Tips: Don't reccomend for scentive skin
The packaging is misleading, it insinuates that apricot kernel is the exfoliator, when really it is walnut shells. This product exfoliates very well, but it can be too well. It is not so good for delicate skin and I only used it if I had a very flaky patch which I needed to get rid of. After a month or two, I noticed a bad smell when using it, like mould or fermentation, and I had to throw it out.
I like the smell and it feels good when I apply it, but it wasn't as good as I had heard it to be (well with my skin anyway), it actually done very little for me. But still smells great :)
I used to live by this scrub, the affordability crossed with its quality is always a win win situation. Unfortunatley I did recently find out that they still test on animals vigorously, which makes me regret my recent purchases...
This product is quite harsh on the skin feeling like sandpaper however it does remove the dead skin really well. If you have pimples or sores on the face may not be a good product as it can open up the sores and irritate your face and does dry your face out.
Tips: Use very small mounts and use with caution of you have pimples or sores on the face.
I'm not a fan of this scrub. The exfoliants seem really scratchy on my skin and I didn't like the smell of it, It also didn't seem to be actually cleansing very well either. So wouldn't buy again. But I do like some of the other St Ives range of products.
This scrub does exfoliate. I'll give it that. I used it for years once or twice a week and it helps to smooth your skin. But the grains it uses to exfoliate are crushed apricot pits which are tiny but can be quite sharp and jagged. You don't feel it when you're using them but it can cause "micro-tears" in the surface of your skin and in the long run isn't great for you! I found this out after reading about the scrub once I noticed it wasn't doing anything about my redness on my face... in fact it was making it worse, and that's why!
I found this facial scrub quite un-impressive, it was almost like a scrub that you could make at home. It didn't leave my skin 'radiant' but the beads did exfoliate well enough. I have quite sensitive skin so this product could not be used daily (even though it said it could be used daily on the packaging) it made my skin feel stretched and dry.. not ideal.. However, that being said, if this scrub is used once every few days it could well serve its purpose well.
Tips: If you have quite sensitive skin i would recommend the Neutrogena facial scrub with sea salt. Its in a purple tube and is my favorite!
Sadly this product makes me break out! I love the exfoliation factor but something in it reacts badly. I use a face clothe but find the beads stick around. In saying all this its good value for the money you pay.a little goes a long way!!
Tips: Rinse very very veerry well!
I have quite sensitive skin so usually stay away from supermarket brand skincare, however after a friend recommended this to me I though I would give it a go!
Personally, I found this a little harsh and quite 'gritty' for the face. HOWEVER, I love it as a body scrub! Also if you have dry skin which is not sensitive this would probably be great for the face.
The smell is perfectly pleasant and it IS a refreshing scent for the morning so I liked that aspect a lot. You do get good bang for your buck too! A good amount of product for a great price!
Tips: Use warm water to rinse for sure - I like to use cold water in the morning but I found this needed warm to remove all the product.
