Not What I Expected!

I was really amped to try this product after hearing everyone giving it great reviews, but I'm not 100% happy. Yes, I'm only 26 but after suffering bad skin this past year and dealing big pores and not so great texture I thought this product would at least minimize some of this. Pores still remain the same no matter how long I seem to wait before applying foundation. Skin texture looks pretty much the same as well. It also tends to make my make up look greasy and definitely doesn't do anything for my unde reye wrinkles. Have never tried it over the top of my make up. The thought of putting something on top of my make up, after all the effort, then messing it up terrifies me. But maybe that is the secret! It's also quite expensive so won't be repurchasing.

Magic Blur

This is a lot like Benefits POREfessional, the texture is much the same. I love wearing this on no makeup days, it does seem to "blur" my imperfections. I do find it just sits on my face which makes it very easy to wipe off. I haven't noticed any difference while wearing it under my foundation but I will keep trying.

Affordable silicone based primer

I received a weeks supply of Magic Blur to trial and also received a trial of the Perfect Blur which is their latest moisturiser with 'blurring' technology. Overall this product is better suited to as a primer in my experience and the texture and finish is very similar to other primers I have previously tried. Firstly this is a very concentrated product - the samples I received intended to last me a week ended up lasting me a fortnight with daily use so you definitely get your money's worth in the 30ml tube. I only need the tiniest amount to get good coverage and a smooth even finish for my makeup. This product also helps my dry skin stay dewy and I find I need a bit more powder throughout the day to stop getting shiny - so might be something to consider if you have oily skin.

The product itself is a thick white mousse-like textured matte finished cream which glides on easily and sinks into pores and lines which gives it the perfect finish. Those who don't like silicones will not like this product as it is loaded with silicone. My skin seems to tolerate silicone/dimethocones just fine but many people find them to cause breakouts from continued use. I personally would probably only use this every now and then when wearing foundation (I usually use a BB cream as I am at home most of the time) so it would be fine for me personally and the tube would last forever. There isn't really any noticeable scent to this product, unlike the super strong scent I found with the moisturiser variant.

Another point to consider is compatibility with your existing makeups - my Revlon foundations applied flawlessly over this but my BB cream resisted it and balled up on top so this may be an issue depending on whether your makeup is heavy in oil/silicones or is a waterbased makeup. I have not had any success in getting this to work under all 3 of my BB creams and I find they all either ball up on top of this product.

Over all a rather inexpensive primer option especially as this can be picked up on special quite often. My only hesitation to purchase the full size would be whether or not it will play nicely with my foundations.

Really does do what it says!

There are so many products out there on the market with ridiculous claims and I thought this would be yet another however decided to test it out when I saw it 50% off in a farmers clearance store.

Let me get this out of the way; the packaging is AWFUL! The tube is very basic for the amount you pay and it reminds me far too much of the Optic White toothpaste. Also this product possibly should have been in a jar or pump as the consistency doesn't suit this squeezy tube packaging. It's almost a whipped type forumla and there seems to be a lot of air mixed in the tube so often its hard to get it out and it almost 'spits' out sometimes - very unpredictable and annoying!

Aside from the packaging, the product inside is wonderful. It is a clear, velvetey substance with no discernible smell which miraculously really does make the skin super smooth and reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores! I couldn't believe my eyes when I tried it on the back of my hand and the effect on my face was the same - you can literally SEE the difference unlike some of the other 'blur' products I've tried.

I wear this as a primer before makeup and find it makes my foundation look better too.

Overall this is fairly pricey for what it is and the packaging is really bad however if you can get over that, the product does work and I will be buying more when I run out! (If I havn't found anything better by then :P )

Silky smooth

Magic blur really is silky smooth and velvety on the skin. It's nice to use under makeup but feels a bit greasy if just worn on its own. A bit disappointed in how it comes out of the tube, seems to have air bubbles that make it haphazard and can it out in the wrong direction, as in not on your fingertip but the floor etc! You don't need to use much and I have come to the conclusion that if I'm not going to wear makeup I just use it in conjunction with my normal day cream and target it to my problem spots like crow feet and around the lips.

Tips: Don't squeeze the tube too hard!

MEH!!

I bought this product on a whim after hearing about all the hype. Have used it for a month now and I'm kinda sitting on the fence on this. Firstly its silicone based so its meant to feel slippery like on the face. But I find that it actually makes my foundations go on slightly slippery on top of it. I mean my foundation does go on somewhat smoother but I feel as though it slides a bit on my skin if I put on top of this product. As for my pores blurring. Again somewhat. But nothing to yell and scream and tell the world about. It may be a good product I think if you have dry skin. It may work a bit better for you. But for me it was must MEH!! Will I repurchase? Yeah NO! Not worth by 30 bucks :(

Magic!

I really love this product and use it daily. It feels lovely and silky when you gently smooth into skin. It does work best on a freshly cleansed face and blurs minor wrinkles and redness. I use a compact foundation on top and my skin looks more even than when I don't apply magic blur. It does squirt out of the tube so you need to be careful and also you need to squeeze out the last bits like you would toothpaste as there is a lot left in the tube when you think it's empty.

Tips: Apply to décolletage and then lightly brush on powder for a lovely smooth look.

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Magic Blur

Magic blur cream you say??! Well I had to try this miracle cream! The packaging is simple, a tube, not much to say there, but it is quite a small tube considering the large box it comes in.... The cream is lovely and silky and applies beautifully. I hoped people would say how fabulous my skin looked, but all they said was "your looking really pale, are you unwell?" Not exactly the comments I was hoping for :( I guess it must have dimished the rosyness of my skin though, so maybe a good product if that is a problem for you. It certainly is a very pleasant product to use and leaves your skin silky. But probably better if you have pale skin, to use as a makeup base, rather than alone.

Tips: Apply over your usual moisturiser, and consider using a little blusher as well :)

Goodbye Pores

I was lucky to get this cheap off a friend who had a couple of tubes, I kind of stared at it for awhile because I had oily skin and i didn't think it would work well on me even though i had reasonably large pores I was more scared about the oil, but man once I finally picked it up, now i cant put it down I use it nearly every day either under my makeup or just on its own.

The packaging is what you can expect from this Revitalift range, The red, minimal information on the actual product and its all on the box. Which is great.

The formula is kind of like a silicone type feeling so thats where my fears about it came from thinking that if that was covering my skin would it be able to breathe, but it was fine so carry on... it was amazing! It went on so smoothly, it filled in all my pores, made everything soft and ready to apply my next step in makeup. On its own i honestly think it made me look more even, my tones looked better, pores filled in so of course that looks better it was a really nice product that lasted on its own on my face all day. This is so good too if you have a pimple or imperfection that you are unsure how to cover, I put some of this over just that spot then stipple my makeup over it and the spot went away it was really good, it just help give a more smooth base for my makeup to go down onto.

I think there are other products that basically do the same thing but this so far is the only one I have tried. I didn't notice my wrinkle disappear but i did notice my pores.

Overall love this product, it is such a helper to make my skin look amazing. Will buy again and i will recommend to others.

Tips: I found this product went of better when applied using a more stipple effect rather than being rubbed in and also with makeup you must set it with a powder as your makeup comes off easily when sitting on top of this product.

Its magic was a blur...

I won this as part of a hamper so was very keen to see how much magic it could do to my uneven, oliy and porous complexion. I find it tricky to apply and it is way thicker to what I'm used to so it feels like I'm clogging my pores with it. This is why I would be reluctant to buy it in the future. Doesn't work for me but I'm just possibly the wrong skin type...
