Smooth operator

I'm not completely sold on this one, although don't get me wrong, it was really nice but I just didn't find it overly special/ I've tried others similar.

The consistency is really nice, it's quite thick but still easy to get out of the tube, and it glides on really nicely and sort of melts in to your hands. When I first used it I thought that it was going to leave my hands with a sort of greasy film over them but it didn't, so that was great. A little does go a long way with this product, so it would end up lasting a long time. I like that it was also fragrance free, it's a nice change from some of the other overly perfumed hand creams out there. I did find that around my fingers/cuticles was still quite dry which I was hoping this cream would fix, but they haven't seemed to budge too much. I will keep giving this a go though!

La Roche-Posay® Cicaplast Mains

I was sent this hand cream for review. Like everyone, my hands have been thrashed by the constant hand washing and sanitising of late. I have pretty dry hands at the best of times and over washing can make the skin near my nails crack.

This product has been a really good, practical one to have on my desk at work. It’s a thick, fragrance-free cream that reminds me of the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula cream I used back in the day. It leaves my hand feeling amazing afterwards and it absorbs fast enough so they don’t feel too greasy. I found that sanitising not long after application didn’t seem to affect the barrier layer much either.

It’s in a sturdy screw-top tube that I feel confident to throw in my bag without fearing a spill. Normally I prefer to use something that smells amazing for a bit of a pick me up, but this is a good and solid option when I need some serious moisture. I’m happy to have both options on the go.

I would definitely buy this again but I feel like it will be a long time before I need to. A little goes a long way and it feels like this tube is going to last for ages.

It really works!

My hands have been sore and riddled with dermatitis since being in hospital 3 months ago (the hand sanitiser is not very soft on the skin).

In the past 3 months I have tried many hand barrier creams and hand repair gels and nothing has worked too well. Im happy to say that this hand barrier cream has made quite a lot of difference. I have used it various times a day. It has repaired my hands. I have noticed a vast improvement in my dermatitis and my hands have been so much softer and hydrated.

The only downfall for me is that it burns when I have an open cut on my hand BUT I expect that with anything I put on it.

You get 50mls in a tube and it retails for $17.99. I really like this product and I will repurchase as it has been the only product to clear up my dermatitis on my hands

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Mains Repair cream

La Roche-Posay® Cicaplast Mains arrived package in a carton in the typically white/blue and black box. It claimed to be a repairing cream that soothes, protects and restores the skin barrier for over-worked hands, damaged by aggression (well clearly the last few weeks of extensive hand washing and non-stop hand sanitisers have done their best to damage the skin on my hands, so this trial was a bit of a blessing). It was reported to apply to hands as often as required. All activities can be immediately resumed. Ok ….

I thought that the container was only 50mls taking into consideration I was planning on using it “as often as required” and found a nice little spot on my desk for it. The first application was pretty well soaked into my skin right away and make it feel velvety soft. I started to think the stuff was pretty amazing and kept the tube close on hand. I am pretty lazy when it comes to looking after my hands as the rest of my body normally needs major attention. I applied the product during the rest of the week whenever I spotted it off came back from washing my hands. I have to say that it has lasted very well using it every day more than once a day.

The consistency was not to thick taking into consideration how moisturising it seems to be. It went on smoothly, and I must say my hands feel hydrated, with no greasiness, and no annoying tackiness. My hands just soaked it right up. The product is fragrance-free. Since it is labeled as a hand cream, I feel I should say it also works excellently on my dry elbows.

I thought it did well as a repairing cream as it soothed, protected and restored my hands. My hands are nourished, repaired, and supple and I will keep on using it.

I am impressed that it is paraben-free, fragrance-free, and would highly recommend it to family and friends.

Price: Vary from $12 to $18 depending on where you will buy from and although more expensive than a normal hand cream I think it is worth the cost.

Tips: Use often it really great

Needed

Just like everyone else at the moment my hand washing and use of hand sanitiser my hands have become quite raw. Before lockdown they were getting particularly red and raw. So when I had the opportunity to review this I was all over it. Especially because I already love the La Roche-Posay brand - their sunscreen is outstanding.

