We're part of an exciting industry.  There's always a new fad, a new ingredient or a new technique to go crazy about.  But the latest trend really does seem to be taking the mickey just a little bit.  Yes, ladies the world over are going gaga for...water.

But we're not talking about tap water, or even bottled from the source H20.  We're not even talking about the gentle toners, Rose Water or Thermal Spring Water.  No, we're talking about Micellar Water.

Micellar Water isn't a rinsing agent - it's an actual cleanser that's renowned for gently removing makeup and impurities from the skin. But here's the really cool part; Micellar Water is soap and detergent free and doesn't need washing off.  You can simply sweep it across your face with a cotton pad.

So how does it work, you may be wondering?  Micellar Waters contain micelles which are molecules that trap and remove impurities from the skin.  And because it's free from fragrance, soap and what nots, it's great for sensitive skin.

And the really great news?  There's a Micellar Water to suit every budget!

Have you tried Micellar Water yet?  Is it worthy of the hype?  Or is the concept of water being a miracle product just a little too far-fetched for you?

Planning on trying Garnier verison when I go to Ozzy unless they bring it here first (please do, so I can bring other heavy stuff back instead)

I started using Shiseido 'oil-free cleansing water' about twenty years ago, it's about time there were more brands producing this great product. My daughter has been using Garnier but had to buy it from Australia.

I haven't - but I really want to try it! Hoping the Garnier one comes to stores in New Zealand soon.

I haven't tried it and am a bit sceptical to be honest but will definitely give it a try in the new year

Sounds great

I've got the Bioderma Micellar water which I love. Not sure what I'm going to do when it runs out though... Can't wait for the Garnier one to be released!

I haven't tried this yet but did get a rose water product from the recent Beauty Vault to try.

It sounds a little like toner - I've never heard of it though. Anything without stuff in it has to be good doesn't it?

OMG this product sounds amazing - would be nice to get rid of the facial wipes I use in the evening because I am far too lazy to cleanse properly! Would love to try this product :)

I purchased the Bioderma one off Strawberrynet a few weeks ago and I love it. It takes off my eye makeup easier than anything else I've tried and is great for those big nights out where you can't be bothered washing your face aafterwards, I wipe my makeup off with a makeup wipe then go over with my Bio derma which just takes off anything the wipe has missed. Would love to try the Garnier one but it's not as easily accessible.

This sounds like an ideal thing to keep in the work truck just to remove all the grime from working near the road and on some days in it!

I'm a bit skeptical of how it would feel though, I'm a bit of a special case with textures and I hate the feeling of things sitting on my skin.

23rd December, 2014

Never heard of it but it's now firmly on the 'must try in 2015' list!!
