of them overnight (oops!! naughty me I know) I was happy to find that the product had not dried out and was just as smooth to use.

I love it, another lipstick to collect as the choice in colours is growing was hard to just walk out with 3 I wanted all of them.

Just Bitten, Just a bit average

I'm not sure where I went wrong with this product. People seem to rave about it, perhaps it was because I bought the lighter shades (Charm [peach], Precious [nude] and Rendezvous [orange]) or maybe I'm just not used to the sheerness of a lipstain. I don't particularly enjoy Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Lipstains. They are not very pigmented and far too glossy for my liking.

In hindsight, I should have purchased the matte version, they're much more suited to me.

The stain is not very pigmented, more appropriate to label them as a lip tint, and they are quite glossy (kind of comparable to a tinted lip gloss). I'm not a fan of glossy formulas, I absolutely hate it when my hair sticks to my lips on a windy day.

I think the packaging has its pros and cons. I like the stick form, application is easy and you can wind the balm up and down like a lipstick. But I don't think it would be one for my hand bag as the cap seems pretty loose.

A bit of a hit and miss product for me.

Tips: Perfect if you love sheer, glossy lips.

Woohoo! Love!

I own this balm stain in the peachy coral colour and I absolutely adore it! It is the most beautiful, playful, spring colour which adds a pop of colour whilst keeping your lips very natural looking.

Firstly, the smell is wonderful. I'm a sucker for anything minty on the lips and this is definitely minty. I think the mint is supposed to make the lips plumper and I really do think it helps to round them out a bit. Mint is a lot less boring than no flavour at all so that is good for me!

The packaging is kind of cool, its almost like a jumbo eyeshadow pencil or crayon and there is a lot in there! They each have the colour of the balm stain on the package which makes it extra handy to locate the colour you're after as well. The label does rub off after a bit so if thats something that bugs you then stay clear. I am happy to report that the lid stays put so it can easily be put into the hand bag without risk of a lipstick explosion (do lipsticks explode?? I don't think so but needles to say there will be no unexpected mess in your bag ladies!)

The product itself is very nourishing. I find you really do have to exfoliate the lips first though, especially with the lighter colours it has a tendency to show up every bit of dried skin but if you take the time to exfoliate its great. The product glides one easily, it is kind of opaque at first but i like to really rub it in with my finger like you would a potted lip balm and that helps the stain to sink in and makes it look more natural.

The stain does last for a while which is nice but it definitely needs reapplication throughout the day. I guess its pretty much a very luxurious, nourishing lip balm so if you're a lady with dry lips (especially in the winter) but you don't want to give up the colour then this is the product for you!

Great moisturising lip colour

I really love how they have such a wide range of colours to suit everyone. They have quite a strong peppermint scent which i personally dont like, but I dont find that it doesn't last all day. They're moisturising and last long as a stain. I don't like the packaging because the cap tends to break and the colour of the packaging isn't the same as the actual product. The price, like everything else in NZ is quite high but I think it's worth it

Lovesick

I was out shopping for a long-lasting, bright pink lipstick when I came across Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick (#020). It's an intense fucshia pink that glides on easily and feels like a lip balm but looks like a lipstick!

The balm stain formula provides an even coverage and is moisturising (while the balm lasts) with a long-lasting colour stain. For me, it took about 4 hours for the balm to wear off completely, but the stain lasted all day (8-9 hours). The colour wasn't as intense after a few hours, but there was still a lot of colour on my lips.

The colour is easy to build up and the balm has a slight minty smell as it contains Peppermint Oil. Upon initial application, the balm does tingle slightly, but this wears off after a few minutes. If your lips do continue to tingle or they sting at all, remove the balm stain immediately, as Peppermint Oil can be an irritant to certain skin types.

The Balm Stain is packaged in a 2.7g retractable chubby crayon stick with a silver twistable base and the crayon doesn't require sharpening, although its best to limit the use of the tip to outlining the lips and using the sides to fill in the lips, as this will help to keep the point 'sharp' instead of it becoming rounded or flat.

The balm does bleed slightly into fine lines and wrinkles around the lips, so I'd recommend the use of a pencil lipliner if you're wanting a crisp, neat outline. If you don't have a matching lipliner, use a nude one (one that matches your natural lip colour) and blend the edges of the lipliner onto your lips with a cotton bud to prevent any harsh outlines.

I did find that any dry patches on my lips were accentuated by the stain. To prevent this, exfoliate your lips with a warm wash cloth or soft toothbrush before applying a small amount of lip serum or a tiny amount of eyecream onto the lips (to lightly moisturise them) before applying the balm stain.

Tips: If you feel that the colour is too intense for daywear (Lovesick is really bright), apply the balm stain to your lips and rub them together to work the product into the skin. Blot with a tissue before applying a clear gloss or lip balm over the top. The balm will still stain the lips and provide some colour with less intensity.

Just Bitten - Lovesick and Honey

These lip stains look a lot like chubby crayons. They have silver-colored base for protracting and retracting the lip stain. I have it in two shades - Lovesick Pasionnee and Honey. Lovesick is a bright pink color with a slight neon undertone. It can instantly brighten up your face. Honey is a warm mauve-pink shade which looks very flattering on the lips. The color on the outside of the tube gives an impression that it is a cool soft pink shade, but that's actually quite deceptive as the stain is a very unique pink-mauve shade which looks versatile and is extremely wearable.

The first thing that I noticed when I applied them on my lips is the pleasant mint like fragrance. However, it fades away soon. I so want the fragrance to stay a little bit longer.. Sigh!

They have a sheer glossy finish which feels extremely comfortable on the lips. But within an hour or so of application, the glossy sheen will wear off, leaving behind a strong hint of color (which can of course be built up as much as you like using multiple swipes) and it lasts for hours on end. The stain is quite long lasting on the lips and I am very impressed by that. However, my lips start to feel a little bit dry (nothing over the top) after few hours. I always apply a lip balm at that time or reapply the lip stain to renew the sheen and balmy feel on the lips. Its a kind of product that comes out very easily using any make up remover and I simply love that.

All in all, this product is a winner for me!

Tips: Like I said, lips start to feel dry after few hours of application, it is important to moisturize your lips before you apply this, or you might end up having flaky lips which might not look good. Been there, done that!
