I was quite disappointed with this product from the first moment I put it on my face, it was too dark even though it was in the shade light and I don't consider myself to be very pale.
This is a very thick product, and it left my face feeling sticky thoughout the day, I found this to be very difficult to ignore as I could feel it sitting on my face even when I wasn't touching it with my fingers. I found that way is was packaged to be very easy to use due to its thick consistency and the squeezable tube, as I was able to get exactly the right amount that I wanted. It has quite a pleasant smell although after I had applied it to my face I could no longer smell it.
I have normal skin and this BB cream promised to give me a healthy glow, I found that instead it gave me a sheen that made me look oily/sweaty and unwell. I tried using the product in ways to prevent this instead of using just my fingers like I normally would with a BB cream. I used a foundation sponge (one similar to the beauty blender) this seemed to help stop some of the shine although it did give a more sheer finish. I also tried using powder which worked quite well, although my favorite thing about BB creams is that the are simple, they are something that I like chuck on for an easy everyday look and powder just complicates this simple process, this also helped to prevent some of the sticky feeling.
My Favorite BB cream is the Maybelline pure BB cream, compared to that the Garnier BB cream is just not worth the money, this is not a product I will be purchasing or even finishing.
OK so I have tried several BB creams, avon, maybelline you name it. And always fail to find one that matches my skin. I am pale, but boy oh boy does this cream blend well!
The consistency is just right, it is not too runny nor too thick so it is easily to control on your fingertips. It has a more 'yellow' tone than a 'pink' tone as do most foundations, but suits my skin perfectly.
As far as hiding imperfections it does the trick it even hid my freckles and highlighted my face more. When it first is applied it does have an almost dewy shiny finish however this does settle after a few minutes or so. For those with slightly oilier t-zones you may need to lightly go over the cream with a finishing powder.
It was great it lasted most of the day, and i only had to reapply around the eye area due to being exhausted this week. I will continue to use this in place of my daily foundation as I loved how light it felt on my skin. I've been suffering breakouts from other foundations and have been using this for a week now, and not so much as a pimple! It's ticking all the right boxes!
It is such a generously sized tube and will fit in most peoples hand bags. It doesn't have an over powering smell which is great as this reduces the chance of having skin reactions.
The product lives up to its claims, I think it truly is really knowing your skin type and getting the correct formulation for your skin to get the most out of this product. I love this cream it didn't dry out my skin and I felt hydrated throughout the day.
Tips: Make sure you are on an awesome skincare range and routine to be eligible to use BB creams. There's no point using a BB cream if you are paranoid about pimples as it wont quite give you the same amount of coverage as a concealer would. By having a great base to work with you set yourself up to have awesomely radiant skin thanks to Garnier! :)
Make sure you actually know your skin type rather than guessing, In New Zealand during winter months most skins are indeed dry however most people have a combination skin type. All four types of cream will have slightly different shades and consistencies so it's important to really consider getting to know your skin type. Your local beauty therapist can help with this, either by going in for a facial or most salons just literally do a skin analysis for like twenty bux including product application etc. So don't be afraid to ask questions regarding your skins texture and health ladies :)
