Tips: Build, build, build for a mega opaque look!
These are lovely to apply, non-sticky, non shimmery with a good taste (a buttery vanilla rather than the off-putting somewhat cough syrup cherry scent of the mega glosses) but like all Nyx products finding a shade is the hard part as the names do not correctly fit the shades whatsoever and neither do the website descriptions - creme brulee turned out to be hot pink on me and tiramisu which is described as a nude brown translates as a vibrant neon peach based pink. If I could find a shade I would up this one point!
I've always used lip glosses and found the colour to be barely visible, but the colour in these is so pigmented you can actually see it on your lips! They smell good and are smooth meaning they are great to wear over lipstick.
Tips: I buy mine from beautyjoint.com
I LOVE NYX products. Especially the butter glosses. I really love the packaging of the product, and they really do smell of vanilla cupcakes! There is a wide range of colours and they are pigmented and rich in colour. I want all of them! In the US, they are a super cheap brand so retail over there for about $4 each. If you look in the right places in NZ, you can get them pretty cheap. I buy all of my NYX from the US.
Tips: BeautyJoint is where I buy most of my NYX lip products, the shipping is cheap and they work out to be around $5 NZ each lipgloss. I used to buy from trademe but they are at least $12 on there. Shop around :)
These smell like cake. I'm incredibly sensitive to smells in my lip products because once its there I can constantly smell it and these honestly smell good enough to eat. The actual glosses are pretty pigmented, so they're really nice just to use on their own if you want a softer colour. Used over similar lipsticks, they are incredible. Non-sticky and super lightweight on the lips these are easily my favourite glosses of all time, drugstore or high end. Theres a lot of beautiful neutrals, but for nudes I would suggest "Creme Brulee" if you're fair or "Tiramisu" if you're of a medium skin tone.
I love these Butter Glosses. I have them in Fortune Cookies, Peaches and Cream and Raspberry Tart. My favourite is the Raspberry Tart which is a purple gloss - it is not very opaque, but gives a good tint of purple. The texture is great and it feels buttery to the lips. Not-sticky and does not make me feel like I am wearing heaps on the lips. Plenty of colours to choose from. Great value.
Tips: The lighter colours can be a little streaky, but purse your lips a few times and that will solve it.
I purchased this particular colour after seeing a swatch from a beauty guru on youtube. Love it so much in many different ways, I definitely wish I'd ordered a few more at the same time.
Great colour pigmentation, and I didn't find it to be sticky on my lips like many other lip glosses are. Best of all, it actually lasted on my lips! I'm planning on purchasing the whole colour range, love them that much!!
I like these butter glosses very much. Creamy, non sticky, glossy, sweet smelling, good colour range. Only complaint, they don't last particularly well on the lips - but then again, what gloss does? I got the colour Cherry Cheesecake which is a lovely orange/peach colour - very wearable.
Tips: Shop around - they are cheaper overseas (I buy from Cherry Culture). Be warned - the name cherry cheesecake and the smell it may make you want to eat! :)
I LOVE the range of colours, the smells of them all, the packaging and of course the product! The glosses are pigmented, they last, they go on smoothly and evenly and are my must haves! I don't have much more to say other than you should go try them!
I have to say I haven't been absolutely blown away by these as I expected to be. I have purchased two so far. The good points are that they smell amazing, they are not sticky at all and have relatively good pigmentation for a gloss. I think they are sort of thick feeling on the lips though and maybe that is why I am not 100% sold on them at this point. I adore one of the colours I got (maple blondie) but feel the other (strawberry parfait) is sort of a weirdly coloured pink. I wouldn't wear the latter alone but it's nice over a lippy.
Tips: Wipe the applicator on the tube first and apply a couple of layers to build up colour.
