This poll is going to run on a bit of a presumption - that every woman reading it will be able to relate to the theme, because, well, don't stretchmarks unite all women?
Pregnancy is of course one of the main causes of stretchmarks but even women who haven't had babies will no doubt have a few stretchmarks here and there. They come hand in hand with hips and boobs right? As we hit puberty and our natural curves take shape it's inevitable that no matter how petite the woman, somewhere on her body will be a stretch mark or two.
Despite the skin's natural elasticity, when it is stretched rapidly or to the extreme, it doesn't bounce back. The elastic fibers in the skin will break and leave a stretch mark (known as striae), streaks, stripes and lines that are often indented. Fresh stretchmarks are red or purple in colour, but they will fade over time, to leave a silvery 'snail trail'.
And even though on our most irrational day we know stretchmarks are normal, we have at some point, all hated on those lines, at least just a little, right? Now if you know you can expect stretchmarks (ie when your pregnant) you can take measures to prevent them, by massaging your skin with oils, lotions or body butter. But what can we do once the lines have formed?

We know, it sounds amazing! So why not get chatting to us about your stretch marks. Do they get you down and what have you tried to reduce the appearance of them? Or are you the only woman in the world not to have stretch marks? Or maybe you're a tiger that's earned her stripes and are accepting of them?
I'm the mother to 5 boys and I am quite small and my baby badges looked like dark angry burn scars. my youngest is now 5mths old and my stretch marks have faded alot and will always be there, so I wear them with the same pride I feel for my boyz
