Too heavy

I bought this product in a travel set of Goodness products, which I have been really liking. Unfortunately, this night cream is a little too heavy for my combination skin. It doesn't make me break out or anything, but I prefer something that absorbs faster and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy.

On the plus side, I love the packaging (a wee glass jar), the ingredients (natural goodies like chia seed oil) and the price ($24 for the full-sized product).

If you are after something for dry to normal skin, this product is a really affordable option. If you have oily or combination skin like me, you may find this too rich for your lovely face!

Tips: Buy the travel set to try the mini size before you commit to a big one.

This grew on me. . . but I'm still not a big fan

I picked this up in a 'Try the Range' kit from Farmers, which was around $20 for the scrub, oil, lotion, cleanser and this night cream. I intentionally bought it for travel. I therefore have this product in a 25 ml sample size.

The Goodness Every Evening Cream comes in a brown glass jar with a soft orange label and a black plastic screw cap. This is fine, because as you apply it at night you generally have clean hands post cleansing of your face, and so my usual aversion to open product doesn't apply here.

The cream is a very thick white, and you only need a dot about the size of your pinky fingernail to cover your face. This product does not have the parsley-ish scent I noticed in the cleanser - it's a lot more subtle and neutral.

I actually rinsed this off my face the first time I used it because it felt ODD. It almost felt like my skin was absorbing it and plumping up instantly, and I didn't like it. I tried again though, and that sensation settles within ten minutes and skin starts to feel nice, smooth and hydrated. There isn't a greasy residue.

When I wake, my skin feels nice and hydrated - but I have had a couple of morning pimples (uncommon for me) since I started using this product. It's also coincided with stress and not so great eating, so I don't entirely blame the product, but I did notice it and wonder.

If it weren't for the odd post-application sensation this would have gotten a solid 4/5 from me - but I'm not a huge fan and am considering passing it on.

Tips: Definitely see if you can get the trial kit first x

Yeah I'm not allergic to anything in it and I was perplexed, but it's turned me off it tbh. The kits are a great way to try things out, that's for sure

I am going to try more of the goodness range because it really intrigues me. The afterward sensation does sound a wee bit strange though

Not for me

The Goodnees every evening cream comes packaged in a super cute little brown glass pottle. It is a thick cream with a fruity scent.

Unfortunately this cream is not my jam. Although the cream feels thick on my fingers, it doesn't translate to my face. The cream absorbs into my skin super fast meaning it is hard to spread around and also doesn't leave that lush hydrating feeling I like in a night cream. My skin is dry, so perhaps this is better suited to someone with oily skin who needs something lightweight.

The upside of that is that I'm able to also use it has a day cream, makeup applies over it quite well.

Was expecting more from this cream

At first I didn't like this cream at all but it did grow on me. It is quite a thick cream which I guess is good for an evening cream as it can sink in over night. However, I feel like it might of been too thick. My skin felt greasy after using this product. I would not recommend this product for oily or combination skin types. I love the packaging of this product though and the whole goodness range so was quite disappointed by this product.

Solid cream

I am Made in Newzealand lover.so whatever I see made in Nz I grab it. When I saw this brand in countdown first time, couldn't stop myself. I was confused between cleanser and evening cream and finally choose evening cream. To be honest I had really high hope for this, but unfortunately I am disappointed.

It is nice cute frost glass or plastic ( I don't know) 60ml pot. Also there are good ingredients like honeysuckle flower extract, chia seed oil, avocado oil, good for skin. You can smell all nice natural stuff but it is no overpowering.

Cream consistency is very very thick. If it is body butter than its all right. But this evening cream should be soft and light. Literally I have rub on my skin to absorb properly. After that my face get red and feel hot. Even I don't have sensitive skin however. After couples of minutes my skin get normal.

I have normal skin right now. I wouldn't recommend people who have oily skin. If you dry skin then go for it. But personally I like buttery, light cream specially night cream.my skin feel hydrating, soft and wake up with nice skin. I will finish this pot but wouldn't purchase again.

Tips: Good for dry skin

Too heavy for my skin

This is such a thick night cream. Probably suited for very dry skin types. I like the natural ingredients but it was much too thick and heavy for my skin type, which is combination. I found that even when I used the smallest amount, it left a film on my skin and did not sink in like my usual products do. Would not repurchase.

Had such high hopes for this cream

First off a little about my skin so you know why what happened and you will also know if it applies to you. I've got oily combination skin, which means that across the cheeks, forehead and nose it is oily, and around all the other areas it is dry. So I have to be careful to balance out my skincare products to cater for each. The Goodness range had me super interested and when I won a full sized jar of their evening cream which claimed to have all natural ingredients that were blended for the goodness of your skin I thought it was going to be the best night cream.

The packaging of this product is cute, and from what I have seen the whole Goodness range has a cute, put together packaging theme that makes them highly desirable for me, being the pretty thing hunter that I am. Inside the outer box there is the rounded tub of cream in its' smoky brown semi opaque plastic with a large orange label slapped around it's body, complete with a black plastic screw lid. Also in the box with a lovely letter from the Goodness team about the product and social media outlets.

Formula wise this cream is quite thick, white with hardly no fragrance too it. It applies evenly but does take a well to absorb which worried me as I only put a small amount on, as you do with a new product, you don't' want to go too heavy handed as you don't know how the product will react with your skin. Even as I climbed into bed there was a greasy feeling and shine to my skin. Next morning as I rinsed my face I noticed that it had a film texture which I assume was from the moisturiser. Nothing happened that day or the next but on the 3rd day up popped a pimple and oddily not in the oily area, it was on an area of dry skin. I kept with the cream but decided to blot my face a little well after use to remove any unabsorbed excess. However the pimple got angrier and produced a couple of friends so I stopped using the cream. Started double cleansing for a week to detox my skin and haven't gone back to the pot of cream since. I feel it is too heavy for my skin.

This would suit someone who has dry skin to very dry skin as it is really thick.

Not for me

I love products that use natural ingredients and usually find them good for my skin, but not this one. While it is certainly not bad for my skin, it definitely did not do it any good. I found the cream quite dry, so you needed to use a lot to make your face feel well moisturised. It may be that the cream would be better suited to someone that doesnt have dry skin. I am nearly 50 and this was no where near hydrating enough for me.
