When do you file your feet?

**** This Trial Opportunity Has Now Closed ****

Hands up, who has neglected their feet this winter?  Of course you have, your tootsies have been hidden away beneath socks and UGG boots.  And in spite of all they do for us, out of sight is out of mind.

But this fortnight Beauty Review is getting ready for summer and we're starting from the bottom up.  First up is giving our feet a little TLC and getting them looking their best for sandal season.

Hard skin and calluses have to be one of the worst things to happen to feet and not just because it looks, well, less than beautiful.  Build ups of hard skin, particularly on your heels can lead to painful splits - these wounds can add unnecessary pain to everyday life - regularly removal of dead skin cells can help prevent this.

We bet you've all 'filed' your feet at some point right?  From pumice stones to glass files, to metal tools that look like cheese graters; there's lots of choice for removing hard skin.  Whatever tool you choose, you'll have one more decision to make - will you use it on wet or dry feet?  It's a question that divides women everywhere! We wonder if this poll will finally give us the definitive answer?

The Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi features an ergonomically shaped soft touch handle and specially designed Micralumina™ roller head.  This battery powered device is used on dry skin - it rolls at high speed to gently buff away rough, hard skin.  Smooth feet, the easy way!

We're putting Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi to the test, and we need 25 great reviewers with feet in need of smoothing to put it to the test!  Check out BR's Video Crew member Charli in our How To Video to see how this ingenious little device works, and see if you'd be interested in trialing it!

So if this sounds like something you'd love to try tell us why below - we might just pick you!  And why not chat to us about your feet.  Do you suffer from callouses and hard skin and how often do you 'file' them? And, most importantly -  do you file wet feet, or dry feet?!

I am on my feet all day at work so I try to look after them - so they will look after me! Have been using a Pedi-egg to good effect the last few years. The results are pretty good but it is a bit awkward to use and easy to be a bit over-enthusiastic. Seems like this device would be safe and easy.

I actually do both wet and dry. I have ugly dry hard heels, although they have never cracked, it's like a callus all the way around my heel. I soak them before using the cheese grater looking contraption, and gently scrub my heel while it's under the water. When my feet are dry I actually use sandpaper, the fine grade not the rough rugged stuff, my girls hate it when I do this, it creates an awful lot of snow lol so must do this outside in the sun. Doing my feet with sandpaper is really time consuming and a little on the awkward side. This gadget seems like a miracle product can't wait to read more of the reviews.

I've always used pumice in the shower but I would love to give this a go since they don't need to be wet. I have been eyeing this up for awhile when shopping but due to price I want to know it's worth it before I buy. I would love to give this a go and see the difference as using pumice in shower hasn't always been that great.

I always use a file when dry, but then pumice in the shower when wet... what's that about?!

Oh how my poor feet need this. They get majorly neglected far too often and I've been wanting to try this. I eye it up every time I pass it in the supermarket.

I have dry heels though not cracked. I usually file them when dry, but haven't filed them since the end of summer as they just get covered up. Would love to try this, am currently just using a foot file that it bought at the warehouse.

Im always a dry buffer myself and I go to the beach to do it. Love the sand beneath my feet, but Im not a beach fan during winter so my poor feet get tucked away in kathmandu and hunting and fishing socks to keep nice and cosy. Now with summervjust around the corner I have been treating my feet to foot soaks and alot of moisteriser. To be able to try the velvet smooth would be an added bonus

Omg I've been waiting for someone to invent something like this! lol. I've always had hard dry skin on my feet for as long as I can remember. I use one of those cheese grater type things to file my feet, but I hate doing it and it gives me a sore hand. But if I don't do it, they get cracks and hurt!! This would make it so much easier to do!

I've used the cheese grater type foot files and the sandpaper type. I would love to give this electronic foot file a try. I would like to file my week once a week but I tend to be a bit lax since it's fairly time consuming manually filing at calluses. I would love to how quickly this electronic foot file can do the job.

8th September, 2014

I usually file my feet when they are dry. I do tend to get dry, hardened skin on my heels so this sounds like an interesting product. Would be very keen to give it a go.

This sounds like a product I definitely need, I suffer from cracked heels and they are sooo ugly, I do forget about my feet if they are lucky they could possibly get a slap of moisturiser in the mornings and that's about all the attention they get, that is unless I rope my husband into giving me a foot massage!! I will hold on to wearing my socks for as long as possible lol!!

8th September, 2014

My heels are cracked, not too bad but I know if i dont start doing something soon, its just going to get worse coming into summer .

8th September, 2014

I've used the files, I find it works a bit but not as much as I would like. I get really bad dry cracked heels & I use so much foot creams & tools & I just can't seem to get them smooth. It can be really embarrassing. I'd love to try this express pedi, I've mostly awesome things about it.

I always go the dry way. It is some what satisfying seeing the dry powdery skin fall away and you are left with lovely soft skin. I have unsightly thick skin on my heels and summer is hellish keeping up with it
