I'm not a big fan of the OPI range. I dont find it lasts as long on my nails as other brands I have used and I don't find it as easy to use - I always end up making a big mess. The polishes do last longer in the bottles than other brands that tend to dry up which is good, and OPI have a fantastic range of colours. I wish I liked the formula as much as others do, but I just don't :/

OPI Nail Lacquer Review
Reviews
This nail polish is the perfect colour but it took so long to dry and it chippeed the next day- Classic look just needs a bit of prep before applying :(
Tips: dip your fingers in cold water before applying and use 3 coats
This is my opinion, but I do feel that OPI is over rated. One bottle is $18+ (in NZ) and the nail polish is no better than L’Oreal nail polishes. Yes the color selection is nice and the bottle fits nicely in the hand, but the polish lasts no longer that my L'oreal ones or even cheaper brands.
I do love the gold crackle effect polish though.
Beautiful colour. Really bright and fresh and exactly what I want in a white nail polish. But sadly I find that it comes off within only an hour it starts chipping (not a nail biter) just doing everyday things made it come off. Didn't even last a day
I own 8 different OPI shades plus one top coat and they are all the same, such poor quality, streaky and chips like nothing else.
This is such a sort after brand that I'm not sure why I have such a hard time with this nail polish. I love the colours but that is as far as it goes I don't recommend this product to any of my friends as I just do not think it is worth the price here in NZ.
The reason why I have so many colours is I always think mm maybe I got a bad batch and the different shades may work better than others but in my experience they are all just the same. I've tried everything to make this product work for me but sadly nothing works. I find the $1.99 Sinful Colors Nail Polish to be better quality and actually lasts on my nails.
I guess I'm the only one that feels this way about OPI, I feel kind of bad :(
I find this product doesn't live up to the hype. There is an extensive range with many amazing unique colours but the actual quality Iets me down. After hours of applying it starts to chip of my nails which I hate! I have many other brands that don't chip half as much/fast as this brand does. It is rather pricy and I find I can find better polishes for much cheaper. I also find the longer you have the product the worse it gets. Mine always end up gloopy and hard to apply which is a let down when you pay so much for a product. I do think aspects of the polish are great! But more me I am always let down with the way my nails look when using OPI.
There not many OPI colours that I don't like. But this one unfortunately seemed to under perform.
To be able to use it on its own you really need to layer it up and even then its still not very noticeable. I only use this as a sheen over other colour when I'm wanting a different effect.
The wear on it is still good but wouldn't recommend this one unless you are wanting it for a cover coat of another colour.
In my personal opinion I don’t think O.P.I. is worth what they ask for. You’d expect real quality and durability for the price range.
I have “We Seafood and Eat It” which is a fun name but I don’t really understand it as the colour is a pale red. Maybe I’m missing something. It’s a nice shade in any case and the bottle is a good 15ml so would last a long time.
The problem I have with this nail polish is that it’s so fragile. I always apply a base coat, 2-3 coats of colour (after allowing them all to dry), and then a top coat. Most of the products I have, for example Essie, or even $2 shop nail polishes, last for days, but I’ve found consistently that O.P.I. lasts a few hours before chipping or fading at the edges.
This product was a gift, but I would never purchase.
OPI gets so much hype, and every single girl I know raves about these. Except maybe me.
I always cringe when ladies tell me that they pay almost $26 for a bottle of nail polish. Call me cheap but there are many things I could put that money towards instead of spending it all on ONE bottle of nail polish.
My experience with these babies, hasn’t been the greatest either. I have about 10 bottles, purchased from the ASB show ground sales of course (they are almost 60% off the retail price) and I’ve found them all to be very short lasting, and chip really easily. I’m wondering if that has anything to do with the fact that I purchased them from the show grounds? Maybe they are expired ones? I’m not too sure.
I’m not one to take time in applying base coat and top coats, which I have heard from different people, either makes the polish easier to chip, or makes it last longer. Two very different opinions.
I do adore the range of colours available. There is SOO many and they keep it very fresh and interesting, but bringing out a new range every couple or so months. I usually use the OPI colours as a template and try to find the same but from a different brand, which sometimes - more often than not - proves to be difficult. OPI definitely produces the widest and best range of colours. However as I mentioned above, I would rather survive not having the colour, or having something similar, than paying 25 dollars for a bottle. That, to me seems ridiculous.
On a side note - A really good nail polish brand that I love and use is LA Girl. They are available in a wide variety of colours, shades, and collections. Also cheap and long lasting.
I bought OPI because the brand recognition and everyone raves about it along with other reason like I loved the size of the bottle, the range of colours were awesome. But I just didn't love it. I bought it in 'Oh to be 25 again' which is like a red wine dark red colour (my favourite nail polish colour) and I found it wore off really quickly. I would notice after about 2 days that the ends would be faded already and as the colour is so dark it was really noticeable. So unfortunately this one experience has put me off buying OPI again.
