Holey batman!!!

I suffer from facial dermatitis that flares up when I least wish it to, it can get really angry and raw that is usually worse if I'm wearing foundation to try to disguise it. So I was super excited to give this one a go, after the FIRST application it noticeably reduced the inflammation and by the third day it was almost completely all healed (some flare ups last weeks!!!!!) I also have dermatitis Invetween my fingers from wearing my wedding rings, so I tried some on my hands for a few days and it calmed it down hugely, enough to be able to pop my rings on and not be embarrassed by my hands for a night out!! Super impressed with this product I will be adding this to my collection permanently for sure. The only thing about this is the pump on my bottle (not sure if I just got the dud) is so incredibly tight every time I pump it it flys in all directions haha but I just twist off the lid to get into it.

The answer to flushed, sensitive skin

I have been trialling this lovely serum with the rest of the Trilogy Sensitive range, and thought I'd start by reviewing this particular product earlier, as I've been using it twice a day, every day for the last few weeks now and love it! I received this trial while in the throws of a terrible flu that ravaged my sensitive skin: I had countless dry patches, a flushed red face (made worse by hot toddies with whisky no doubt...), and just a dull complexion overall. Staggering to the bathroom on the first day I got this, noting my red, terrible skin, I slapped this serum on, and instantly noticed a difference. I realise this sounds hard to believe - but my skin really did go from looking red and inflamed, to calmer, and noticeably less red. I've noticed the same after drinking red wine, which always makes my skin flush - this serum calms it right down. On top of that, it absorbs rapidly and gives a nice suppleness and tone to the skin. There is no awful scent, and no negative reaction - just positives! My skin has definitely improved over the last few weeks since using this, and it had a tough job with my poor face. I'll be buying it again in the future, for sure.

Absolute favourite!

I received this to trial (thanks BR!), and after doing a wee patch test I eagerly jumped into the full regime. I usually use vitamin C serum day and night, but for fair trial I decided to use this as the first step after washing my face.

It comes in a sturdy little pump bottle which deposits the perfect amount for my entire face and a little bit of my neck. The serum has a light creamy texture, comparable to a thin moisturising cream. It absorbs into my skin with shocking speed. I like to dot it all over my face then tap it in with my fingers like a face massage. Within minutes my skin has absorbed this and feels dry. Incredible! As much as I love my vitamin C serum, I hate having to wait 10min for it to absorb, so this definitely wins here!

I think this is a good 'first step' kind of product. It preps your face for the moisturiser/creams you want to layer on top of it, and it feels weightless after it's dried. I have to be very careful with the first thing I put on my face since there's no barrier underneath to prevent any allergic reactions or sensitivity I get. Luckily this is very true to its word and very gentle on sensitive skin. It feels almost calming and I don't have to worry about putting this on areas where I have acne or where my skin's throwing a fit for no reason. This is another thing I like more than my vitamin C serum, because that stuff stings if you put it on broken/acne skin!

The 'active ingredients' in this are more for moisturising and calming. Bnd I'm currently trying to amp up that collagen production before the wrinkles take over. So currently I'm trying vitamin c-> this serum-> moisturisers etc. And I think one days when I've more irritation or acne I'll use just this. As it's gentler and more forgiving on the skin.

Tips: Even though it says sensitive don't forget to do a patch test on a small area of your face first!

A good 'first aid' cream

While this cream is designed to be used every day with the rest of the Trilogy sensitive range, I found it was just one step too many for my lifestyle.

Instead, I used it at the first sign of a flare up and I think that is where this little beauty comes in to its own. During my trial of the range, our family went through a fairly intense and traumatic emergency. Both hubby and I suffered horrendous flare-ups of our eczema as we dealt with the stress. I pulled this out at the first sign of our itchy, flaky skin and we slathered it on (his hands, my face and hands). Instantly, our skin felt calm and smooth.

We both used the serum in place of the hydrocortisone and Sudocreme that we would usually crack out at the first sign of irritation. This worked even better than those go-tos.

The glass jar travelled well and we loved the little stopper that came with it so we knew the product wouldn't leak through our gear. It was a little stiff to use though and we'd often end up with cream flying, oops!

But overall, a wonderful, effective, gentle and nourishing serum that will become our new 'first line of defence' against eczema and sensitive skin flare-ups.

Tips: Pop it on at the first sign of irritation and your skin will love you for it! An incredible 'first aid' product.

Very Gentle Calming Serum

I am always a little undecided when it comes to serums. I feel that most appear to do nothing to my skin. But this little bottle of serum, I feel may change my mind. In a gorgeous frosted brown glass bottle with a pump dispenser, this white lotion like fluid is full of natural and calming ingredients. Macqui berry, calendula and Syricalm. It claims to instantly calm your skin, personally, I didn't feel that this claim lived up to expectations. However, my skin didn't flare up as bad as it usually does when i was using this product. The bottle with its pump dispenser is key in delivering just the right amount of unscented product into your hands. I used this before moisturising in the morning and before oiling at night. It was certainly a step in what became an evening ritual, and I do feel that it has made a difference in how my skin feels, if not looks. With time, who knows?

Tips: Press into skin rather than rub. Wait a minute before appyling the next step.

