Sensitive eyes = no go

I bought this after hearing all the hype and at first i loved it until it got into my eyes and stung. i found the actual solution didn't remove my foundation (maybelline super stay) very well and i ended up just using a make up wipe after. i would recommend it to people who don't have such sensitive eyes and don't wear glasses. it made my eyes very foggy once i put my glasses back on.

Tips: don't soak the cotton pad too much!

Didnt Agree With My Skin :/

I've read a few reviews on this and everyone raved about it! Sure It did what it claimed, it removed all of my makeup without a lot of rubbing/effort but I wasn't a huge fan come the next morning!

I've been using the Bioderma Micelle Solution for the past few years and I love it! So when I heard people saying the Garnier version was a good dupe, for half the price I had to try it!

I was totally drawn in by the packaging, it looks great! And like I said it did remove my makeup so first impressions I was impressed!

But the next day, my skin was extra dry! My chin and under my eyes were burning and were all flaky. I do have extremely sensitive skin and I guess this product was just one of the one's that didn't agree with my skin.

I can see why a lot of people like this product it definitely does what it claims. I know everyone's skin is different, but if you have sensitive skin perhaps don't smother your face with this the first time you use it :)

A bit harsh on my skin

I used this to remove my make up and while it did an alright job, there was still a bit of residue. When I got to my waterproof mascara, it did come off eventually, but it took a while and a bit of rubbing and by the end of it all, my skin, especially my eye area, stung a bit. I will continue to use the rest of the bottle, not as a make up remover, but just as a quick cleanser on days I wear no make up and can't be bothered cleansing properly, but I won't be repurchasing.

Wasn't for me

Everybody raved about this product but when I tried it I found it was actually really drying on my skin even though I moistured afterwards and I also found my skin started to break out after a week of using it, so I stopped when I did use it though I found it was pretty good at removing make up etc a lot of ladies swear by this product but I personally didn't like it

Not too sure about this product...

After using the Garner Micellar cleansing water I only ever broke out in pimples. Maybe this was because it was drawing all the dirt out of my pores or maybe it was because it simply didn't suit my skin. I would only be able to tell after using it for longer.

This is NOT a cleanser!

Micellar water may be a 'miraculous' product, but I want to start out by making it clear that it's not a cleanser. It does a damn good job of removing makeup (although, I find it can't budge waterproof mascara, or a long-staying one like Benefit's They're Real). That being said, because it's essentially a soap suspended in water, it leaves a film all over your face, so you still need to clean your face afterwards. I use this on a cotton pad as a once-over before using a cleanser proper. The one thing I can say is amazing about it is how long a bottle lasts!

Tips: Use a second cleanser afterwards. Your skin will thank you for it!

It's ok as a first cleanse

The bottle is decently sturdy, with a standard flick-open cap and good opening. It doesn't smell the best, pretty chemical-y (no fragrance in the one I purchased) , but it has a standard loose micellar water texture. It doesn't feel greasy, but I would suggest that it's not a great make-up remover if you wear either a decent medium-full coverage foundation, any long wear lipstick, or any sort of mascara.

My method of use involved soaking a cotton pad in the product and alternating between holding the pad still for 5-10 seconds (e.g. over my eyes to try and remove mascara), or sweeping gently but firmly across my face. I was never able to fully remove my full makeup with this product, even trying multiple passes with freshly soaked cotton pads was not enough to remove the foundation and primer from my pores, or the mascara from my lashes. Only if I followed up with a second cleanse did I feel like I'd cleaned my makeup off properly. When I only wore powder or light cover foundation/BB cream, it was OK, and seemed to do the job.

After a while it did begin to irritate my skin, so it's shelved for the time being. If I have friends who don't wear much makeup and don't have sensitive skin, I can see them finding this helpful as a single step makeup remover.

A lovely product but, sorry, not for me

I bought this , pleased to find a lovely simple looking product that proised it would clean and nourish in one wipe. And yes it did remove my make-up very efficiently and leave my skin feeling soft. Looks like ordinary water but the feel (between fingers) is so soft with those micro additions of oils. But, this wimp, just does not like cold applications to her face - will need to stick with the longer routine of cleansing cream , warmed in my hand, removed with a warm wet flannel and then followed with a night cream.

Was lucky enough to go on holiday and grab some of this, its been over there a while but was a little difficult to find guess as there is still some hype over there.

Yes it's very effective at cleansing for a water like product with miminal ingredients I just feel it still leaves traces of make up and grime my usual cleanser doesnt ( 10 0 6 gentle daily cleaner).

It was always going to be an impossible task to get me off the gentle version of the 10 0 6 I have to admitt. But it would definitely come second.

What I do like is the massive bottle and price you can use as much as required without worrying about your wallet. Also the smell and feel if you didn't know you would think its water.

Well done Garnier its a fabulous product I just have a more effective aha product that suits me a little better.

Mi-favourite...?

I was very much on the 'are you sure?' side of the fence when I first heard about Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water. I think it's because it's called 'water' - and while water is fabulous, it's not really all that wonderful at getting off hardcore makeup, or even lightcore makeup. So of course, the first thing I did when I received my trial bottle was to look at the ingredients, there's a lot more than just water in the bottle. I've no idea what most of it is, (and I'm too busy/lazy to Google it), but I did recognise a few ingredients, which I've seen in other cleansing products, which explains why it's so darn good at removing makeup.

So, what side of the fence am I having now trialled it for a week or so? I'm on the fence. I'm having a love/hate relationship with this product.

What do I love? I love the bottle - it's a generous 400mls, and it's really pretty. I love the pink cap. I love that it's not super smelly, there is a hint of chemical aroma, but nothing off-putting. I love that it does an amazing job of removing makeup. I was seriously impressed. Although to remove a full face I had to use both sides of three cotton pads, which used a lot of product (which is why I'm guessing the bottle is such a good size). I love that my skin didn't feel tight afterwards.

So what do I hate? Well, it's great at removing makeup, but it's not great for my skin. Initially I only used the Micellar Water to cleanse in the evenings, but I noticed over the days my pores became larger and I started getting little whiteheads on my forehead/nose/chin, which I'm not usually prone too. Also my skin started to feel rough, and not nearly as hydrated as normal. The last few days I've used it as a pre-cleanse to remove makeup, then used my usual cleanser, which has seen some improvement to pimple production, but not to the state of my skin.

So will I use it? Yes, on full makeup days, absolutely - it's a fantastic makeup remover. But on a daily basis? No, I already battle wrinkes/blackheads/owwy red pimples, I don't want to add whiteheads into the mix.

Tips: Be careful about using it on your eyes, it stings a little. Also be gentle when squeezing it out as I found myself being overzealous and a fair bit splashed about the bathroom and the bathroom sink, oops.
