What is it?

Highly pigmented lips are the look of the moment, and this lip cream takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.

Time for a change from gloss! It applies creamy, lasts all day and finishes with a soft suede look.A matte lip cream that moves with your lips so you don’t have to worry about caking and flaking.

Australis Velourlips Matte Cream

I had this in hon a lou lou, I found the colour very intence/pigmented. But still nice, the texture was a little difficult though as it was such a powerful colour if your a little heavy handed you may be in for some trouble as the colour doesnt budge, so you need to get it right the first time other wise your in for a colourful shock. I paid around $16 from farmers for mine. The item looks nice, smells nice but just a wee bit off in the consistency.

Super opaque long lasting colour!

I purchased the shade ny-cee to wear to a wedding as I was looking for long wearing colour that would stand up to all the food, drink and talking involved over a full day.

It definitely lived up to its promise the colour didn't move all night long! With the exception of some wearing on the inside of my lip but to be fair I ate a full meal and had a few drink and I was really impressed with the staying power.

I found application a little difficult as the colour was very intense and once it was on it was hard to remove so you do need to be careful to ensure a smooth application.

The one downside is the product is very drying so it's important to make sure your have really moisturised lips before application.

Overall I would recommend this product if you are looking for a bold colour that will last all night long. It's great bit having to worry a touching up your lippy all night long!!

Shang - Hi!

I bought this baby from Farmers along with the AC contour kit and got a free primer (yay!) So was so happy and expecting good things from the product when I bought it!

I bought one of the new shades, a bright dark pink (if that makes sense...). I fell in love with the shade as soon as I saw it and I knew that I absolutely had to buy it. I did not try the shade on so hoped that It suited my medium-olive skin and im so glad because it does!

The packaging is lovely - simple but looks nice on your dresser. The colour that you see in the tube truly reflects what colour you get when its on your lips. The formula is so extremely pigmented which is incredible, but you have to be careful to not make mistakes as you will need a good makeup remover to fix mistakes. The shade goes on so smoothly and nicely it feels like you're rubbing butter against your lips! The product has a slight cherry scent which I dont mind although cherry was never my fave scent so could be a bit biased right now haha. But the scent goes away when on your lips and does not irritate at all.

The thing i love about the product is the price point. $17.50 for a nice matte lippy isnt bad at all. I just wish they had more shades that suited my skin tone but I love the crazy shades they have - hope I get more confident to wear them!

Matte cream virgin

I purchased this in the colour MA-LI-BOO after hearing all the hype and wanting a bold bright colour for summer and it definitely doesn't fall short in the colour pay off area it definitely turns heads. This is the only matte cream I have tried to date so I can't compare with similar products but I'm absolutely a fan of this one. The doe foot applicator is the perfect tool to get the perfect finish and once dried it is non transferable and doesn't budge apart from however with liquid which I quickly learnt to avoid by using a straw I don't find it too much of a sacrifice because it lasts all night with no touch ups. I will absolutely be purchasing more colours and definitely recommend for a fun addition to any make up collection.

Very intense colours!

I think the formula of this product is very good and doesn't crack on my lips however the colours are not very nice and I find are too intense. I purchased the colour HO-CHE-MIN and although the consistancy looked good the colour was awful and not what I was expecting! If it wasn't for the crazy colours I would absolutely love this as it smells amazing too.

Tips: Great if you like intense, vibrant lips!

Not quite for me

I'm perfectly happy with the formula for these products but I wasn't a major fan of the colours that I have - they just weren't very wearable with my skin tone. These were free with a magazine though, so if I was to repurchase them I would take a better look at colour options.

I love the colour selection

First of all I have to say I love the names they have for these. Very quirky. Now the colours. They are popping. Very very bright. Very very cool. These lippys can be rather drying but I do find they last. The only issue I have found is when you have been eating, it rubs off on the inside of the lips. Very frustrating but not the end of the world. I would recommend these products purly on the colours available. But they may not be suitable if you are prone to getting dry lips.

Tips: Apply some lip balm to your lips while you are applying your makeup then when wipe it off prior to applying this lippy

Falls over at the last hurdle

There's no doubt these products are the best thing since sliced bread when you first put them on your gob but as you try and rock your perfect purple pout for the rest of the day this is where you find the products fall a little short of your mile high expectations. I know these are matte lip creams but I find the formula a little too drying especially given, now wait for it, they do come off during the day! More annoyingly is that you need to take your whole application off as touch ups aren't possible with this product as it flakes off. I have so much praise for this product if you are wearing it for a shortish amount of time and don't plan on eating or drinking but I struggle to find occasions to wear this due to th rigmoral required to reapply. If you want something still drugstore priced but legitimately budge proof I would pick the Rimmel Provocalips over this.

Tips: Do not apply this on dry lips, it settles into the cracks and crevices of your lips and will exaggerate any dryness. Exfoliating your lips beforehand is a good idea =]

Take make up wipes with you if you plan on wearing all day as you can't touch this up without reapplying from scratch.

Oily foods are this products kryptonite, avoid avoid avoid!

Current fav lip product

I am so obsessed with these Velourlips at the moment, they are my go-to basically every weekend now! I have Pa-ree and the bright red one (the name escapes me right now, is it Ny-cee?) anyway, they are an amazing affordable lip product with great staying power. The colours are gorgeous and pigmented and you get a lot of product. I have the Lime Crime velventines and to be honest while I love my Velventines, I think I prefer the Velourlips because they have a creamier consistency rather than a watery consistency which I find makes it sooooo much easier to apply neatly. I dont have a negative thing to say about them! Now I just have to work on expanding my collection of them!

Better Than Lime Crime?

I recently broke my no-spend (oops!) and decided to purchase this in the shade Par-ee after the whole hype over Kylie Jenner has died down somewhat and it was actually in stock!

You get about as much, if not slightly more product in a tube than our trusty old Velvetines.. I'm not sure if I should be comparative but I think I'll make an exception to be on this review. It's half the price, so what makes the Velvetine better than the Velourlips?

The packaging: Not quite as cute, but it does the job and it doesn't look cheap. The wand is about the same size as the Velvetine, but it holds more product. Something I like more because with the Velvetine I never have enough product on my wand.

Formula: Velourlips are sticky, but not gloss sticky. It's something I don't particularly like because I'm not a lipgloss fan. They do dry matte though. They smell quite nice, like tutti-fruity.

Drying & Lasting Power: It dries faster than the Velvetines, and I find that the lasting power is longer when eating or drinking. It also doesn't make little rumples like the Velvetines do, so you can touch it up too.

Which one would I rather buy? For the price & functionality - definitely the Australis. But for the splurge, cuteness factor I'd buy LC. To be honest though, Australis does have more colours and they're more appealing to me than the Lime Crime ones.

Tips: Apply from the middle of your lips outwards to avoid having too much product in the corners of your lips. PS. It's an almost exact dupe for MAC Honeylove, just in liquid form.
