I have been mask crazed lately and I had been eyeing this mask up for a long time so when there was a discount for this I didn't hesitate to get it. This mask has a lot of manuka honey and avocado oil. The ingredients list reads water, manuka honey, avocado oil, glycerine, cetearyl alcohol, stearic acid, glycerol stearate, gluconolactone, sodium benzoate, calcium gluconate, vinanza grape grapeseed extract, carrot oil, pohutukawa flower extract, vitamin E and essential oil fragrances of vanilla & mandarin. The lovely thing about manuka honey is that it really is a beneficial ingredient for any skin type. If you have oily and acne prone skin the honey is soothing and antibacterial and if you have really dry skin or sensitive skin, manuka honey can soothe and moisturize it. I smooth this mask on after I've done a clay or mud or deep cleansing mask to put the moisture back in my skin and calm down any irritation from using a peel. Now the one thing a bit confusing about this mask is that the instructions say to smooth a thick layer or this mask on. I find that a bit difficult since although the formula is luxurious and creamy, it isn't a really thick formula. So when you spread it on it thins out and if you want a thick layer you have to add more layers. That being said I find the thin layers work just as well and use up less product. The instructions say to leave this on for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water. I usually leave it on for longer and haven't had any issues. Now as far as a spot treatment, I don't think this has helped my pimples clear up faster but what I do like about this is that it treats my dry skin and soothes my skin without giving me more pimples or making my existing breakouts bigger. Which means when I have a few pimples, which is probably about 90% of the time so I do like a moisturizing mask that suits my skin 90% of the time. I do wish this was a bit more affordable but that being said the tube will last me a really long time.

Tips: The instructions say to leave it on for 15 minutes but you can leave it on for longer. Some people leave it on overnight, I don't because it find the masks that are designed as sleeping masks more comfortable to sleep in. A couple times a year different shops will have discounts on Antipodes or perhaps a 3 for 2, if you're eyeing this and don't want to pay top dollar you can wait for one of those sales to purchase this.
I bought this mask while I was on summer holiday as I read a review about how hydrating it was. I needed it as even with sunscreen my face was dry, rough and dehydrated. It exceeded my expectations, it made my skin so soft and moisturised. I wouldn't normally use a hydrating mask on my chin area (due to acne), but I read in the instructions that it was anti-bacterial and helps with acne as well. So this is the absolute perfect mask for me. The tube is a really decent size, and I probably only use about a 50cent coin worth of product each time. The product is not exposed to air being in the tube, and is very convenient to use. I think the price is fair, as it is a high quality luxurious product. It smells amazing, I can mostly smell vanilla in it. This is definitely a product I will keep purchasing. I always feel amazing afterwards, my skin glows for days.
Tips: Use on neck as well
love this mask so much. wish i would use it more often... skin instantly feels refreshed - clean and glowing. So easy to apply, and drys off into a thin layer (almost feels like its absorbed into skin, like a moisturizer would) and super easy to take off after 12-15mins. If I am in a hurry i would wipe it off with a makeup removing cloth otherwise comes off easily when washed with water.
I was introduced to this product by a friend who used it and now I'm converted! It has a mild sweet smell, and a thick creamy consistency. Easy to smooth onto your skin and doesn't go all tight as it dries. You can leave it on for 20 minutes or overnight, either way it leaves your skin feeling so soft, smooth and hydrated when you wash it off. I haven't tried using it on spots / blemishes when they have come up, but then I don't get a lot, Usually if I get one it's because I haven't used the mask in awhile.. oops! It is a little pricey but I find it lasts awhile & does a great job so worth the price! Best mask I have ever tried.
I'm onto my second tube of this delicious face mask, and can't say enough good things about it!
My (usually combination) skin has become incredibly dry and dehydrated over the winter time leaving it all flakey and miserable. I've found that this mask has not only helped to hydrate it and bring it back to life, but it has also become less red and blotchy.
As a spot treatment, it has been an absolute life saver to me - healing pimples practically overnight. We're talking those big beasts that would normally take forever to leave, too!!!