Another Favourite From The Trilogy Sensitive Range

I thought this would be like other serums on the market at the moment, but I was surprised in a great way at how much this is like a light lotion rather than an oily serum. The pump type applicator makes it easy and quick to use, no fingers in jars with this! The texture is that of a light lotion, and it is so easily absorbed into the skin, it is a pleasure to use. If you have combo skin, this is a lighter alternative than the mask or moisturiser in the range, and no oily T-Zone here! Also fantastic to use on the back of tired dry hands, quite the multi tasker! This serum has no anti ageing properties, but it feels so good to use, no SPF, and no scent, which is good when using product around the eye area.

Tips: Use this on the back of hands for a boost of moisture at night time, you will wake up with super smooth hands in the morning.

Tightens and Firms

I'm quite surprised by this product as at first I didn't like it. When I see a product that says serum I assume it has a more oil type formula to it, but this is more a creamy serum but with a slight oily texture to it. If anyone has used the Oxygen Serum, it has a similar consistency to that.

This product comes in a frosted brown glass bottle as the other products but with with a pump dispenser. Sadly I didn't like the pump itself, it was so hard to use as you had to push it down quite hard to try and get it to work and then when it did come out, it squirted out in all directions. I'm not sure if it was just mine but I think they may need to look into this design as it maybe a possible flaw.

It also has the same Maqui Berry, SyriCalm and Camelia as the Creamy Cleanser has but no distinct scent that I can pick out.

Instructions were both on the box and the product and easy to understand. When I applied the Serum, I found it to be quite thin and didn't need to use much at all as it spreads quite easily and if you squirt too much, it is just a waste. The more I massaged it into my skin, the tighter it became. I wasn't a huge fan of that feeling to start with as it felt tight and dry but it didn't look dry if that makes any sense. When I touched my skin after it had dried, it also didn't feel dry. Very strange sensation but I soon got used to it and started to look forward to that feeling as it told me it was working its magic.

My skin has been really good since using this and in conjunction with the other products, it seems to have improved my skin. My skin has calmed down with its redness, is more firm and hydrated and the blemishes I had before are nearly all gone. I've had compliments on my skin lately which is great when someone else notices.

Tips: There is no SPF in this product so you will need to add that step in too.

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum

I used the Very Gentle Calming Serum as part of the Trilogy Sensitive Range review. I've never used this type of serum before so I was really interested to see how it worked. I used it in the evening after cleansing and before moisturising. It is quite a loose cream and spreads really easy on the face and neck. There is no smell and it feels really gentle. After a couple of minutes my skin started to feel a bit tight so then I applied the moisturiser and that fixed my skin to feeling great again. The product is so gentle I used it on the sensitive eye area and I had no reaction to using it. I felt like I was giving my skin a real boost for bed time and it was a nice treat to use this product.

Tips: Make sure you moisturise afterwards.

Best serum I have tried!

I have never really understood the point of serums, until this one! For me all other serums have left my skin tight and dry. However this serum has made me realise why people love them! The texture of the product is silky smooth and gives an instant cooling effect to irritated skin. It makes my skin feel soft and hydrated and reduces redness straight away. On the bottle it is described as an SOS Soothing and Hydrating Rescue, I could not give this a better description, it does exactly that! I have used it when I have had an eczema flare up on my face and it takes away the redness and the itch as well as hydrating the affected area. Like the rest of the range it has the maqui berry and SyriCalm in it as well as adding calendula which is full of antioxidants to calm and protect your irritated skin. It is in a nice easy to use pump bottle, where one pump disperses the perfect amount to lightly cover your entire face and neck. I use two pumps when my skin feels like it needs that little bit extra of a boost. I did find that sometimes the first pump got stuck a bit and would shoot the product out, so be careful!

Tips: Use both day and night but if you have a red irritated skin flare up, dab a small amount onto the area for instant relief and hydration. Be careful of the pump, it can get stuck and shoot the product out. Make sure the nozzle is facing into your palm!

A new must have - SOS for your skin!

Well what can I say, the beautiful luxurious packaging once again including an easy pump top, top quality ingredients and it is a product that does what it says it does. This is fantastic to use after cleansing or on any irritated areas of skin. I love to take 1-2 pumps and gently pat it all over my face, neck and decolletage areas, as I often find I get a lot of redness on my upper chest. This Very Gentle Calming Serum is soothing, cooling and calming as it states. Instantly comforting and reducing redness and irritation. I just love it, along with the other products in this range I feel like it's a real treat for my skin. Some of the key ingredients are maqui berry, SyriCalm and calendula along with chamomile and green tea. It smells similar to the rest of the Very Gentle range, a light barely noticeable, natural smell, a little like calendula. It says "SOS soothing and hydrating rescue - immediate peace and comfort for highly reactive skin" on the bottle and this is so true. That is really the best way to describe it, SOS for your skin! It's a nice product to have if you suffer eczema or very sensitive skin and you sometimes can't use products, you could just use this alone as a gentle moisturiser. It comes in a 30ml bottle and as with the other products a little goes a long way so it's good value and I am adding this to my skincare regime. It's a must have for me now!

Tips: A little goes a long way, pat gently onto skin where and as required or daily after cleansing.
