Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

This foundation is simply AMAZING. It's staying power is one hard to match, whilst it still gives amazing coverage. Sometimes it needs setting so that it doesn't slip otherwise it's one of my faves! ... It's worth forking out the money!

This is a pricey foundation but if you're after something that Will. Not. Budge.and are willing to spend a little extra (and I think it's worth it) then this could be for you.

I haven't scored this as high as it probably deserves because for me and my combination extremely dry/pimply skin it was a tad too greasy.

It's definitely not a product I would use as my everyday foundation for my trips to playgroup and the supermarket. For a big event or (admittedly rare) night out however, it's ideal.

It does not lie, it will stay in place. In this day and age keeping your word in the world of marketing is not something to be sniffed at.

This sounds like an exaggeration, but I swear it's true. At least once a week, someone will comment on my skin and ask what I use. This product is the reason!

For once, here's a long-lasting foundation that does what it says it does: I apply it at 5am when I leave to go for work - and when I go to bed at 10.30pm it is still on and looking great!

I love that it doesn't come off on my clothes, and I love its coverage.

Two things to be aware of: it is a very drying product (out of necessity), so a good moisturiser is a must. And it's a good idea to double-cleanse - it is so effective that a single cleanse doesn't get rid of it all.

Pretty pricey, but for me, worth every penny. Once on - it stays on.

I fall in and out of love with this product!

I find this quite a full coverage foundation and tend to only wear this going out of an evening.

This does leave you looking flawless and have worn it a few times for photo shoots.. tends to photograph well without giving without. This may look too heavy for day wear and or summer. The colour options are limited and this is quite expensive but does last a long time.

I may try this product again over winter and try to apply with my Sigma Flat Kabuki.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting a full coverage matte look.. colour selections limited so make sure the colour is right for you. Its a lot of money to get the wrong colour and be unhappy.

This is definitely expensive, but definitely worth it. I got colour matched and tested the foundation out for a few days before buying a bottle and it is one of the best makeup decisions I have ever made. I get home at the end of the day with my makeup looking just how it did when I applied it in the morning! This is very full coverage and in future I will most likely save this for days where I want extra coverage or special occasions, nights out etc. This really goes on and stays on, doesn't go patchy or flaky, doesn't fade or wear off. Every other foundation I have tried sinks into those smiles lines every day and I find myself trying to blend them out when I go to the bathroom - I couldn't believe it when I didn't have this problem with double wear! Applies and buffs into the skin well, I have tried this with both a duo fiber brush and the RT buffing brush and both work well with this foundation.

After all the hype about this product... I really wanted to love it. But unfortunately I just cant! Big thumbs down for me.

I have quite oily, breakout prone skin. Everytime I use this foundation my skin breaks out worse than it ever has. The product itself slips around all day and needs to be touched up constantly. I definitely would not buy this again for the price it is!

I find that this foundation dries out my skin a lot. When I first started wearing the foundation i woke up the next morning with little red bumps on my chin even after cleaning my face and removing the foundation before I went to bed. It seems to stay on my face however I found myself having to reapply on my nose as it made it oily there (something I don't usually have to do) this foundation seems to work well for most people so it may just be my skin type.

i am in inlove with this product not only does it do what it says it does BUT man does it last a long long time i know this is bad but i fell asleep with it on and woke up in the morning and it was still perfect i mean WOW. can not rave about it MORE

I absolutely adore this foundation! It is truly full coverage and long lasting... so long lasting that it's a pain to remove! There is a whole range of colours, and you can get matched at your nearest counter.. Though, when you do, make sure to get a sample just to ensure you are getting the right colour, and that it works well with your skin because everyone is different! :) personally, I got matched to 3 different shades at 3 different counters and I chose which one I liked best haha for the amount your paying, you need to make sure it's peeerrrfect ;)

I've recently become a convert of DW after reading about it on the forum and doing a bit research. For the last 8 years or so I've always used Napoleon Perdis foundations but I honestly don't think I'll go back to them as this is sooo good.

Packaging wise, it's very plain. I would like to see this foundation have a pump applicator rather than the screw top. It's just a frosted glass bottle, It's quite heavy and think it wouldn't break easily if you were to drop it.

It took me 3 samples to find the correct shade but the lady behind the counter was very accommodating in helping me get the right one.

I find it easier to pour mine out into the sample pot they gave me and apply from there with either my real techniques sponge or a stippling brush.

It's quite thick and creamy but easy to apply with either a brush or sponge (haven't tried my fingers yet) and there is no funny smell either. The only downside to using a sponge is that I seem to use a bit more product that I would with a brush.

The coverage you get is up to you and how you apply it, I find just one coat is enough for normal day to day wear but if you want heavier coverage you can easily build it up.

I don't even bother looking in the mirror at work anymore as I know this is doing its job, it lasts all throughout the day with no touch ups required - I hope I can still say that when summer hits and things heat up as I really like the semi-matte finish you get from this.

I haven't had any problems with my skin reacting to it either, it's tough to remove but it seems as long as you take it off correctly your skin doesn't suffer.

The price tag is quite hefty but I feel for the quality of product you are getting its justified. I also don't need a primer or powder with this so that makes up for it being a bit more expensive I reckon :)