Packaging is a nice simple plastic squeezy tube - I like this as I’m sick of metal tubes that split at the sides.

This might just be me as I live in a colder climate (Dunedin...) but I find it quite a thick gel like formula. I think that if I was in a warmer climate it might not be as thick feeling. I didn’t find this had any scent which I thought was great as I can be quite sensitive to that. This does say that it is a barrier cream so it does sit on the skin for some time before sinking in. For that reason I have been keeping this beside my bed for nighttime application before sleep. This is probably not something to use during the day where you want to do things - particularly no opening jars! But overall I do find this does a great job of moisturising your hands.

Love a bit of hand cream - perfect for this time in my life where my hands need some extra TLC.

fancy fancy

another wonderful product from the christmas bbbe. i have not tried anything from la roche posay but as i can see, theres a clear cult following so i was excited.

first thought was whhyyyy doesnt it have a scent, but then i rubbed it in and i realized, it does not need one! it is magical all in itself without a smelly smell.

the hand cream is more like a hand gel, but its just... so nice? it kind of applies dryly but it like... leaves a moist layer on the hands!? i dunno how to explain it. it's bizarre but MAN it works well. it's probably one of the best handcreams i've ever used in terms of hydration and 'repairing'.

i usually have one really dry hand, i have no idea, maybe its my strong hand, but with this hand cream the dryness has been non-existent and i feel like my hands have been in water more than usual lately.

i'm actually going to buy my neighbor one of these for her birthday next month. surprise, pam! bahahahahaha. would definitely repurchase.

Soffffft

I got this barrier creme in the Christmas BBBE. I'm not a huge fan of Roche Posay, I wouldn't go out to deliberately buy their products, but I had to say it was timely to get this product. Like most people I have been washing my hands a lot, and they are quite dry.

So this product comes in a 50ml tube. It has the standard flip top lid, easy to use, and you can count on getting all of the product out of the tube when you get near the end.

It is thick a white-ish. As soon as it hits my hands it absorbs and they feel instantly soft.I haven't noticed any scent, which is fine with me. It only takes a small amount of product to cover my hands and make them feel good. There's not much to say about a hand cream really, but I can this one is one of the best I've tried.

Overall a great product and well worth $16.99. Definitely recommend it.

Tips: Use as often as necessary to keep your hands soft and smooth.

2020 the year we got told to wash our hands

Having young kids and being a clean freak my hands were suffering well before the year 2020 hit. Lately they have been starting to crack and split so when I saw trial teams for this go out I knew I needed to give it a go. Luckily I was able to purchase through the vault.

The tube is very small and I would get through in a week if I used like normal hand cream so I apply before bed but probably ok for normal hand washers. The product itself is not a cream but more than an ointment which is fine as leaves more of a protective barrier and feels like it sinks in better. It's pretty economical as you dont need to use much. There is absoutely no fragrance which is a good thing when your hands are dry and sore.

My hands definitely feel less tight and cracks appear to be healing way faster than my usual handcreams. Its especially hydrating for the thicker skin around the knuckles and between fingers that other handcreams aren't able to do.

It definitely feels like a deluxe product and I've been researching other products and I'm very scared for my bank balance.

Tips: If your like me and constantly washed during the day apply just before bed so it has a chance to stay on and not get washed off five minutes later.

Seriously nourishing

I’ve never been one to consistently use hand cream in the past. I usually don’t like the sticky feeling on my hands with a lot of other products.

But this hand cream has quite a different texture. It’s like a really nourishing hybrid between a gel and a cream that doesn’t leave the same sticky residue on your hand but still feels super moisturising.

I’ve been using this everyday and I feel like my hands are softer and healthier. It also smells really good which (in my opinion) is half the point of hand cream! Haha

La Roche-Posay® Cicaplast Mains Review

I will definitely be using this cream again. Being a nurse I regularly suffer from dermatitis from washing hands, under my rings and under my watch. I applied this repair cream to my hands at night and in the morning and irritated areas quickly healed and have not flared up since. Love how easy it is to use and makes my hands feel soft and hydrated.