I'm currently using this once a week, but this mask is so gentle that it could certainly be used more often if needed. A true miracle worker!!!
Tips: Dab onto pimples and leave as an overnight mask to heal quickly.
I had my eye on this mask for quite a while but had not come around to purchasing it as I already have sooo many masks, but i caved in and got it anyways! And im so glad I did!
Some people say they use it as a night cream every day, but I prefer to use it as a mask. About twice a week I squeeze out about a teaspoon (maybe more...) amount onto my fingers and layer it up on my freshly cleaned face. Then I go about my stuff as usual and wash it off after about 20 minutes. Instantly your skin feels so refreshed and hydrated and sooo soft and smooth.
The mask itself has a sweet smell similar to the antipodes avocado pear night cream. It has a medium creamy white consistency, thicker than moisturisers.
I do not suffer from acne but do get pimples and blemishes from time to time. The mask hasn't done much for blemishes however it is nice and soothing on them.
Overall I am pleased with the product. It looks and feels amazing on your skin, however not entirely sure if it it worth the hefty price! Will only repurchase if its on special!
Tips: You can use it as a spot treatment as well, just apply a layer onto your blemishes and let the mask do the rest!
To begin, I was incredibly confused with applying this, as dumb as that makes me sound. As it said to apply a thick layer, but because the product is relatively thin, I was unsure if I was meant to layer it up or not. In the end I chose not to layer it, and it didn't take away from the results...
Now that that is out of the way.. I LOVE this mask. My skin feels amazingly supple and smooth afterwards, not to mention intensely hydrated! I wasn't familiar with masks like this, as I had only used clay masks before, so was not prepared for the amount of time you have to wait before removing, however, it's definitely worth the wait!
Not to mention, it smells heavenly! Made me fell like something sweet to eat!
I really felt like the manuka honey in it acted as a great natural "antiseptic" as I noticed that in the week following use of this mask, I never get any form of break outs.
Because you have to wait at least 15 minutes before washing off, I only tend you use it once a fortnight or so (as I don't have the patience) however this is all this mask needs to do its thing!
Tips: Don't be intimidated by the instructions of adding a thick layer, it works just fine with a thin layer!
I have acne prone skin which can be oily, but also very dry. The healing properties of the manuka in this mask really helped clear up my blemishes and my skin felt well moisturised afterwards without feeling oily. It doesn't dry up when you wear it, so I use it as my lazy face mask that can be left on to watch tv without having to wash it off. I found that with regular use the product was more effective.
Tips: Sometimes it can be hard to wash off afterwards, so I would advise using a face cloth to really get at it.
I was given a tube of this when I was researching natural skincare products that specifically used Manuka Honey as an ingredient.
You can't beat (medical grade) Manuka Honey as a skincare ingredient, so combining this in a completely natural skincare product offers all skin types a great, healing treatment.
The only big dislike I have about this product, is that it comes in a metal tube. The tube creases up easily (really not great to travel with), which not only looks awful, it also made it difficult to get the last of the product out. This put me off quite a bit.
The mask itself is a great product. It's a pale yellow/cream colour, and has a fresh, soft scent.
My skin is quite dry/sensitive, so the nourishing properties of this mask really appeal to me. It applies more like a moisturiser, and doesn't dry out on the skin over time (although I found I needed to apply quite a generous amount initially, as it my skin did soak it up quickly).
It's really soothing and hydrating, and left my skin feeling soft, calm and refreshed. As for using it as a spot treatment, I'm not sure it gives the immediate effects that you tend to expect from such claims.
I apply a generous layer after cleansing and exfoliating, and leave it on for about 20/30 minutes before rinsing off with a warm cloth.
I would recommend this to anyone, but in particular those with dry, sensitive and/or inflamed skin. It's a lovely at-home treatment.
Tips: Try leaving it on overnight for a really deep hydrating and healing treatment. Cleanse in the morning as normal.
This is gentle, hydrating & feels nice on the skin. This has the consistency of a thick moistener and does not set once applied. It is gentle on my sensitive skin, but I did not find it helpful for my spots and blemishes - even when I applied it directly to my problem areas overnight instead of applying it as a mask.
