How often do you exfoliate?

If you've got your cleansing, toning and moisturising down, but your skin is still lacking a little something-something, you might want to add in 1-2 exfoliating sessions a week.  You can literally scrub away the old/dead skin and face your day fresh faced and shiny-new.  And in this cold and drying weather, trust your Auntie Natnee when she tells you - your skin needs a scrub.

It doesn't matter what skin type you have (even sensitive), regular, gentle exfoliation can help.  Here's 5 ways exfoliating your face is a good thing:

  1. It can reduce breakouts.  Acne prone and oil skin generally sheds more skin cells - but instead of falling off, they stick to the oils in your skin, clogging pores and creating spots.  Exfoliating can help remove the skin cell debris and prevent a build up.
  2. It can reduce large pores. Clogged pores look larger - exfoliating unclogs the pores allows them to shrink back in size.
  3. It can improve the texture of your skin.  Getting rid of dead cells allows new cells to take their place.  Essentially your skin will go from dull to bright!
  4. It can help your skin absorb other products better.  Blocked pores will not absorb your lotions and potions as efficiently as unclogged pores.  A huge bonus is that it allows sunscreen to absorb more and better protect your skin.
  5. It can help prevent the signs of ageing.  Exfoliating smoothes the skin and helps it keep it's elasticity.

We're looking for 25 reviewers to put the Dr Lewinn's Facial Polishing Gel to the test.  This gorgeous exfoliator polishes skin to reveal and fresh and glowing complexion.  The gentle ‘sloughing off’ action makes this an ideal morning exfoliator under the shower, assisting in cleansing blocked pores and removing oil from your skin’s surface.

It's free from any harsh, abrasive ingredients, containing natural herbal extracts and nutrients for added skin conditioning.  This gel effectively polishes your skin without scratching using natural Jojoba esters (beads).  It's oil free and suitable for all skin types when used as directed. (Use once a week for normal to dry skin, or 3 to 4 times a week for combination to oily skin.)

So if you'd like to be one of twenty five ladies putting this to the test, why not get chatting to us about your exfoliating habits?  Are you a regular scrubber or is it something you need to start including in your skincare routine?  For the regular exfoliators among us, do you notice a change if you skip a session?

This sounds like just what my aging skin needs. I never really thought about exfoliating and after reading about it I think I should. This sounds wonderful.

I would love to trial this one please. I have been using a bamboo exfoliator powder in the shower which was good, but my partner has nabbed it for his trip overseas...so I am exfoliator-less! I haven't used this one before, but I know Dr Lewinns is a trusted brand and would be very keen to be on this trial.

i never exfoliate, and given the condition of my skin, i should

I'm so bad as I haven't exfoliated for ages. I know I should be.

I exfoliate a lot. My whole body, head to toe. I have a lot of dry, flaky skin especially on my face where it's most visible. I do use skincare products, moisturisers and exfoliant so I would to test this one out and compare it for sure!

I used to exfoliate too much - almost every day because it felt like a good cleanse. I have calmed down a but now and only use 3 times a week (I have oily skin). I love the feeling of my skin feeling soft afterwards. Would love to try this as it looks a bit more gentle than my one.

I love exfoliating my skin! It always feels so much softer and cleaner when I do. I am currently using the Sub24 scrub, as it is super gentle on the skin. I am always keen to try new products though and this one sounds lovely!

This product sounds great! I like that it doesn't contain harsh ingredients, and has herbal extracts, I find that more natural products work better for my skin. I exfoliate once or twice a week, because while my skin is oily it also gets dry patches so it's nice to get rid of those with a nice gentle scrub. Would love to try this!

I exfoliate about 1 - 2 times a week depending on how my skin is feeling, I enjoy trying new exfoliants as they can vary quite a bit between brands. My favourite a the moment is a mango face scrub - smells delicious!

I've tried a few exfoliating products and am currently using Dove. There are a couple of roughness options and I vary which one I use according to how my skin feels that day. I would like try Dr Lewinn's version.

Eek I don't! Naughty! I do use a gentle retinol at night which I believe is like a chemical exfoliant but I'm very aware I need to add in some exfoliating sessions!

28th June, 2017

I try to exfoliate often but i have developed skin sensitivity issues and finding a exfoliator that works with my skin is becoming very difficult. I find that lots of exfoliators are focused towards people with oils or acne prone skin. Both of which I don't have. I would love to give this a go.

I have to exfoliate a couple times a week, i find it makes my foundation go on so much smoother! It makes my skin so soft and smooth, and helps keep away those pesky dry patches during winter months

27th June, 2017

I haven't as much lately as the one I have has those little bead things in them which I heard aren't so great so I really need to get around to purchasing a new Exfoliator!

27th June, 2017

I probably exfoliate only once a fortnight (I know, I keep forgetting!) I've heard that it helps so much with acne scarring!
