How much attention do you pay when cleansing your face?

Ok, we've established in the past that when it comes to some beauty habits (sunscreen, teeth brushing, moisturising for example) I'm annoyingly pedantic but other beauty chores I am, well, a bit lazy.  I don't line or prime my lips pre-lipstick, I actually can't remember the last time I brushed my hair and I'm pretty sure the polish clinging to my toe nails was applied in summer.

An area of my skin care routine where I'm really inconsistant is cleansing my face.  I mean I give it the water treatment twice a day, I'm not a total heathen, but I only use cleanser when I'm wearing makeup or feel particularly grubby.   You see, up until a few years ago, to me the word cleanser was synonymous with facial wash.  Foam.  Facial soap.  Squeaky clean skin that felt too clean and would feel tight and dry.  So I just didn't use one.

Obviously working for BR I've since discovered me a couple of fabulous cream cleansers and oil cleansers, and I do now use a cleanser semi-regularly, but I give the act of cleansing no more than a minute of my time a day. Wet face, rub on cleanser, rinse.

You're probably thinking why on earth I'm waffling on about my lack of good cleansing - well its this video.  You see, I was researching our latest trial product and there was a very handy instructional video, and well, it's made me rethink a few things.

Why aren't I taking the time every day to enjoy cleansing my face?  You know, creating a sensory experience, relaxing as I literally wash the day away? Why don't I pay a bit more attention to what is actually an important step in one's skin care routine?  (Seriously kids, do as I say, not as I do - use a cleanser daily!)

You might have guessed - we're putting the Evolu Relaxing Creme Cleanser to the test.  This gentle facial wash will deeply clean and clarify without stripping the skin of its natural defences. The effective non-foaming formula uses a balanced blend of botanical actives to cleanse impurities and effectively remove face and eye make-up.

Just look at the properties of the botanical actives:

Calendula   - anti-aging, protective
Geranium   - calming, therapeutic, improves circulation
Apricot Extract  - softens, hydrates
St John's Wort   - calms inflamed skin, helpful for blemishes

It's suitable for all skin types, especially those with sensitivities or problem dryness and promises to leave the skin relaxed, soothed and polished.

It sounds great right?  And of course, being an Evolu product your guaranteed an incredible aromatic experience too.  So why not tell us about your cleansing habits - do you take your time and enjoy your cleansing routine, or is it a step you don't give much attention to?  Do you cleanse twice a day, or like me, are you a little more haphazard with your cleansing routine?  Why would you like to try the Evolu Relaxing Creme Cleanser?

oooo if it was a sensory experience I'd be more inclined to enjoy the experience! At the moment I just erm wash my face! haha and focus particularly on my problem areas such as my chin. If this product is hydrating and good for blemishes then I'd definitely love to give it a try!

It's the first thing I do in the shower at night but I really should get in the habit of cleansing I'm the morning. I just use what ever is in the shower.

In the past I've been really inconsistent with my skincare routine and I get lazy. I used to just get sick of it and think it would take too long so i would skip steps, and would keep breaking out. I was never usually persistent enough to stick to a routine for long enough to actually see the results.

Recently I've been working really hard to look after my skin and following my routine. I'm currently using the goodness daily cleanser and it seems to be going good so far but I'm always keen to try something different. I'm still sort of in that mindset that the skincare routine is sort of annoying, takes a long time and I just want to get it over and done with quickly so I can go to bed or start my day, which is maybe why I just try get it done as quickly as possible. Maybe if i try actually enjoy it and take my time I'll find that it's not so tedious and it's a bit of pamper time for my skin.

I love the sound of those botanical ingredients that carry a lot of natural benefits!

I cleanse twice a day but try and get it over and done with as quick as possible. Would be great to try this relaxing creme cleanser so I can enjoy the process!

I use cleansers morning and night, one for stripping the war paint off and another gentle wash for morning face washes. Theres nothing better than a fresh face that can breathe, i find at night it may take two cleanses to get everything off, that and i find using micellar water or the trilogy balm on the eyes to be so much gentler than scrubbing the poor lashes. A cream cleanser sounds great to use on the face, i would love to try this and this brand!

I cleanse my face everyday but, it is just one of those things, like, brushing my teeth. I'd love to actually enjoy it and have it make a difference to my skin.

Guilty here of squeezing the product out and lathering it all over my face to get a soapy foam and then wash it off, never really thought about how it might affect how it works if I was to actually think about what I'm doing, and take my time!

I love cleaning my face, almost as much as love slathering night cream on afterwards. I have been using crème cleansers for a while now, even throughout the year. I love the creamy feel, it doesn't strip the skin and leave that tight feeling yet I like how clean my skin feels afterwards. I also don't like strong scents as it ruins the relaxing feeling. I do expect a lot from my cleanser! I clean with cleanser only at night because I feel that I only need a little micellar water or warm water in the morning to freshen up. I love the Evolu range, I have tried their body butter and body scrub and my mum loves their anti-ageing day cream and best of all their scents never aggravate my nose and it's all NZ made and natural!

At the moment all I've been using is micellar water (or a wipe if I'm feeling particularly lazy!). I feel like my skin could be looking a lot better if I used a cleanser at least once a day, however I don't have a holy grail favourite, and I find the choice of products overwhelming so I just haven't settled on a new one to try. The St John's Wart in this product looks appealing as I have blemish prone skin, and I do find that the routine at night of at least taking of my makeup and moisturising is very calming. Plus that video was super calming to watch, I can only imagine now nice it feels to use.

I don't currently pay enough attention to my skincare, but I am getting much better at it! It really SHOULD be an "experience" though!

It used to be! Now I am a Mum its a bit rushed and budget for nice products has decreased a bit!!

Love the natural based products best and prefer a cream over a gel.

Calendula in the cleanser - genius! I have used calendula before but haven't really come across it incorporated into "nicer" products. Also sold with the Apricot, for me my skin is a fan of anything with apricot. Makes sense to take a bit more care when cleaning, I can be a bit rough and tumble with it. Evolu - so many amazing sounding products up for testing, I'm keen!

I would like for it to be something I enjoy as I think it's important to look after your skin, and it's something if was done with products that seem to work especially around time of month and were luxurious I would probably enjoy it more.

I love cleansing my face with a good cleanser. It's like giving yourself your own facial while you take far too long in the shower and hog all the hot water lol. I never used to cleanse twice a day, just once. But I now realise how important it is to cleanse in the morning and how "dirty" your skin can get over night. This cleanser sounds so lovely and gentle I would love to try it.

I usually cleanse once a day and sometimes twice a day if I'm not busy. I'm generally pressed for time so I see cleansing as a chore, more than an experience. Maybe I'm just using the wrong cleanser and this one might make it more enjoyable! My skin type is combination/oily (with the occasional blemish) so it would be interesting to see how this works with my skin.
