MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation Review

I am a big fan of long wearing foundations- I prefer one that lasts the distance. MAC are one of my favourite for foundations- I use studio fix regularly and this has become my go to.

The tube is handy and convenient to use. I like that it’s not breakable. The tube is in the usual - sleek and stylish MAC look.

The formula is nice and easy to apply with my stippling brush. The color range has a wide range to suit most.

The formula is easy to apply and the coverage is fantastic. It hides blemishes and looks natural too, as it is buildable.

Overall it’s one of my favourite foundations and I always have a tube of this. A five star foundation.

I've previously used other MAC foundations and recently went in to get colour matched for this pro wear foundation. While the other MAC foundations are great, this one is hands down my favourite of them! I asked the makeup artist for something suitable for long photoshoots under bright/hot lights and that didn't look too matte or glowy and she recommended trying this product.

After wearing it throughout the day, I found it to be very long lasting and it feels and looks very smooth and natural. From a glance, it doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup at all and just makes my skin look even and smooth. Very, very happy with this foundation and will definitely be buying it from now on!

I have super fussy skin when it comes to foundation, and have only ever found one foundation that looks perfect and stays perfect all day - my Estee Lauder Double Wear. Unfortunately it also comes with a pretty hefty price tag, so I've been trying to find something more affordable but just as effective. Unfortunately the MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation doesn't quite cut it.

Initially this foundation seems great - the packaging is simple and effective, and the range of shades available is excellent. I love how MAC caters for super pale gals like me, because it can often be hard to find a truly 'porcelain' colour. I like the thickness of this foundation, it really does cover everything and provides a perfect base. It lasts really well for the first 2-3 hours of wear.

Unfortunately from the 3 hour mark onward this foundation went rapidly downhill for me. It started to fade and smudge, and my skin started looking very uneven and blotchy. Needless to say it did not live up to its 36 hour wear claim!

I still use this for quick trips to the shops or coffee dates with friends, but Estee Lauder Double Wear remains my go-to for day-long foundation!
