CeraVe Blemish Control Gel

My teenagers have also used it as a spot treatment for about 10 days on their acne and has reduced the spots a lot quicker. Also commented how much smoother their skin feels. Would highly recommend

Great cleanser for sensitive skin

I have really enjoyed using this cleanser, it's fragrance free so good for those who have sensitive skin, it lathers nicely to clean off my makeup, and, the pump is easy to use and doesn't feel flimsy. After I cleanse my face, I'll wipe my face with toner and I noticed that there was very little make-up left on my face. I usually use two pumps for my whole face + neck and decolletage. The cleanser is quite thick but with a bit of water it lathers up quite nicely. I haven't noticed much difference with my blackheads but I can say that I haven't had any new breakouts. I would be very happy to repurchase this!

Skin still feels soft

I have always used acne-control cleaners - I'm in my early 30s and battle hormonal acne on my chin. Prior to this I had been using the La Roche Posay Effaclar range. I found this cleanser fairly plain, which is good, but it did have a slightly off-putting 'pharmaceutical' smell (wasn't totally scent-free). However the main thing I have noticed is how soft my skin is, which I haven't found before with acne cleansers as they usually leave my skin quite dry and peeling. I did still get a giant spot on my forehead while using it, but didn't experience any chin acne. All in all I would use this again depending on the retail price.

Tips: It lathers up well so you don't need a lot!

Not just for acne prone skin

Thanks BR for the opportunity to trial this cleanser. I have never used anything from CeraVe before but had heard amazing things about a few of their ranges. This product arrived at the right time as I was breaking out a lot. Like all CeraVe cleansers it comes in a plastic rectangular container with a pump. The shape works well as it doesn’t take up too much room on my shower shelf and the pump makes it easy to dispense without making a mess. The product itself is a white gel like texture and foams just enough to make your skin feel clean without drying it out. While I haven’t noticed a huge decrease in oil production it does leave my skin looking smooth and I have thoroughly enjoyed using this cleanser. It is definitely the best cleanser I have tried at this price point . I would definitely recommend this cleanser to anyone with oily , acne prone or combination skin.

CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser

This is the third CeraVe cleanser I have used (the SA Smoothing Cleanser and the Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser being the others) and I would say this is probably my second preferred from the three.

This cleanser is a clear gel formula, which lightly foams when applied to the face, its gentle and does a fine job of cleansing the skin without drying and is gentle for a product specifically for blemishes, but I didn't see a reduction in breakouts and blemishes whilst using it.

The thing I love about the CeraVe cleansers, is the bottle is bigger than most at 236ml so it lasts a really decent amount of time and is great value for the price, and they have a pump which is convenient for applying.

Overall, it is a fine cleanser, and I will continue to use it until it's all gone, but for my skin, I prefer the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser and will re-purchase that once this one is used up :)

Taking back Control of Breakouts

I found the CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser is easy to incorporate into my morning routine. It comes in a 236ml pump action bottle. The Cleanser comes out as a gel but quickly turns into a soap and is easy to create a lather once massaged into my face. It doesnt have a scent and is easy to rinse off. My 13 year old son also tried this as he has started having breakouts - he found it did work and made his face feel less oily and more fresh. My son and I used this for a little over a week and we did find the breakouts were more controlled and less angry looking. It made our skin feel fresh and clean and did appear to prevent breakouts. My son preferred the gel as it was easier to apply however would be happy to use the Cleanser in the shower.

cerave Blemish control

first I have to say I don't like cleansers where you wash your face I use ones that use a cotton ball or pad so was hard to get into using but we got there. I have sensitive skin and get allergic reactions to lots of products but none with this so a bonus my skin felt nice and soft and clean after use unfortunately this arrived whilst I had no acne so can't review how it worked for that. no strong smells or irritation liked that. I have quite oily skin and this helped it feel less oily... I would use again probably not daily but a couple of times a week or if I have a breakout don't need much so we'll worth the money as it'll last

Tips: you don't need much to wash with so be mindful when getting out I used way to much the first couple of times

Maybe it get's better the longer you use it?

I was excited to try CeraVe - having never used this brand before. I was particularly excited to try this Blemish Control Cleanser as I still have acne into my thirties and keen to be rid of it!

The decently sized 236ml white pump bottle comes in white cardboard packaging, which is rather minimalist except for all the text repeated in multiple langues. The bottle is relatively square, so easy to store. The pump works well and can be locked closed for convenience when travelling.

The cleanser is clear with a think almost sticky consistency, until applied to a damp face. One pump is plenty. The product foams up as expected and is easily applied to the face before being rinsed off. I didn't notice any distinguishable fragrance.

I did find it gave me some uncomfortable tingling around the edges of my nose and mouth for a few seconds, but no noticeable redness. I was also a little concerned by the many warnings about not getting this product in your eyes. I would normally wash my face in the shower and usually use a gentle natural cleanser so would normally wash my eye lids too.

After 2 weeks of use I noticed a very slight improvement to my blemishes, but then again most of their claims are based on 4+ weeks of use so maybe my skin will improve even more over time. Will have to wait and see!

One last thing that was frustrating was the lack or information regarding what to use in conjunction with this product other than the blemish control gel. Should I be using toner? Moisturiser? Where in the routine do these fit? Blemish Control Gel should be used in the evening only so should I use toner and moisturiser in the morning and just the gel at night? Normally products mention the rest of the routine to get the best results but this range lacks this information.

Just ok

The best thing about this was that it made my skin (and hands!) feel really soft. Slight decrease in shine during the day. But I noticed a lot of tiny clogged pores that I never get. So it's a 50/50 for me.

Tips: Suggest trying to see if it suits your skin.

A bit drying

I definitely have acne-prone, blemish-prone skin and I normally use water in the morning then a double or triple cleanse at night. I like the pump dispenser which makes it good for everyday home use but would not be great for travelling. It pumps out as a clear gel which foams up easily.

Sadly, I found it's a little too drying for me. I genuinely feel this would be a superior option for those with particularly oily skin but for those with more combo oily skin like myself, I'm afraid it might be overkill.
