It's a wonderful product, I purchased a deep red and really works with my face and it lasted an entire evening so A++ for durability, but I don't want to be spending $40 every time I buy a lipstick, even if the quality is fantastic.
My favourite lipsticks are the mac ones they apply smoothly and have great pigmentation. although they are a bit expensive.
First if all these are the more pricier ones in my collection for the time being. I bought my first set four years ago. I had ruby woo, fixed on drama, diva, flat out fabulous which is an all time favorite and all fired up.
Nowadays I have about sixteen of them. I like them so much. Mostly have mattes and retro mattes plus one amplified. They dont last as long as I would like it to especially while eating and drinking but give me a decent five to six hours. The thing I love about them is that they have a huge range of colors. If you are buying online its better to see swatches online so you know what colors suit you.
The packaging is okay. It comes in a bullet tube and has MAC written on it and they smell nice. The only colors that are patchy are candy yumyum, relentlessly red and all fired up. Im about to hit pan on some of them.
They do make my lips dry but go on smooth and thats why I use it. Maybe the dryness is because of the matte formula and color. Or I got a dud. Nevertheless I will keep buying this if they introduce more colors that catch my eyes. An all time favorite.
MAC have nailed their range, there's really something for everyone there. I generally stick in my well defined comfort zone of modest pinks, but I've started to reach out to some louder colours and I have found MAC perfect for this. Also, it stays for ages which I love.
I had used Mac lipsticks before by 'borrowing' my friends' but this would count as the first one I properly OWN. And boy do I love it! I'm usually not a purply, bold lips kinda gal, but I thought I'd give it a try after doing lots of research. This color is a little more vibrant on me than on Lorde (most likely because of my pale skin). It applies super smoothly and the finish is somewhere in the middle between matte and glossy. It stays amazingly throughout the day and does not crease in my 'lip wrinkles', which is a big plus for me. Only thing I'm not happy about is the price of it in New Zealand, but if you consider it a 'highend' lipstick then it's fair I guess. I'm keen to buy a matte one next, perhaps Taupe or velvet teddy since they both suit my skintone quite well.
Personally I love the Mac lipsticks - anything matte is my favourite but im also loving the pearl and frost. I love how the different formulas show the same colours in different lights. Also I find them very hydrating! The only thing that puts me off is the price.
Who doesn't love a good lipstick? Mac lipsticks are my holy grail! I wish they werent so expensive so i could buy more. The shades are super pigmented, opaque and creamy. They go on smooth and they last ages on my lips!
I own the iconic Ruby woo colour and I can understand why it's so popular. Mac lipsticks just have such good quality. The colour pay off is so good and they last a long time on the lips. I will say like most department store brands, Mac lipsticks are not very affordable, but you'll definitely get enough wears to make up for the price. The lipstick formula goes easily on the lips and doesn't dry out! I love the texture and the black packaging is always a plus for me.
Tips: The smell is not strong so it won't be distracting.
I own quite a few MAC lipsticks, mostly pink/brown hues such as Faux, Twig, honey-love, viva la glam ll and the Cinderella lipsticks. Faux is my all time favourite and I love it to bits! It's a pinky brown and it just looks great on everyone! (Chi Chi has a dupe called Sec Bomb), all my standard MAC lipsticks are great! However I felt like the Cinderella collection was a bit of a let down :( I own both lipsticks and they're not as pigmented as the normal MAC ones and they don't last as long :( I still love MAC and I'm excited for their new collections :)
Tips: - Always exfoliate your lips to get the finish as smooth as possible - use a lip liner!!! Helps the lipstick stay longer and doesn't "bleed" onto your skin
