You might know this already, but the Beauty Crew are huge fans of primers.  We are very much on the 'it's a crime not to prime' bandwagon.

We're not going to tell you once again how primers smooth your skin, even your skin tone and create the perfect canvas for makeup to adhere to; instead we're going to talk about a different kind of primers - tinted primers.

When you think of tinted products you probably think of moisturisers or lip balms - an everyday product with just a hint of colour to add a subtle oomph to your look.  Tinted products generally only come in one or two shades, the idea being that the pigments will be quite sheer - they're not going to offer coverage, more they'll balance your skin tone.

Tinted primers are becoming the next must-have tinted product - imagine how much easier your BB Cream or Foundation would be to apply evenly if your skin tone was even first.  You can get lilac toned primers to counteract the yellow in sallow skin and green primers to balance out redness.

We're putting Dermalogica skinperfect primer spf30 to the test!  This illuminating make-up prep will smooth away fine lines, brighten and prime for flawless skin and to prep for make-up application. Velvety silicones combine with Soy Protein to even out skin texture, as natural minerals provide a neutral tint to balance skin tone and enhance luminosity and radiance.

We're looking for 10 fantastic reviewers to put this $88 product to the test, so if it sounds like something you'd love to try, why not tell us why below.  And while you're there, tell us your experience with tinted products - have you tried a tinted primer before and how did you find it?

I've never tried a tinted primer but it sounds great. I love a good primer and also a good BB with it's sheerer colour so it sounds like it would put the effects of both of those together in one.

I have only used tinted moisturisers before usually with a primer applied first, sounds good though

I'm pretty new to the world of priming (my life was seriously lacking before - how did I not know about this stuff earlier!) so I have only tried clear primer so far. I would love to give a tinted primer a go, I have a lot of redness so a tinted primer might be the way for me to go! SPF is also a major plus for me with summer coming as I'm super fair and burn easily'

I've only ever used a plain primer so a tinted one sounds great especially as I still have a pre-schooler at home and time is busy.

I've never used a primer with a tint, sounds like one of those how did they not think of it before combinations!

I haven't but this sounds absolutely fantastic! I have quite a lot of redness and unevenness in my skin due to a chronic illness so being able to get some colour correction done prior to foundation would be a huge help and sounds like you could then not use as much foundation thus avoiding the dreaded cake face. Also love that it's got an SPF of 30 in it!

I have used primers before and think they are a must have to help achieve a flawless base so your foundation application looks a lot better, I would love to try this product as I heard great reviews about it from friends of mine and would love to try it for myself, mainly I want to see if it has any major difference in creating an even smooth skin texture to my skin as the one I currently use and what luminosity it gives your skin

This sounds so awesome, I've used a BB cream as a primer and blur but neither are primers. Good to know about the different tones in the primers, I didn't know that you could help with redness or yellow,in sallow skin.

I only got into primers recently when I tried the Smashbox photo finish primer, but the tint sounds like a good idea, especially targeting yellower or redder skins! I wonder if it'd apply on as easily as BB cream then.

Sounds interesting. To tell you the truth the only primers I have heard of are the ones you use when painting your house. I must be out of touch. Willing to give it a go though, please pick me :-)

I am a simple does it girl, I love my bb cream and tinted moisturiser. I haven't really used primers at all as that's another step yet to apply after moisturising and using sunscreen but would love my makeup to last longer :)

I love the idea of balancing out the redness (a problem I have) and if I can have one less step to do in the morning that would be fantastic! Such a mission sometimes just achieving an appearance that won't scare people!

2nd September, 2014

I've used a couple of different primers which are great - this has reminded me that I need to get a new one as my last primer ran out a few months back! It'd be awesome to be able to trial a tinted one - not sure if I could afford $88 just for a primer unless it was proven to be absolutely amazing!

2nd September, 2014

I have never used a primer with a tint before. I would absolutely love to try this product, especially if it helps with fine lines as I'm not getting any younger and I feel like my skin would benefit from this. Primer is something I would like to try. My skin can be a bit red looking so something to counteract that would be great.

2nd September, 2014

I have never tried a primer before at all! this definitely sounds like something I need to try.
