Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner Review

I initially purchased this liner to review it for my blog as I had heard so many people rave about the easy to apply formula and how it was a dupe for the MAC gel liner. Unfortunately, I personally was very disappointed. This product was so hyped up and to me, there's better, cheaper products out there. The formula was smooth when I initially used it, but it dried out so fast and became flaky. It's said to be smudge proof, but I found it transferring to my upper lid, which is something that I have never experienced before with a liner. Not impressed!

The first time i used this liner was when i was in high school and i am still using it many years later. Was looking for an alternative to liquid liner as it was quite messy at times and was quite scared of gel but from the first time i tried it, i loved! Goes on smoothly, has great pigmentation, doesn't smudge and lasts all day, even with my oily eye lids. I have tried a couple of gel liners but i keep going back to this one cause it's the best!

i bought this fel eyeline from the pharmacy in my local mall as i had heard the maybeline one was the best.THere are so many on the market which is why i done my research first.I Was surprised how easy it was to use as my upper lash line edge is abit creapy as i am 47 years old with a few lines on my eyelids.it went across my lashline so easy with a angled brush,the product was creamy and very good quality.the packaging was as most come (a small jar) and easy to pop into your bag if u take it out with you.after 4 hours of wear,i thought when i looked in the mirror i would have alot of black under my eyes.I WAS WRONG.IT HAD NOT SMUDGED.and was still on.my lashline.i would recomend to others.

This is the one and only gel liner that I have ever tried and I think it's safe to say I'm going to be looking no further!

I love how you can use it in numerous ways to create different looks, smudge it like a kohl for a wicked smokey-eye or apply with precision for a beautiful cat-eye.

I do like the little brush that came with it, so I tend to use that to apply it and I set the liner with a black eyeshadow for staying power. On the few nights I haven't taken my make-up off before going to bed (super bad of me, I know ... but sooooo tired!) I've still woken up with the liner still in place as I had applied it.

With this product I've been converted from liquid to gel FOR LIFE.

I'm really torn with this particular product. It has so much potential, and that is exactly why I bought it to begin with. I needed more flexibility to draw my liner, and my liquid liner is a bit too thick for that.

It really is a beautiful black, and it does come with a good brush that allows you to do whatever you like. However that's where it ends.

Mine must've had a manufacture error? I doubt it because I've read plenty of other reviews that had the same issue.

It dries up VERY QUICKLY. And once that happens, we all know flaking comes next. It is really annoying because it's not like you left it open over night, it's literally the few minutes you have it open while using it.

I've learnt to blend it with a little bit of makeup remover so it goes on smoother (tiny bit of remover makes it less dry).

I wish and hope they fix it, because I doubt I would ever buy it again!

I was very disappointed in the this product after hearing so many good things about it. To begin with it would go on very patchy and it dried up very quickly for me despite always keeping it sealed tightly. I am yet to find my holy Grail eyeliner product. The idea of this product is great so I'm sure if mine hadn't dried out so fast i would have liked it.

I love this product.

It is simple, even for someone like me. Easy to apply, makes your eyes pop when you have it on & lasts all day long.

My lids are quite oily and if I put any sort of product it tends to come off in the first half hour. This product lasted me from the morning to the end of the day

Yes! I love this gel liner! I think it glides on really easily and has a beautiful smooth texture, I have it in black and it is nice and dark. It lasts a really really long time, I've never needed to reapply.

It comes in a small wee pot but don't let this deceive you, it goes a really long way so the amount is plenty!

It comes with it's own eyeliner brush but I found it too thick so I use my own thin angled eyeliner brush.

The only real con I can think of is that it is water resistant and sticks on like nothing else so you need a good makeup remover and brush cleaner!

I am usually a liquid girl, but every now and then I go back to gel and this is always the one I go for! It's nice a small so easy to store (I even have double ups!) and it glides on so nicely! I like how this is build-able but is so pigmented on its own anyway. I have had both my pottles for the longest time and they never seem to go down! A little goes a long way with this product for sure!

I also have this is in brown and sometimes with a light hand use it for my eye brows- as a dupe for ABH Dip brow ;)
