Not the best sponge I've ever used

Thanks to BR for this product. I've tried a couple of brands of sponges (blank canvas cosmetics and real techniques) so I'm comparing this one to them.

This sponge is a different shape...not an egg or teardrop...more of an oral ball with a slice taken off its top. It's soft but firm. Nice tiny sponge pores.

Do I like this sponge? Yes but no. When you wet it and dab it to apply foundation, it's a bit violent, by way that it's like you tapping your face with your fingers. It's not soft sponge like the RT sponge (which is definitely my favourite sponge)...it's firm like the BCC sponge. Therefore I haven't been using it with a bouncing motion, I have been using it in swiping/spreading motions. This gives a nice lite coverage like I like, and been enjoying it with my matte mousse foundation. Love it.

Tips: Try the swiping/spreading motion with a velvety mousse foundation.

Great for a backup

purchased this as I needed a quick replacement, however after 1 week of use it already had a split in it, which put me in a sour note. It blends well but soaks up A LOT of product dry and wet use. the shape of the sponge is really nice, just a shame that the sponge itself doesn't rate well.

Tips: use for powder dusting

For the price, it definitely worth it!

I used this sponge wet and dry on different days.

first lets start out with using it wet, like my current beauty blender it creates a more dewy finish and a bit less coverage but still does an awesome job with applying foundation. I also used the fact side for baking, this was effect because it is wet the powder stayed on the sponge nicely and i could really get the product on my skin. it blended out my cream contour nicely. The one thing I don’t really like about this pro cut is the shape, there are ups and downs about the shape, I like it because of the flat side it is easy for baking and also smoothing out foundation but there is no pointy end on the sponge to get into small spaces like the corner of your nose or right under your eye, this is a small minor problem, nothing to stop you from getting this cheap version of a beauty blender.

the next day I used the sponge dry. personally I liked the way the sponge performed when it was wet more then dry, I felt like the sponge was softer and the outcome was a lot more less harsh and intense, it’s completely up to if you like loads of coverage or just medium coverage. baking was a little harder as the powder wouldn’t really stick to the sponge because it was dry, it blended cream contour fine.

Overall I really liked this product and for the price it is definitely worth a try :)

Tips: For a more dewy finish wet the sponge with water first and squeeze out the excess water. For a more full coverage finish keep the sponge dry :)

Not a game changer..

So, I have to admit, I've yet to find a make up sponge that I like. I love Natio liquid foundations and bb creams, and this sponge, like most others I've tried, sucks up a lot of product. I get a lot more coverage out of a little product by using my hands. I found the sponge left some 'cakey' looking areas when trying to add more coverage to blemishes. I will continue to try it out though, as I don't have a lot of experience using sponges. One thing I will give this sponge is that it is very easy to clean, a little warm water and soap does the trick well. Not a terrible product, but not a game changer for me.

Firm and so soft!

Comparing this sponge to others I've used, I love it! The main difference is it's nice and firm, I feel like you don't lose as much product in it compared to less dense sponges. Also being super soft is ideal and so nice on the skin.

Tips: I definitely only use it damp, I find it makes a massive difference to making foundation look more blended and less cakey. A make up must to complete any look.

Flawless and Spongy

I got this sponge as a GWP with a BBBE. I'm always up for something new, so I couldn't wait to try it. I usually use sea sponges or brushes so I was interested in making a comparison.

It is a pretty pink and egg shaped with a flat side for applying the product. Since I've tried and fallen in love with Za CC cream, that goes on first, applied with the flat end of the sponge, (after moisturiser and some Elizabeth Arden oil) then Dove tinted moisturiser (which is quite thick) also with the application end of the sponge. Then I roll the sponge over it, as per the instructions, to smooth and blend it.

I have to say, I'm very happy with the results. My skin looks smooth and even afterwards.

I've only been using it dry so far as I've had no reason to change, but will try it wet also eventually just to see what it does.

I tried washing it but the tinted moisturiser stain stays on it. That doesn't bother me too much, but if anyone has a way to get it perfectly clean, then I'd be happy to try that.

I'd certainly recommend it to friends to try.

Works like a dream

The sponge does feel much harder and more solid than other makeup sponges but once its wet its more soft and easier to use. I think that because its that bit more solid it doesn't tend to soak up and waste more product than the competitors and I prefer using it wet but dry also works well. It blends out my concealer perfectly and with the flat edge that makes it easier to get around my eyes and nose. I put foundation directly on my face and then blended by pouncing it into the skin and didn't leave any streaks or uneven patches and works as well with thick and thinner foundations equally. I will definitely continue to use this product.

Tips: If you wet the sponge it gives you more of a lighter look versus if you leave it dry, you'll achieve a heavier look.

Better when dry

I'm admittedly not much of an every day foundation-user, but when I do cake it up, I always reach for a blending sponge to evenly distribute my liquid foundation over my face.

To start off, this sponge has a flat top while the rest of its body is round. I actually like how they designed it because the flat top makes it easier to reach inner corners such as the space between the under eye and nose or around the lip area. It's actually firmer than it looks, harder than my beauty blender, but not as solid as the ones I own from aliexpress.

I had high hopes for this flawless complexion sponge. I first used it last Friday for a wedding, making sure I wet the sponge and drained it until it was the right kind of damp (only because this is how I usually use my makeup blenders). Wrong move. As soon as I started applying and dabbing it all over my face, it looked so patchy. I had to keep going over spots so they were properly blended out - it took me twice as long as I usually would with other blenders. I was so disappointed.

Next few times I used it damp again hoping it was just a one off time, that maybe I just wasn't using it correctly, but obviously the same result occurred. Then dumb little ol' me realised that if I wanted more coverage, I needed to use it while dry! I usually try not to because you all know most, if not all, beauty gurus recommend to dampen the sponge. So when I finally tried it dry... whaddya know? It was flawless! Even quicker in blending than the application I do for other blenders. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes.

At the end of the day I think it does a pretty decent job in providing coverage when used dry. However, I would still opt for my beauty blender over this because when using this dry although it did make my face look flawless, up close you can faintly see dry patches on my face, particularly my nose, which is strange for me since I've got normal combo-oily skin. I would not purchase this on my own.

Tips: use when dry but make sure your skin is properly primed and/or moisturised beforehand.

Not so flawless.

Unfortunately this make up sponge was a miss for me. The design of the sponge was not my favourite with it being quite firm and the top of the sponge is an awkward shape. I prefer a more angled top or side so I can comfortably sweep my foundation across or down my cheek and then blend. I also like to have a narrower end to get into smaller areas of my face but I cannot do this. I ended up having to almost dub it on then try to quickly blend it out with the flat end. I find my foundation never looks quite as flawless as the sponge seems to absorbs a lot of product more so than other sponge I have used. No I do not recommend this.

Best sponge I've found!

I was pretty excited to try this because my well-worn Kmart blending sponge definitely is past its prime.

When used properly (damp) it is very dense and springy, and I found that it didn't soak up much product at all, which is a plus. I used this sponge to both apply and blend my liquid foundations - normally I have to apply it with my fingers as my other sponges and foundation brushes soak up too much of it - and to blend out my cream concealer and contour.

It expands to about double the original size, and retains its soft bounciness whist damp. I didn't really follow the instructions on the packaging for application, but the angled side was perfect for applying product around my nose and under the eyes. I think the shape overall makes the sponge useful for the entire face.

I used this for my dance competition on the weekend and it definitely helped the makeup process go smoothly.

Tips: Use damp!
