Didn't do much in the long term

I was looking for a new eye cream so I was excited to have been selected for this Trial Team.

This product claims to instantaneously brighten and colour-correct the eye area, while providing anti-wrinkle and de-puffing effects.

It is a peachy gel-cream formula that spreads easily and feels cooling on the skin. It leaves a smooth, matte, silicone-y finish that sits well under makeup.

I did not notice any colour-correcting effect at all, the cream was completely invisible after it was all absorbed. There is no shimmer in this formula.

It did not reduce my dark circles, though I have pretty bad hayfever and rub my eyes a lot. I also did not find it hydrating enough. I don't really have wrinkles around my eyes so can't say much about that. I did find the cooling sensation quite refreshing so that might help with reducing puffiness.

Overall, this eye cream would be good for a bit of light moisture and for prepping the eye area before makeup. I don't think it's worth the $48.99 price tag and would not purchase it myself.

Tips: Great for prepping the eye area before applying makeup.

Thought it'd be better

Didn't achieve any results from this product. Nice enough smell and texture. Bit doesn't stand up to other eye creams I've tried in the past.

Olay Average Eye Cream

Olay ultimate eye cream:

I usually don’t have eye cream in my normal skin care routine, but have been thinking about whether I need to add it, as I have been seeing some dark circles and bags appear more regularly! I have under eye bags and some dark circles. I haven’t used many eye creams in the past, only one or two so don’t have a lot to compare this with. To start, I didn’t particularly like the packaging personally- the product is a wee jar that’s clear on the bottom and a mirrored silver look for the lid and it’s inside a see-through box with the same mirrored silver backing inside. I found it hard to read the writing on the back- due to the clear box and mirrored silver combo, and personally felt that they clashed and I didn’t like the reflective-ness of the silver stuff. The packaging of the actual product was a bit better- the bottom looks like glass but doesn’t have the weight of it so feels a bit cheap. The lid is the same mirrored silver as the box which I didn’t like, as I felt it looked cheap as well. The actual product is the colour of a concealer, to counteract the dark circles. I didn’t particularly find that this concealed much of my under eye circles, although it did brighten a bit which I like. The consistency was good- a bit thicker than the other eye creams I have used but spread really easily. I don’t have any wrinkles (yet haha) so can’t comment on that effect. There was no particular smell, kind of neutral and just smelt like a cream with a subtle scent, which I didn’t mind too much. Overall, for an eye cream I thought this was average. Over the weeks that I’ve trialled this, i don’t think I have seen much change in the appearance of my under eye circles or bags. However I did like the brightening effect of my under eyes. I don’t think I would repurchase this, although I haven’t tried many eye creams to compare to!

Olay eye cream

Sigh. It was with high hopes i thought this eye cream would make me 10 years younger and remove my bags and dark circles and lines.. but it wasnt to be. The initial packaging was ridiculous and not necessary. The product itself was creamy and smelled nice and absorbed pretty easily. I didnt feel magically different or notice any change over the 3 weeks in use I took before / during and after photos and no change.. not even a slight decrease in puffiness.

I wouldnt buy this again. I wont even continue to use it.

Tips: -dont bother with this product. It wasnt ultimate. Save up for an eye lift it will eventually be cheaper than this

It's ok ...

I got this in the last vault and was keen to try it, because I love eye creams and I love Olay.

It comes in a big packet but is just in a small 15ml glass pot. The product itself looks like runny foundation so I hoped it would tint away the puffy white bags under my eyes. It didn't. It absorbs and leaves no colour behind. It is a positive that it absorbs well though.

It has a lovely soft mild scent.

So, I've been using it morning and night for a couple of weeks now. It's ok, but it isn't near as good as the one I was using before it. It does hydrate the skin under my eyes but I haven't noticed the instant reduction of puffiness, or wrinkles. I don't have dark circles so I can't speak for that.

So all up, it's middle range for me. I wouldn't repurchase as it's too expensive compared to other eye creams.

Let's get down to the chase...does this work?

The short answer is...Kind of.

The main purpose of the product is to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles around the eyes. I didn't feel like it made much of a difference here - I have pale skin and even after a good nights sleep, I still have a bit of darkness under my eyes. I didn't feel like the cream, either straight away or after continued use, helped this. ....But, in saying that, I still kinda liked it. I know, that makes no sense! The product looked nice, felt nice, and smelled nice, and it felt pretty fancy for a low-end supermarket cream. It made a great base for under-eye concealer and for eye shadow.

At the end of the day, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, and I wouldn't purchase again. For the time that this product lasts me (which will be a fair while; you only need a tiny touch on the tip of your finger, and there's a decent amount in the little glass pottle) I'll continue to use it as a base/moisturiser, but I won't expect any dramatic results. I'll feel pretty fancy while doing it though!

Tips: Use after moisturising as an under-eye concealer and eye shadow base. I didn't notice the "touch of concealer" that is part of it, so it is possible to use this at night also.

Not for me

Not a fan, didn't notice any difference in dark circles, wrinkles or puffiness. The product is a medium weight cream that is a beige skin tone colour. It's silky to touch and glides easily, but it leaves a long lasting drying out feeling when applied to the skin. It almost feels like it's hardening rather than absorbing into the skin, but it does leave the skin feeling soft to the touch.

I found the colour to be off putting for an under eye cream. I don't want to apply to colour when hydrating it, though it blended in and appeared colourless on the skin. While it's meant to act as a colour-correct tool, I found that not to be the case for me and didn't notice any difference in the appearance.

The eye cream is stored in a plastic jar with a twist off lid, and easy to open. The ingredient list is quite long, and and not very appealing when reading through. I didn't see much info on the peptides and Vit B3 on the packaging as it states in the online description.

Overall, this product is targeted at my under eye needs (wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles) but it didn't do anything to address them. And I wasn't a fan of the product once applied.
